As one of the oldest and largest home care providers in Cornwall with over 6 offices in the region, Westcountry Home Care and Alexandra’s Community Care can assure you that they know how to look after your loved ones and support them at all times.

They offer expert, flexible care solutions to help people with additional needs remain at home and their services.

This includes support with personal care such as dressing, washing and medication, to palliative care and dementia care. Their offices work extensively with the NHS to provide specialist care for advanced and complex conditions, for example, Motor Neurone Disease, Huntington’s, Parkinson’s, Multiple Sclerosis and Spinal Injuries.

They can also provide companionship and have also been able to support clients in their different daily settings such as in the workplace and community activities. In-home services have recently been extend to include hairdressing, and hand &foot care.

Every one of the lovely carers from Alexandra Care was fabulous. They were happy to work with me, my sisters, or our Dad to help us keep Mum at home for her final few months, as she so desperately wanted. For this, we shall always be so grateful.
All the carers were so friendly, kind, gentle, and willing
to help; they were sensitive to Mum's increasing frailty in her final weeks/days and helped us keep her well cared for and safe. It was in her final days that their guidance, experience, and expertise came into play and it was amazing working with such competent ladies.
Even in those final, difficult days, the carers brought a little smile to Mum's face with their cheery care, compassion, and kindness. Dad and I were so glad to see you each day too.
Additionally, we were so grateful for how swiftly Alexandra Care responded when it became clear Mum needed double-handed care visits in her latter days.
Thank you all for making the last few months possible, you are all angels on earth.

Our local office has always responded positively to any requests made with reference to change of times re visits etc. The carers are mostly on time and will appologise if for any reason they are delayed.
I am quite satisfied with the level of care they are giving to my life.

While my husband has been having personal care from Alexandra's, I have found the staff very caring and supportive to my husband. They talk to him and have a laugh. Nothing is too much trouble. The staff arrive with a smile on their face and always a cheery hello greeted to him. He feels very safe and
comfortable when around them. They always ask if there is anything else they can do before they leave.
Your staff are brilliant and good at thir jobs. The best!

When Alexandra's first visited my wife, my wife had not eaten for 30 days and had only sips of fluid, my wife was also spending most of the time laying in bed. Now 4 months on and with 3 visits a day my wife eats 3 small meals a day, has a change of clothes every day, a wash or shower every day. My
wife has dementia and this turnaround in her personal hygiene and nutrition is purely down to Alexandra's carers.

Mum's expereince with Alexandra's has been overwhelmingly positive. She has found the staff extremely friendly and very professional, and nothing is too much trouble. Management is keen to solve any issues and was quick to assist when adjusting Mum's visit times. Very pleased so far.

I am writing this review as my partner had a stroke last year and cannot write very well. She has agreed that I should write this review. We are satisfied with the carers, but the management has ignored our request to not have male carers. Last time I spoke I was told that it is not going to happen,
which is very rude. The attitude of the management is very poor.

We have listened to your concerns and have discussed the matter and I am afraid that we cannot always accommodate all female carers on a double-handed visit. We have recommended and explained that all service users and their carers/families have the right to ask social services for a new provider that can accommodate female-only carers. We hope you can understand.

I am very happy with the care and support provided by all my carers - both dealing with routine care and out-of-the-ordinary events. My only concern relates to communication from the office, in particular failure to inform me of a change in the timing of my visit.

We approached Alexandra's for holiday cover whilst staying in a different area. I was impressed from the outset with the agency's professionalism and communication. Once we arrived on holiday things weren't quite as disabled-friendly as advertised, but we were supported and helped to overcome the challenges
and I couldn't have been happier with our choice. All staff are very polite and courteous, and I really don't have anything negative to report. Will definitely use it again.
