Astor Care & Nursing Agency has been providing private home care in the Guildford, Godalming, Woking, Farnham and Bordon areas for over 30 years and is rated 'GOOD' by CQC in all areas (February 2020).

Astor Care & Nursing Agency provides caring staff who treat clients with compassion, respecting dignity whilst encouraging independence.

Astor Care provides specialist care in clients' own homes for as long as possible. Care support can be from 1/2 hour per week to 24 hours live in care.

Care can be provided for people with both mental and physical health problems, including dementia.

Carers undergo a rigorous recruitment process before starting with Astor. On-going training is regularly provided to ensure they are delivering the best standard of care possible. You are welcome to call for an informal chat if you think you might be interested in joining them. Reliable, kind people are always a welcome addition to the team.

More specialist care is available for those with neurological disorders and acquired brain injury. Live-in care, palliative care and a bathability service are also offered.

I started having Astor Care in May 2020. My son and daughter are amazed at the difference it has made and helped me to cope and it is nice to have a chat and laugh with them all. My life has been lifted to a higher level due to Abbot Care.

We could not be happier with the care my Nan receives. Astor was recommended to us because of their reputation. Which has exceeded anything we could have hoped for. My Nan loves the carers, there’s continuity and the carers always go above and beyond. The app provides reassurance and an opportunity
to keep up to date and pick up any concerns as soon as they arise. This transparency offers peace of mind to family members. We feel so much more at ease knowing that our Mum/Nan is getting such excellent genuine care.

Astor Care provided care for both my Mum and Dad and were professional, kind, caring and compassionate. All the carers we met were ready to help in any way they could. Astor provided continuity of carer whenever possible which helped my parents build a real friendship with their carer.

Unfortunately, I have had to have carers. Thought I might be bothered about being washed and dressed but it's all been fine. All carers are kind and considerate and put you at ease. They do what I need and now know the routine and where everything belongs. They do things like I would do for myself when
I could. I am happy when here. The company is nice.

We have been using the services of Astor for some time now for the care of my wife and they have been absolutely exemplary. All the time my wife's illness has progressed the carers have stepped up and performed brilliantly, coping with the increasing demands required. The carers have all been experienced,
shown great professionalism and compassion, and at all times carried out their work with good humour which has been greatly appreciated. A completely reliable service with support from the office whenever we have needed to get in touch to ask for changes or increases to the level of care required.
I would thoroughly recommend Astor to anyone who needs care in their home.

The care and commitment of the carers looking after my wife during her illness was second to none. Operating out of the Bordon office, all carers treated my wife with dignity and professionalism. It was confidence building to see how the carers, some quite young people, built up a relationship with
my wife, building trust in whatever functions they had to perform to get the job done. All care was undertaken with my wife's well-being as the paramount focus in everything they did. Confined to bed, she eventually looked forward to their visits regularly asking me what time they were coming. She saw the visits as a friendly chat as well as the necessary care that had to take place. On meeting wider members of the family, they too commented on their care and professionalism and the friendly manner in which they performed their duties. Thank you Astor Care for helping to make my wife's last few weeks as pleasant and comfortable as possible.


May I commend your agency and all the carers involved.

The carers are experienced ladies, resourceful, versatile and very helpful. They are attentive. I am very deaf and when they accompany me to an appointment, they intercept what is being said and relay it to me afterwards.

Several carers came to help me. They were all so helpful, they quickly remembered where everything was. They were also very understanding with my husband's memory problems.
They were always cheerful and friendly.

We approached Astor Care Agency to look after our mother whilst I (her carer) was in hospital for hip replacement and recovery.
They were always very accommodating as to our needs when my sister was not available to help and dealt with mum with care and dignity.
We were very pleased with their approach
and would not hesitate to recommend them.

She initially worked in the Finance Department and then, with the support of the Personal Development programme, completed her NVQ Level 5 in Adult Social Care to become the Registered Manager at Astor.

Tracy Baldwinson

Job Title: Field Care Supervisor/Live in Manager

Joined: 2005

Since leaving education Tracy has always worked in Social Care. She completed her Level 5 in Adult Social Care qualification. Tracy joined Astor in May 2005. She completes supervisions, and assessments and monitors the well-being of both Staff and Clients in the Guildford and Godalming area.


Tracy also oversees the arrangements and staffing for our live-in care packages, ensuring that the appropriate placements are made.

Laura Lawrence

Job Title: Field Care Supervisor/Trainer

Joined: 2012

Laura joined Astor Care in 2012 as a Health Care Assistant. She worked in that role for several years before coming to work in the office as a Care Coordinator. She has qualified as a Care Trainer and teaches all our in-house courses to our new staff and runs refresher training for our experienced staff. Laura then took on the role of Field Care Supervisor which she has undertaken in conjunction with her training role. Laura has recently passed her Level 5 in Leadership and Management for Adult Care.

Jo, Sammy and Caroline

Job Title: Office Angels

In the Office both Jo and Sammy (Care Coordinators) support the Field Care Supervisors for all areas covered by Astor. They are the friendly voice at the end of the telephone ensuring Clients and Health Care Assistants are fully supported.


We also have Caroline who is our Advertising and Administration Consultant and she makes sure that all Staff are compliant and liaises with Karen regarding advertising opportunities.
