Astor Care & Nursing Agency has been providing private home care in the Guildford, Godalming, Woking, Farnham and Bordon areas for over 30 years and is rated 'GOOD' by CQC in all areas (February 2020).

Astor Care & Nursing Agency provides caring staff who treat clients with compassion, respecting dignity whilst encouraging independence.

Astor Care provides specialist care in clients' own homes for as long as possible. Care support can be from 1/2 hour per week to 24 hours live in care.

Care can be provided for people with both mental and physical health problems, including dementia.

Carers undergo a rigorous recruitment process before starting with Astor. On-going training is regularly provided to ensure they are delivering the best standard of care possible. You are welcome to call for an informal chat if you think you might be interested in joining them. Reliable, kind people are always a welcome addition to the team.

More specialist care is available for those with neurological disorders and acquired brain injury. Live-in care, palliative care and a bathability service are also offered.

Mum has received care from Astor Agency for many years now. She turned 100 at the end of 2024. Without the care and support from her excellent carers undoubtedly she would not have reached this milestone. They interact with her daily, laugh and have fun together, while supporting her needs. They monitor
her health and because they know her so well they can see any issues arising early. The carers are such an asset, making my life so much easier. I live over 200 miles away, visiting monthly, but I rest assured she is cared for wonderfully.

We've been using Astor Care for a year and have been most pleased with the Agency. The carers are very good, courteous, kind and generally extremely caring. They go the extra mile to see that my husband is happy with all they do for him. The management staff, also, have been extremely helpful.

From our first contact with the office staff and the initial visit from the supervisor to assess our needs, it was evident that the service was first class. Astor Care were able to send the same carer for our visits, which greatly assisted us in acclimatising to having a stranger administer personal
care, always a delicate matter. When our timetable needs varied, Astor Care allocated another carer whom we have used consistently since. Both ladies have been exceptionally professional and personable; we couldn't have asked for nicer people. The office staff efficiently and promptly deal with our communications. We have total confidence that Astor Care will provide the top quality staff whenever we ask for assistance. We have used Astor Care for the past 19 months and although paying for the services of any carer is never cheap, we consider it worthwhile, for our peace of mind, to pay a little bit more to receive a consistently high level of service.

I have been having an extremely hard time with things lately. My carers have gone so far beyond the call of duty, supporting me physically (as they always have) but also mentally with the huge change in my personal circumstances. Kind, caring, considerate, thoughtful, and individual are just some of
the many words I could use to describe the ladies, each one of them showing nothing but respect and compassion.
Going though one of the hardest times in my life whilst being disabled and having a fibromyalgia flare up was never going to be easy, but I've managed to see the light at the end of the tunnel thanks to my carers, I really don't know how I would of got throught without them, each one a true angel who I'm honoured to call my carers.
Thank you Astor Care, for all you do. Everyone from the carers to office staff plays their part in offering an individual client-centred approach.
I 100% recommend Astor to anyone looking for care for themselves or for a loved one.

I have been very impressed with the care given to my mum over these past six months. My mum was initially reluctant to have care but due to increasing frailty it became very clear that she required support with her daily living needs. The carers have been very kind and supportive and have made a huge
difference to my mum and enabled her to continue to live at home. The office are always super helpful and able to sort out any issues and extra requirements.

From the moment we had the initial meeting to discuss care needs for my family member Astor Care have been amazing. They really do listen and the quick and friendly response from the office staff is wonderful. Living some distance from my loved one is hard but knowing they have lovely carers who really
do care is a comfort. The office are super responsive, quick to deal with any issues, very polite and have contacted me when they have noticed any concerns. The carers have taken time to get to know my relative who now looks forward to their visits and company. Being able to see what the carers have done each visit via their app is an added bonus, it puts my mind at ease. They have truly made a difference.

My darling mum was very ill in hospital. We had been receiving exceptional care for both my wonderful parents. Astor Care & Nursing Agency provided 24-hour care for my father while I spent every minute by my mother's bedside. I will always be forever grateful and never forget the kindness of all the
carers and Astor Care. They enabled me to spend my darling mum's last days with her by her side. My dad received exceptional care, kindness and attention. They also kept in close contact with me to be there for me. I will never forget such kindness.

Staff generally friendly but have poor timekeeping. They have a lack of understanding of people’s needs, even though they say they are a nursing agency! Timekeeping is appalling; you never get the time you pay for, staff give false login and out details, and they forget people have cameras that are
time and date stamped - this is theft and taking advantage of vulnerable people.

Astor Care have been amazing at helping us care for our nan. Our nan has been really unwell this year. Since Astor Care started to help us our nan is now thriving and doing really well. She has put on weight and is starting to eat properly again. Astor Care are great with communication no matter how
many times I call or email. They are always happy to help. I don't know where we would be without them.

From the very first day we had Astor Care as our care provider, they showed my mother-in-law nothing but kindness, compassion and dignity. My daughter's abiding wish was for her 100-year-old grandmother to attend her wedding. This was only made possible by the kindness and cooperation of Astor Care & Nursing Agency, who provided a carer to look after my mum. This entailed collecting Mum from her home in the morning, attending the church
service and wedding reception and returning her to her home in the evening where she was then gotten ready for bed. I cannot praise the carer and Astor Care highly enough for their services. We all now share, as a family, cherished memories of a lovely day.

If you live in an area covered by Astor Care, I wholeheartedly recommend you look nowhere else for your carers. They are not the cheapest provider, but in our family's opinion, they are the best. They have not only provided an excellent standard of care for Mum's physical needs but have also helped
with her complex mental health needs. In the couple of months they have provided 4 care visits p/day, we've seen Mum's physical and mental health dramatically improve. I live 200 miles away from Mum, so the app they give family access to is invaluable. It enables me to manage Mum's care needs, whilst still being able to get on with my own life. The office staff are available 24/7, so problems are easily solved with a quick phone call, even a problem like the hospital wanting to discharge Mum at 11 pm on a Friday night! Astor carers actually care. They don't just do as asked, they see what needs doing and get on with it. Reassuring for Mum and I when we live so far apart.

Astor took on care from May 2021 and had to deal with increasingly difficult client needs. They did this with great care and attention always adapting to the deteriorating patient's situation. They showed a good level of sympathy and understanding despite the current difficulties around staffing. It
worked well to have one main carer who developed trust between client and carer and was excellent in coming up with new ideas and responding well to each new obstacle. Would firmly recommend Astor.

Astor Care agency had looked after mum for a while initially mornings, then afternoon visits too, and from December 21, overnight and evening care with her daughters coming in every day too. Nothing was too much trouble and they always went above and beyond with helping with Mum's care, professional,
caring, advice-giving. Mum enjoyed having her carers in and they all made a good relationship with her. The last month was hard and the carers supported us as a family as well. Would highly recommend.

Tracy Baldwinson

Job Title: Field Care Supervisor/Live in Manager

Joined: 2005

Since leaving education Tracy has always worked in Social Care. She completed her Level 5 in Adult Social Care qualification. Tracy joined Astor in May 2005. She completes supervisions, and assessments and monitors the well-being of both Staff and Clients in the Guildford and Godalming area.


Tracy also oversees the arrangements and staffing for our live-in care packages, ensuring that the appropriate placements are made.

Job Title: Field Care Supervisor/Trainer

Joined: 2012

Laura joined Astor Care in 2012 as a Health Care Assistant. She worked in that role for several years before coming to work in the office as a Care Coordinator. She has qualified as a Care Trainer and teaches all our in-house courses to our new staff and runs refresher training for our experienced staff. Laura then took on the role of Field Care Supervisor which she has undertaken in conjunction with her training role. Job Title: Office Angels

In the Office both Jo and Sammy (Care Coordinators) support the Field Care Supervisors for all areas covered by Astor. They are the friendly voice at the end of the telephone ensuring Clients and Health Care Assistants are fully supported.


We also have Caroline who is our Advertising and Administration Consultant and she makes sure that all Staff are compliant and liaises with Karen regarding advertising opportunities.
