I cannot fault the care given to my Mother and am very grateful for all that the care professionals and other members of the Home Instead team did. Staff were always patient, caring and attentive to Mum's needs. Nothing ever seemed to be too much trouble. Similarly 'back room' staff were always polite
and helpful when ever I had cause to contact the office.

I was hoping for carers who had more experience with late-stage Alzheimers. The process of getting a third carer to cover the live-in carers' sickness or holidays has not been good. A supply carer was sent who was not well. I needed extra help in getting the care plan updated. I acknowledge that time
was limited but any suggestion to help, for example, postponing a meeting were not accepted. The work was done but I was left in no doubt it had caused inconvenience. A visit from a trainer where there are obvious discrepancies have not shown any improvement.

We are very pleased with the home care service provided by Home Instead. They are client focused, taking time to understand our needs and agree a personalised care plan, which is reviewed regularly. The care professionals treat our family member with dignity and respect, offering companionship as well
as carrying out other duties. The management team are approachable, flexible and have responded rapidly to urgent and changing requirements. We would have no hesitation in recommending Home Instead as a care company.

We've been using Home Instead for about a year and are very pleased with the service. We've used both live-in care and weekly visits for my dad who has dementia, he can be quite untrusting so it was a relief to see that he seems to get on well with all the carers. The staff are always helpful and deal
with our requests swiftly. Thanks!

Home Instead provided support for my wife, who has dementia, in the period when we were waiting for a room to become available in an appropriate residential home. Their initial needs assessment was very thorough and was important in determining the proper support. Each of the care workers providing
the support was very professional, empathetic and engaging with my wife. I was very pleased to have the additional support to bridge the periods until my wife could enter the home.

I would highly recommend Home Instead they were excellent with my mum. Mum needed support with her personal care and companionship. Although it was for a short time because mum has now gone into a care home the whole company were amazing. Everyone I spoke to was helpful, kind and supportive. The App
was excellent at letting us know how mums visit had gone. A special mention to one member of staff who mum really became attached to, as they sang and danced together bringing her such joy. Thank you to the whole team.

I live and work in London and was experiencing considerable stress trying to manage my mum's care. Fortunately, I found Home Instead following a recommendation from my mum's clinic in Felixstowe. The management team and care givers are exceptional, well organised and very supportive. Before the start
of the contractual agreement, a senior manager and the proposed caregiving team spent an afternoon with Mum so that she could get to know them and feel comfortable which was extremely reassuring and a great experience for Mum and I. The team update me on any care issues and the App allows me to view details of each visit. But most of all my mum is happy and enjoys great companionship and care. This matters so much as she was married for 56 years and struggled after we lost Dad. Even Mum's neighbours are impressed and have met the care team. All of this means I can better manage my working life without added stress and worry. I highly recommend Home Instead. Thank you.

Very friednly carers. Carers are punctual at all times on visits.
Carers listen to my mother-in-law and respect her wishes, always happy to take her shopping or out on other trips.
The app is so nice as it's so important to know how my mother-in-law has responded to each visit.

My mum had carers from Home Instead for about 4 months over the summer. The whole process with the Home Instead team was excellent; thorough, clear and personable. From the initial conversation on the phone to the visits from the excellent manager to the choice of the two great carers, every stage was
taken in consultation with my mum. The team guided her through her options so she felt completely in control and never pressured into anything she wasn't sure of. Her two carers were very different people, but both were extremely interested in my mum, and always keen to chat about her and about themselves too. They were both very flexible and responded to what my mum asked them to do. My brother and I were extremely pleased about our mum's visits when we couldn't be there, and she was really reassured by their professionalism and care.
I think we received excellent value for money for Mum's care, and we would recommend Home Instead to others in the area without hesitation.

I'm pleased to say my dad is being looked after very well by the Home Instead carers have got him in a settled routine and he is obviously happy and enjoying life despite his circumstances.
All the staff obviously care and have experience with people with dementia. The management have been responsive
too and were able to set up the service quickly in a, for us, urgent situation. There have been some small niggles like where the invoice gets posted to, but these have been dealt with quickly.

We cannot fault the care that is shown to our loved one. The daily visits are the highlight of her day. Due to dementia our aunt often needs reassurance about everyday things and the carers are totally understanding of her needs. Also, the office team are always on hand to discuss or advise on queries

A particular member of staff and his team of wonderful carers have been looking after my dad at home over the last six months, right up to the time for him to move to hospice care. They treated him with great care, good cheer and respect, alert to his changing care needs and keeping him comfortable.
The team is reliable, flexible and easy to contact when things change. Thank you all for making my dad’s last months comfortable, for enabling him to stay at home for as long as possible and for looking after my mum throughout.

Home Instead Bury St Edmund's provided twice daily care visits for my Mum after my Dad was admitted to hospital for an extended period. They were very reliable and excellent at accommodating changes in visit times due to hospital appointments. Mum had several carers covering all the visits, some of
these were truly stellar and had a significant positive impact on Mum who was having a very difficult time with her health as well as Dad's.

My dad has used Home Instead now for approx 6 months, during this time he has been very happy with the service. They are reliable and friendly and the carers that visit him are only 2 or 3 different people which is nice as he gets to know them and they know what he likes.
If we have had any queries,
requests or changes to the service that is required the manager has got back to me very promptly, even at the weekends.
We will continue to use Home Instead as this also gives peace of mind to the family that he is being well cared for when we are not able to visit.

from Sue M (Wife of Client) published on 10 May 2024

We have used Home Instead for a few months now. My husband needed personal care following a serious illness requiring both hospital and nursing home admissions. I would have struggled on my own. We have liaised closely with different members of staff at Home Instead, resulting in my husband receiving
timely and very good care throughout. The carers we have had have changed very little during this time, so there is good continuity of care. We are now very gradually reducing the input required, as my husband is slowly getting back to how he was prior to being ill.
At times due to either staff absences or scheduled medical appointments, we have been able to re-organise things amicably and efficiently between us, sometimes at very short notice. The response and help received from Home Instead and in particular the director, have been reassuring and situations easily dealt with even if small compromises have been necessary at times. Thank you to all concerned.
