JC Home Care is a small, independent, family-run business based near Masham, North Yorkshire.

They provide high-quality care to clients aged 18 or over with wide-ranging needs, enabling them to continue living independently in their own homes. Areas covered include Masham, Bedale, Leyburn, Ripon, Richmond and the surrounding villages.

With over 45 professional, caring and well-trained support workers, JC Home Care provides services ranging from one-hour calls to 24-hour live-in care, including anything from companionship and basic domestic support through to managing complex conditions such as Multiple Sclerosis and Parkinson’s disease. They also offer respite and palliative care and support several clients with dementia.

The care given follows detailed care plans, tailored to the specific needs and wishes of each client. These are drawn up from information gathered from the client and from relatives or friends during an initial visit and updated as and when changes occur.

Clients are visited by the same friendly support workers each week at the times which suit the client best. All calls are for a minimum of one hour, as the company believes that high-quality care cannot be delivered in less than an hour.

Staff go through a careful selection process, which includes disclosure and barring service (DBS) checks. They are capable, caring and receive in-depth training, which is updated on a regular basis.

J C Home Care have been providing care for my mother for about a year now and I am very thankful that I have found such a professional and caring company for her. All aspects of the service are efficient, the carers are always kind and respectful, reliable and responsive to my requests and mum's needs.

Initially, Jane Caress Ltd's staff came to care for my husband, and they were exemplary, kind, professional and very thoughtful. They also helped me personally, and I could not fault the care recieved. Knowing that certain members of the team would arrive consistently was comforting, and allowed me
to strike up a very good relationship with them. In addition, the office and administrative support staff were very helpful and efficient.

There have been many occasions when the team have

A carer comes to my home once a month for 48 hours to give me respite from caring for my husband.
Last month whilst I was away my husband suffered a T.I.A. The carer got help immediately and my husband was taken into hospital. The carer was exemplary, she coped with the situation efficiently, professionally,
and with great compassion. She went to the hospital with my husband and stayed with my husband all day until I was able to get there.
The owner of the care agency kept me informed at all times, which was so comforting.

The manager and her team took care of my father in the last 6 months of his life. How we ever managed without them I don’t know. They cared for Dad with respect, empathy and kindness and were sympathetic to all his needs. Importantly, the support they gave us as a family was second to none. I cannot
recommend the manager and her team highly enough, they really are 5-star.

Couldn’t ask for a better treatment and thoughtfulness, every need thought of, and other needs suggested and then a check to see everything had happened. For example: was I satisfied that the treatment was happening; was the kettle I was using too heavy; was access to the toilet reasonable?

3. But, perhaps most importantly, the carer engaged and communicated with the client in a very positive fashion.

Very organised. Looks after stuff and makes me feel like I have a friend. The girls are trained in what people need and make me feel safe. Whatever is done is done right. Nothing is too much.

I was very impressed by the dedication and compassion shown by Jane Caress carers when looking after my next-door neighbour. They were friendly and trustworthy and their devotion to him was never in question. He always looked forward to their visits and they were a real tonic for him, especially in
his later years. I recommend them to anyone looking for someone to care for a loved one.

Jane Caress and her team looked after my very elderly father in his house for over three years, including right through the pandemic and until his very peaceful death at home aged 94. The team cooked, shopped and cleaned for my father but most of all provided company and friendship. In the last year
or so they provided personal care too and everything was always to the highest standard of professionalism and good cheer. Very highly recommended.

Having been in hospital and needing help with personal care on discharge, I chose Jane Caress Ltd because my brother and a friend had used them and had excellent service. Initially, the manager visited me at home and took note of all my details, background, family, interests and care needs. This allowed
her to match a carer with me and agreed on the frequency of visits. Their care was excellent, and as well as personal care, they were able to assist with anything else I needed help with.

Jane Caress’s carers looked after my mother for over 10 years until her death.
I lived 150 miles away, so had to depend on them almost entirely for Mother’s care and the day-to-day running of the house.
They were brilliant at both! They were always professional as well as friendly and very, very kind.

As I was under 65 when I started and not physically disabled, I couldn't find a care company who would help me. The staff are extremely helpful; they are professional and show great welcome and sensitivity to what is needed. I feel very understood. An agoraphobic is very misunderstood, I have been helped
to realise my worth.

I cannot recommend Jane Caress Ltd highly enough. My daughter was getting married, and it was important to her that her grandmother be able to attend. My mother was not well enough to be there for the whole wedding, and we needed someone to look after her and bring her home early. A friend recommended
Jane Caress, and when we contacted them, they immediately wanted to help, even though it was not something they usually did. Both the owner and carer who would be with us on the day came to meet Mum and I beforehand, and Mum kept remarking how nice they both were. On the day, the carer was invaluable. She helped Mum get organised when the house was in panic mode, without being asked. The carer looked after her at the ceremony and then brought her home. She stayed with Mum until she went to bed. I was able to enjoy the wedding knowing Mum was well taken care of. It meant so much to her and to all the family that she was able to be at the wedding.

I can't praise Jane Caress highly enough. My dad lived alone, and it was important to him to stay as independent as possible for as long as possible. When we started looking into home care, Jane Caress came highly recommended. The managing director organised a home visit, and we were reassured by her
knowledge, professionalism and empathy. The support workers, without exception, were absolutely fantastic with Dad. They were so kind, caring, compassionate, and went above and beyond on many occasions. Dad was a private man who struggled with change and meeting new people, but because the support workers shared his sense of humour, he so looked forward to their visits. Dads needs, and therefore care plan frequently changed due to Alzheimer's. Changes were quickly and seamlessly implemented, and I must praise the girls in the office who were always super helpful and patient with me on the numerous times I needed to make updates. I would, without hesitation, recommend the Jane Caress team to anyone looking for home care.
