Assistance for short periods of time with 24-hour care subject to agreement can also be arranged subject to assessment.

Home Instead works closely with clients, clients' families and healthcare professionals to identify a person’s needs and the best way for a person to remain independent, confident and safe in their home.

Home Instead's Care Professionals receive specialist training, and are required to have a minimum of 4 references in addition to an enhanced (DBS) background check. They do not wear uniforms as this can create a barrier, particularly when a care professional accompanies a client out into the community.

At Home Instead, continuity of care is paramount, to ensure that Caregiver/client relationships are established, and to help identify any changes in a client's physical and mental wellbeing. This is particularly important for clients living with Dementia.

We first needed care about three years ago. Their professionalism was evident on first contact. They transformed my life, knowing that my mother was being cared for by friendly and concerned carers, was wonderful. Anything that they were concerned about was referred to me immediately. They regularly
check on paperwork and customer satisfaction - everyone is cheerful and friendly; the caregivers are precisely that. I cannot recommend them highly enough. They are reliable, friendly and flexible - just wonderful!

My cousin was supported by Home Instead earlier this year. Sadly, she passed away unexpectedly only two weeks after support began at the age of just 34. Although she only received support for a very short period of time, Home Instead had a profoundly positive impact on her well-being during this time.
My cousin had Aspergers, and we were looking for a provider to support her in increasing her independence and confidence in accessing the community. From start to finish, the staff at Home Instead went the extra mile. The team visited my cousin and I in her own home to discuss what she would like to achieve from their support. They then carefully considered my cousin's likes and interests and selected a member of staff with similar interests. My cousin praised Home Instead during the two weeks of support she received. This was of great reassurance to my family and I, as we don't live locally. After her sudden death, Home Instead showed great kindness to my family and me, it is the genuine sincerity and care for clients and their loved ones that lead me to highly recommend their service to anyone looking for a personalised high standard service.

Staff were always pleasant and helpful to both of my parents and even managed to take mum out regularly, which was no easy task.
Very quickly increased mum's care when dad took ill and passed away subsequently. This allowed me to spend valuable time with dad during his last days.

My mum's health deteriorated rapidly earlier in the year, and following a period in hospital, we agreed that she needed help in her home. Having researched a number of providers in Southport I contacted Home Instead as I was particularly keen that my mum had continuity of care.


I was very impressed

with the offer and the fact that my mum would see the same carers each week. She now has carers twice a day and has built excellent relationships with them, seeing them as friends. Regular meals, medicines administered correctly and someone to chat to have all contributed to an improvement in her health and, although she still suffers from some memory loss, she's so much better than she was.


I've been particularly impressed with Home Instead's ability to adapt to my mum's changing needs quickly and with their feedback mechanisms. As there is no family locally it's important that I'm alerted immediately if my mum has a problem and Home Instead contact me quickly and efficiently.

Disclaimer - until becoming disabled last year I was a Home Instead caregiver myself.
I have always been proud to be Home Instead, but now having seen it from both sides I'm even prouder. All staff come exactly on time, do whatever is required of them, and are like old friends. It's a joy to see
them, whether I'm well enough to interact that day, or they pack me off to bed to rest.
I have tried other care companies and there is just no comparison. Home Instead are professional, caring, and always go the extra mile to ensure clients can LIVE.

We have been looking for help with Mum on a regular basis as she is 89 and her mobility and memory are failing. We wanted to be sure that Mum would get the best possible care and we specifically wanted to be sure that the ‘carers’ would be the same people each week so that Mum could hopefully build
a rapport with them and therefore feel that they would become companions as well. We also wanted the carers to be able to take Mum out and do any shopping as well as helping around the house.
After getting very positive comments from people who had used them and also from people, who had been employed by them in the past we were very happy to ask them to help.
Mum now has regular visits from two caregivers each week. We were understandably anxious on how things would go but we need not have worried. From the first visit, Mum has had nothing but praise for both of the ladies. They have obviously put Mum at her ease and their help is invaluable to Mum and to us (her children).

I have been poorly for many years and had care from different service providers. I can truly say Home Instead is one of the best care providers in this area. You don't always get it but this company are amazing from the office right to the people who come and do the job. Totally professional with a
friendly caring and comfortable interaction with me. When my illness is worse or I need extra help to get to the hospital they always do their best to arrange it for me. They have never let me down. I am really grateful to have Home Instead as my care provider. Thank you to them so much.

I have previously had carers from two other companies and my comments are based on comparisons with them.
The carers from Home Instead have always arrived on time and stayed for a full hour, sometimes even longer. They have been cheerful, empathetic, professional and always willing to do whatever is

The service provided by Home Instead to our family over the past 18 months has been invaluable as my siblings and I live at considerable distances from our parent's home.
The office quickly and expertly assessed how best to support our father, taking great care to identify a suitable companion to help
with his shopping and household organisation. This companion quickly developed an excellent rapport with our mother and handicapped brother who lived with them and the confidence of my sisters and other brothers.
Home Instead's flexible and caring attitude allowed us to continue to have the same person to provide companionship for our brother during the difficult period up to and following our father's demise and greatly eased the subsequent transition for him and our mother both moving into residential homes.
Since then this person has been able to provide companionship to both, acting as an important link weekly between the two and a reassurance to the rest of the family who cannot visit so frequently.
The advice and support from the office too has been consistently helpful and reassuring and has helped the family to come through a major change in circumstances.

It would be impossible to state exactly how brilliant Home Instead Southport were. From the management and administrative staff to all the carers (we had 12 carers in total), the professionalism, compassion and understanding shown by all was fantastic.
At one of the worst times in our lives, Home Instead
gave us a peace of mind that our Mum was in safe, competent and caring hands.
As Mum's condition worsened, Home Instead went that extra 100 miles to help us - Red Tape was dispensed with and each time we faced a new hurdle, they stepped up and faced the challenge with us.
It was reassuring that as new staff member came in, the existing Team L introduced the new faces that meant Mum felt she was being cared for by a team that understood her and her needs.
If anyone ever asks me how we coped with such a hard and stressful time, I would always say that we could not have done it without Home Instead and their support, their care and compassion.
We thank each and every member of Team L! To us, they were personal!

After we changed the caregiver company to Home Instead dads mood definately improved.
The caregivers treated him with kindness and respect and he loved chatting to them. They always arrived on time and never rushed him helping him where necessary but leaving him to do things independently when he was
able. Very professional caregivers and in the office. I am using them for mum now that dad has died.

Leanne Stubbs

Job Title: Operations Manager - with Registered Manager Duties

Joined: 2007

Leanne’s role is to oversee all operational aspects of our service whilst remaining responsible as Registered Manager. This ensures that along with the management team, all of our clients are cared for in a safe and dignified manner. A lot of Leanne's time is spent ensuring that everything is in place for each client and that where appropriate referrals to other health and social care specialists, are made. Leanne also goes out to meet people who are interested in using the service and spends time with people to ensure that they receive the best possible service, tailored to meet their individual needs and preferences. Having had personal experience of caring for a loved one with Dementia, Leanne understands the challenges faced by family members and is passionate about ensuring that the care provided to every single one of our clients, is consistent, reliable and adaptable to meet peoples changing needs.


Leanne has gained a qualification in care management and leadership and in 2008 Leanne gained a BSc honours in Therapy Radiography. Prior to joining the office team, Leanne worked as a Caregiver for a number of different care agencies, Leanne now feels that at last, she has found a company that has time to care for its clients and provides quality service.

Charlotte Baines

Job Title: Head of Client Experience

Joined: 2010

Charlotte joined Home Instead as a Care Professional in 2010 becoming a Senior in 2012 and then swiftly joining the office support team. She soon established a reputation for delivering a first-class service with empathy and care for all.


Promoted to Deputy Care Manager in 2016 and then onto Head of Client Experience Charlotte is often the face of Home Instead when she first meets families to talk about the benefits of homecare with Home Instead.


Charlotte is passionate about delivering on our promises to clients and their families and will stand in for Leanne during holiday periods.
