My wife and I have had various care companies in the past with very mixed results, the companies always eventually letting us down. Helping Hands have been truly a breath of fresh air. Our trust in companies has been completely destroyed in the past but I can honestly say I now have 100% trust regained,
no mean feat and and absolute credit to The manager and the team she has put in. They are on a completely different level to other companies, through from management to care. My son is a very happy boy.

I would thoroughly recommend Helping Hands. From start to finish they have been fabulous in helping us to care for our mum at home. The office staff are friendly and always accommodating when we needed to alter visits or change the care package. The initial assessment fully considered our mum's personality,
likes and needs and this enabled a good match of carer. The carer was patient with mum and adapted to her needs and was always very caring. Mum considered her to be a friend after a while!
Helping hands have helped us through a difficult period with our mum and for this I am very grateful.

Overall care is very good, carers are generally very capable and reliable. Punctuality is very important.
However, some carers are much more capable than others. Sometimes a different carer arrives than the one that I have been advised will attend and at a different time without anyone informing me.
All the carers are very friendly and helpful.

My mother receives such wonderful care from all her carers. I can rest assured that her care needs are being met and my mother genuinely enjoys their company. We have been with Helping Hands for a few years now and communication has always been excellent. If a problem arises, the management is easy
to reach and is acted on swiftly. Thank you for all you do!

Very friendly professional service. My dad looks forward to the "nurses" coming. They listen to his stories, and nothing is too much for them.
Having them help with my dad's care has taken a huge pressure from both me and my sister.

My 101-year-old mother has a lunchtime visit, Monday to Friday, to serve lunch and check she's ok. All carers are friendly, professional and willing to do any extra job that's needed. My mother looks forward to the daily visit as it gives her another face to see during the day. Helping Hands has been
a real pleasure to have coming to see her.

We are supported by a great team at Helping Hands.
From our initial phone call with the manager, we felt welcome and that our needs were listened to.
When the manager came out to visit us at home we felt reassured that the care we received would meet our individual requirements.
The care and attention
taken to ensure the details that are important to us were/are included in the care provided again by a brilliant team of care workers has given us the confidence and support to help us through a really difficult time.
As a partner of someone with Dementia, I feel grateful and lucky to be involved by such a caring and professional team.

I honestly cannot rate Helping Hands (Gateshead) highly enough. I live away from my mum and have needed help over the past few months to provide her with support and companionship. Every person I have dealt with has been caring, reliable, efficient and keen to ensure that my mum's needs are taken care
of. They are extremely thoughtful and the main carer who visits my mum is nothing short of an angel! They have a lovely bond and the team tries their best to enable her to visit when possible.
With me living away it has been a very stressful time for me, to ensure that Mum has regular and reliable support and care. I have found that no request is too small or large for the team which puts my mind at ease. They treat Mum with the utmost respect, care and dignity and she looks forward to their visits and little trips out!
Helping Hands are my eyes on the ground and they have spotted things and fixed them before they became big issues. The office support is amazing too.
Thanks so much!

The care and compassion that my mam received was outstanding and we were all treated like family. I would highly recommend this care provider to anyone looking for home care. My mam passed away 16th May 2023 and even after then I was contacted by them to see how us as a family were coping.

We have been with Helping Hands for almost six months. My mam, who is in her nineties, is very independent and was initially reluctant to receive help. Following an informative and helpful discussion at home with a staff manager, Mam agreed to have daily visits from a carer. During one visit, I was
contacted by the carer informing me that Mam was unwell and that she had sent for the paramedics and would stay with Mam until I arrived. Mam was hospitalised for a number of days and the only issue I had with Helping Hands was being unable to contact them out of hours to suspend the contract until my Mam was discharged from hospital. Conversely, just prior to Mam coming home, I was able to speak to a staff manager fairly quickly to discuss some small adjustments to her contract and this was arranged immediately and without any fuss. The care provided has been good, my mam enjoys her daily visit from the carer and the family have the additional assurance that she is being looked after.

We have used HH Gateshead for nearly 2 years and have been impressed by the level of service. Inevitably things don’t always gone to plan but the way in which situations were rectified has been whats important.
Our requests are always met with the same enthusiastic response, and then carried out by
diligent & caring staff.
Even out of hours complex requests handled with aplomb.
‘Above & beyond’ is what springs to mind.
On behalf of our Dad, thanks a million.

Couldn’t be more pleased with the services we have received for my grandma from Helping Hands. All of the staff are lovely and the office staff couldn’t do enough for us. The two ladies from the office especially have both been amazing and nothing we have asked so far has been an issue. The carers have
been lovely with my grandma, they have made her feel comfortable since the beginning and helped her day-to-day life so much! All the staff at Helping Hands go above and beyond for their clients and we couldn’t thank them enough.

I never heard from one week to the next about visits to my mother unless I ask. The online system has never worked since my mother started having visits.
More communication is required between service and family especially when the person has dementia and can't remember the visits.

Our mum has dementia and we used Helping Hands for home care and also extra support when our mum moved into assisted living. All I can say is they were absolutely amazing! They supported me and my sister throughout the whole time we used them, they were always there to advise and help us on the phone
and direct us to places we could find more help/information when needed. My mum loved all the carers, they spent so much time getting to know her and we always knew she was in safe hands. We would highly recommend the whole team at Helping Hands!

Used Helping Hands for the first time for 8 days between the 10th - 17th December 2022 to act as cover for my dad who is 90 years old and has been diagnosed with Mixed Dementia. Staff were very pleasant and communicated with me when I rang to see how he was during my ski holiday. The only downside was
when Dad fell out of bed on the very day of my return. He had actually fallen on his neck and damaged it and Helping Hands quite rightly said they couldn't touch him when he fell on the floor. Care Call said the same resulting in him going to hospital where a stiff neck brace was fitted and he remained there for a full month until the C-7 fracture healed. He was actually released from hospital three days before I was due to go away again in January but the hospital transferred him to a local care home as it was deemed he needed 24 hour care not just daily care. Unfortunately, now my dad gets up frequently during the night and respite is the only option. Thank you for helping me last year.

Helping Hands were absolutely marvellous with my father-in-law and mother-in-law at a time when they desperately needed help. They were knowledgeable and efficient and were so kind. We could not have asked for better. Sadly my father-in-law has now passed away, but their help made such a difference
to us all. I would not hesitate to recommend their services.
