View Full Details of Helping Hands Home Care (Swindon)My Father's situation is rather unique - he has no living relatives/ friends within close proximity and I live on the other side of the world - I do as much as I can for him but obviously there are times when certain tasks are impossible given the distance between us. Helping Hands have been our lifeline for three years now and continue to be one that we couldn't do without. The need for us to seek support from Helping Hands came on rather suddenly and the Swindon branch couldn't have been more helpful when it came to designing a care plan suitable for Dad's needs - a care plan which has needed to be adjusted accordingly multiple times (sometimes at very short notice) to help Dad cope with the realities of his old age. Helping Hands have consistently gone above and beyond in numerous ways & we cannot thank them enough - particularly Chung (who has become a valued friend to my Dad). Their care gives me the peace of mind I need to know that Dad is safe to continue living in his own home
My terminally ill husband who was extremely private, was reluctant to receive support from anyone else apart from me and our sons but after encouragement from the Prospect and Community nurses, he agreed for carers from Helping Hands, to visit. The carers started off by visiting once a day but prior to his passing, this had increased to four times a day. The carers were all very kind and compassionate and the quality of care was excellent. Nothing was too much trouble and not only did they offer support to my husband, but to me too, encouraging me to take time for myself whilst they were with him. As a family, we would like to especially pass on our thanks to one carer in particular. This was Bernard who really did go over and above in everything he did. He engaged with my husband throughout and was always ready with a joke and a smile. We really believe that this made a difference particularly during our loved one's final days. Thank you.
Having reached out for some support for my elderly father at the start of the year. I contacted helping hands, within a day they replied and answered many questions that i had. We set up a plan of support and care which to this day is perfect for all parties concerned. My father looks forward to his outings and 1 to 1 care support. I've noticed the benefits to this great service that helping hands have given not only my father be to us as a family in general. From phone calls, emails or anything in terms of contact and information sharing they have been so professional. Can't thank them enough. Would recommend them hands down.
Been with helping hands for over a year now and the carers are always very friendly and polite but feel the new ones could do with a bit more training as I find it hard to ask them to do things for me would definitely recommend helping hands to other people
I'm very happy with the care I receive, and the carers are all brilliant, they take there time and don't rush you, they look after me really well. I would highly recommend Helping Hands to other people.
Review was quick (10 minutes) ot much to discuss as only receive carer 1/2 hr Saturday. Lady was friendly and seemed to understand my needs.
I have used Helping Hands on and off since 2024. I am grateful being given their telephone number and since the first time they started helping me I can sincerely say that I have been looked after and helped with smiles and a genuine reason to do what I would ask of carers, including taking me for hospital appointments and being with me for a week so that I was safe. I am glad I have them.
The review went well very professional and focused.
The care that my husband has received has been extremely good. The ladies and gents are very caring and sympathetic towards his needs. Only one thing I do find quite difficult to understand is the rota each week sent to us. The names on it are quite difficult as to who will be turning up.
