Home Instead Southport & Formby services include companionship, home help, personal care, meal preparation, accompanying clients to appointments, post-hospital care and medication reminders. Assistance for short periods of time with 24-hour care subject to agreement can also be arranged subject to assessment.

Home Instead works closely with clients, clients' families and healthcare professionals to identify a person’s needs and the best way for a person to remain independent, confident and safe in their home.

Home Instead's Care Professionals receive specialist training, and are required to have a minimum of 4 references in addition to an enhanced (DBS) background check. They do not wear uniforms as this can create a barrier, particularly when a care professional accompanies a client out into the community.

At Home Instead, continuity of care is paramount, to ensure that Caregiver/client relationships are established, and to help identify any changes in a client's physical and mental wellbeing. This is particularly important for clients living with Dementia.

The care team were always attentive and understanding and became friends, as well as the carers.
The benefit of having a regular team of carers rather than a procession of new faces cannot be overstated.
Home Instead was always accommodating regarding changing care needs, and the communication with
the office staff was always very good.

I have enjoyed and benefitted from the Home Instead service. However, the sudden rise in the weekly cost of £2.50 caused me to dispense with the service. If you had raised the cost in increments I would not be complaining about the rise. I suggest maybe 50p, £1 and £1. If I were good at maths I would
be able to work out the percentage rise from £18.00 to £20.50 an hour. I hope carers' wages will rise accordingly.

Good service and good carers, they achieved their tasks adequately and professionally. If a lot more could have been achieved at an acceptable price, we may have been able to delay my mother going into a care/residential home.

Everything was efficiently managed by the office. We have two lovely caregivers who helped my husband with care and consideration. They were always cheerful and I was enormously appreciative of their help and friendliness.

Home Instead Southport have proved invaluable over the last two and a half years.
Dad always wanted to stay in the house that he moved to in 1971 – the home in which he and my Mum raised the family. Even though his eyesight gradually deteriorated and he needed more help, Dad wanted to live in his own
home rather than move to a care home. With the support of his lovely CareGivers, Dad managed to do this until the week before he died – aged 98.
Not only were Dad’s CareGivers kind and responsible but the Home Instead office staff were always helpful. The pandemic of the last two years has seen many challenges within the care sector and I can say that all the staff were consistently professional – their administration was spot-on and they always replied to requests promptly. They also listened and gave appropriate advice on the occasions when I was unsure how to manage a particularly tricky situation from my home 170 miles away.
I have no hesitation in recommending Home Instead Southport.

In 2020, when my wife was coming out of a nursing home and after asking various people, Home Instead was the one most recommended. The staff, with just two exceptions, were excellent. The two who I felt weren't up to standard were replaced without question. Nothing was too much trouble and all in all
they were excellent.
The only reason we stopped using the service was because of my wife returning to the nursing home.

I was expecting Mum to resist help from the carers they first started coming for Mum. However, I was extremely surprised how compassionate and professional. Her carers were very quickly managing to encourage Mum to let them help her.

Home Instead have been an absolute godsend to our family.
All through lockdown they never let us down. Nothing was ever too much trouble.

I wanted this help on a short term basis for my mums shopping to be done whilst I went in hospital for surgery. I chose Home Instead because I believed they could deliver a 1st class service.
My mum was willing to pay their higher fees because of this.
Unfortunately, this did not turn out to be
the case. and I was very disappointed with the service. We could have had a better service for half the price.

Very professionally both the caregivers and the office staff. Looked after my Dad from 2017 to 2019 and then my mum in 2021. We built up an excellent relationship. As with all professions, some caregivers didn't always give their best but most did and quite a few went above and beyond - they will know
who they are - and I'm so grateful, as were my mum and dad.

Excellent, timely, empathic care was provided by a small team to our mother, who was able to remain in sheltered accommodation longer than might otherwise have been the case. The small team, with our carer, who usually came six days out of seven every week, meant continuity, giving our mother confidence
in the service. This carer became like a close friend to our mother. She was helpful and efficient without being too intrusive.

The excellent care my Mum received from all the caregivers allowed her to be in her own home for longer than we could have hoped. The sensitivity shown to her growing needs through dementia was greatly appreciated. We had real peace of mind that she was well looked after by a regular team of carers.
The communication with the office staff certainly made things run smoothly.

For nearly 8-years, I have used Home Instead to care for my uncle, who has Alzheimer's and Dementia. They have always been there for any situation that has arisen. The caregivers have adapted their various talents to help my uncle in every aspect of his care needs, which changed over the years.

Outstanding care and special mention to the staff who go beyond what is expected e.g. providing emergency cover when Aunty waited 9 hours for an ambulance. Carers and leaders are very focused on my aunty's needs and preferences. She felt reassured, looked after and cared for.

My father has had Home Instead Southport for the past several years. They have been magnificent in every way, the managers in the office and the carers attending my father. Unfortunately, he is getting worse. However, Home Instead have adapted to meet his needs and allowed him to live independently
in his own apartment. They are professional, responsible, caring, knowledgeable, fast-acting and trustworthy. To be like that takes a remarkable organisation with high standards.

Leanne

Leanne Stubbs

Job Title: Operations Manager - with Registered Manager Duties

Joined: 2007

Leanne’s role is to oversee all operational aspects of our service whilst remaining responsible as Registered Manager. This ensures that along with the management team, all of our clients are cared for in a safe and dignified manner. A lot of Leanne's time is spent ensuring that everything is in place for each client and that where appropriate referrals to other health and social care specialists, are made. Leanne also goes out to meet people who are interested in using the service and spends time with people to ensure that they receive the best possible service, tailored to meet their individual needs and preferences. Having had personal experience of caring for a loved one with Dementia, Leanne understands the challenges faced by family members and is passionate about ensuring that the care provided to every single one of our clients, is consistent, reliable and adaptable to meet peoples changing needs.


Leanne has gained a qualification in care management and leadership and in 2008 Leanne gained a BSc honours in Therapy Radiography. Prior to joining the office team, Leanne worked as a Caregiver for a number of different care agencies, Leanne now feels that at last, she has found a company that has time to care for its clients and provides quality service.


Charlotte

Charlotte Baines

Job Title: Head of Client Experience

Joined: 2010

Charlotte joined Home Instead as a Care Professional in 2010 becoming a Senior in 2012 and then swiftly joining the office support team. She soon established a reputation for delivering a first-class service with empathy and care for all.


Promoted to Deputy Care Manager in 2016 and then onto Head of Client Experience Charlotte is often the face of Home Instead when she first meets families to talk about the benefits of homecare with Home Instead.


Charlotte is passionate about delivering on our promises to clients and their families and will stand in for Leanne during holiday periods.
