Helping Hands Home Care (Richmond)

Our four day live in carer was amazing. Mum became very unwell quite rapidly and the carer called me to come as she was concerned. When I arrived she 'took control' in a positive way to get an ambulance so that mum could be assessed. We were advised to go to A&E at 10pm. The carer came with me, which
made a huge difference as mum continued to be unwell whilst waiting for triage. Our carer stayed to 2am and in the morning was available to give information to the doctor (on phone) in a calm, factual way, helping to speed up diagnosis.

Mum was discharged in the afternoon - we came back to a very clean, tidy house - carpets vacuumed, laundry done and bed made up. This carer ensured that mum was cared for physically, emotionally and domestically.

We have had Helping Hands care for a while now and every carer has been great, so it's hard to single someone out. Thank you for having such a supportive team.

My mother has been feeling increasingly more isolated. She used to go out a lot but is now stuck in her flat, often going for days without seeing anyone. I go as much as I can but needed to know that someone was visiting her regularly and so I turned to Helping Hands. It took a few visits for Mum to
get used to having someone come round but she became very fond of the carer, her initial visitor. I think a lot of old people are resistant to people entering their homes but it's worked relatively well for us. I've never met any of the visitors but I get to hear about them from Mum, which is always a welcome topic of conversation. I'd like to thank Helping Hands for tiding us over during a very difficult period and may well use their services again.

One of the carers, who came to sit with my husband who has dementia, was excellent. She was calm and caring. My husband trusted her. I went out and left them alone in the house. When I came home her and my husband were watching TV and drinking coffee. All was well. I would have used Helping Hands much
more, but my husband was taken into a nursing home.

The service my mother-in-law receives is excellent.
My mother-in-law's care is great - respectful and kind and always helpful.
The office is excellent at making small changes as her requirements have slowly become more complex.

We required a carer to assist my mother-in-law following her chemotherapy treatment during which her health and mobility deteriorated. We only used the carers for a short period but we found the carers and client service team to be professional and caring. We may need to use them again in the coming
months.

Reliable friendly and helpful service. Flexible when we needed to add extra visits and great communication making admin easy for us.
This means we can have confidence that Mum is looked after well during her visits. Her carer also does some jobs around the house, which is so useful for us.

Please read this as our comments re the past months since the new management team came into being. We enjoy a very good relationship with the manager and her team and find them helpful, considerate and efficient. All this whilst we occasionally have to change the normal rota because of changes to my
wife's situation. Regarding our usual carers then we are entirely happy as we have now built up a strong bond with them. They are efficient whilst displaying the vital sympathetic receptiveness which is so important and appreciated by us both.

My cousin was assessed by one of the carers of Helping Hands Wimbledon. He took a great deal of time and effort in matching my cousin with a domiciliary carer. We were very happy with the commitment and care shown by the carer to my cousin - and they both got on well. Thank you.

I first contacted Helping Hands Home Care (Bromley) seeking help looking after my wife. In particular, I wanted home care so that I could visit my mum in Scotland. Helping Hands (Bromley) visited for a thorough initial assessment that helped us decide what care we wanted. They matched my wife with a
lovely, kind carer and her visits are now a weekly highlight. My wife enjoys the company and someone keen to do the jobs that I tend to ignore. We have found the office very good - letting us know if a different carer is coming, or when helping arrange extra care sessions (enabling me to visit my mum). My wife's care is regularly reviewed to check that we are happy with the service.

I was concerned when my elderly friend, who had no close family was showing signs of needing assistance. I phoned various agencies but something about Helping Hands Home Care made me feel confident and reassured. I was right! My friend has regular cares who assist in shopping, hospital appointments,
coffee trips and companionship. They are like good friends, kind, caring, respectful, efficient and professional. Management staff are always helpful and sort problems immediately. Thank you Helping Hands, you're brilliant!

The team at the Richmond office have been instrumental in helping to keep my mother in her flat over the past year. On occasions where extra help is needed; for example, helping with a hospital visit or correcting a blister pack issue. The team are caring and professional and should be commended as
they make my life easier, living a long way from my mother.

Carers (with one exception and she was removed at my request) have been faultless in their care and friendly. I have not given management a top score, only because I have not received a rota with an expected time of arrival, not a big issue for me, since it is either 8.30 or 9.00 am.

I have been using Helping Hands since December 2022 for my dad and I have to say they have been brilliant. The carers provided are always professional and caring, giving a lot of attention to his needs and providing feedback to me with any concerns. I have occasionally called the office with requests
