The good side of this review is that most of the carers are very good. However the greatest stress for me is carers arriving a lot earlier than expected (7 am instead of 8 am) which is not acceptable as I could be in the shower. I accept things happen during unforeseen circumstances but a text or similar
would be appreciated. It's also stressful trying to feed my husband, which due to a medical condition is very slow and sometimes difficult if they turn up a lot earlier than expected and then leave in a rush. Most carers wait a few minutes while I finish but it mostly feels difficult and they never stay the full allocated time. (Husband has one lung, bent windpipe and dementia.)

I'm delighted with the care provided to my mother by Horizon over the last 2 years. The assessment meeting was very friendly, positive and reassuring. The care put in place made a massive difference to the quality of her life. All the carers were capable and kind. We had some regular attendees and also
many stand-ins covering holidays etc. They were all fantastic and would have been welcome back again. There wasn't a single one who we thought we wouldn't want to come back. Horizon seems to have tapped into a rich seam of really lovely people. Fortunately, my mother was mentally very well, with no signs of dementia, and she enjoyed getting to know her carers who came from many different parts of the world. She loved finding out about their background, and we viewed them all as friends. When the time came for my mother's end-of-life care, we were very eager for Horizon to provide that. They did a great job in the difficult final week, making my mother's passing much easier. Many thanks!

It's now 12.00 and still without a carer. My mother is in tears and desperate for help. As much as I want to help for the sake of dignity my mother refuses until the carer arrives. Like I said this is not the first time but may well be the last! Atrocious lack of professionalism. I will be submitting
a claim to the public health authorities to notify them of this frustrating situation. Do not trust this company!

This review relates to January 2021 and the preceding 12 months.
Since this company purchased my previous homecare company I have experienced the worst care I ever have. I have been stalked by one carer, asked by another dressed more like a pole dancer than a carer if I would like a "massage", had
domestic assistance which could only be described as appalling, repeated changes to rota by several hours without any notification, even when informed I have hospital appointments to attend, advised up to six members of staff and still the call time changed until past my appointment.
The worst company ever!

Generally pleased with the care my mum has received, my only problem has been with mum getting a breakdown of who is coming each week and sometimes how early an evening visit is bearing in mind the carers are putting her in her nightclothes (she is not bedbound). On a plus note, they have tried hard
to give mum continuity of care which as I am still working gives me peace of mind and the carers really do care.

I am satisfied with the care that you are giving my husband every morning. He seems to get on with all his carers which is a good thing. They are usually on time unless there is a problem with the customer before or even the traffic.

My mother has in the closing stages of terminal cancer. She could look after herself most of the time but needed help to get ready for the day (cleaning and dressing). The Platinum Care At Home nurses provided exactly what she needed. They were compassionate; professional; caring; engaging and punctual.
Everyone of them was a perfect fit for us. Top class.

My daughter is always happy when the carers arrive to see her. She is always treated with respect and dignity. She enjoys her days out with them and they go to lots of different and exciting places to keep my daughter engaged in her surroundings. I have no concerns regarding the care she receives and

After an early hiccup where an evening carer did not turn up, carers have been very reliable. All have been friendly, polite and professional, therefore the standard of care is high. The agency has been very flexible in meeting the requested timings of care for my Mother.
