My wife has a condition called Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP), a
degenerative condition caused by a build-up of Tau proteins in the
brain. It is very rare (5 in 100000), very difficult to diagnose,
untreatable and incurable. It is typified by muscle stiffness in the
limbs, throat and eyes; a tendency to fall very easily and without
warning; inability to speak clearly and the eyes cannot scan a page.
This information was given very clearly to the assessor when she
visited. When I received the copy of their assessment report, it showed
the following:- Relevant Medical History - High Blood Pressure (untrue)
Osteoporosis Provide Additional detail below - Progressive
supranuclear palsy. As carers arrive they are asked if they are aware of
my wife's principal condition, the reply is always to ignore PSP and
have to search for it on their handheld devices. The organisation
refuses to amend the report to tell the truth, putting cares and wife in jeopardy.
