I am usually asked what I need. Care is taken to see that I do not consume any food or drink which has been kept beyond the latest date for safe use. The carer will usually check if I have taken or I'm ready to take my prescribed medication, also if I am wearing my emergency alarm. The carer changes
items of clothing when necessary and informs me when I need to add anything to the shopping list in the way of food and drink. Before leaving the carer reports all is done and asks if any further service is required and will promptly do anything I might mention. I have not mentioned everything the carers do but they quickly do different things at different times of the day.

During the time that Agincare has been coming into our home to give support and help to my husband, they have all shown us the utmost respect and given him dignity when assisting him in the shower and washing him. It is always a pleasure to receive them into our home with their friendly faces and cheerful
demeanour.

It has been a source of concern & frustration for our family. While I appreciate the friendly demeanour of the staff, the overall level of care has not met our expectations. One of the most pressing issues has been the lack of attention to basic hygiene. Despite our repeated requests, my father is not
consistently encouraged to take showers, which is essential for his well-being. The timing of the caregivers' visits has been problematic. On several occasions, they have arrived late, often just before lunchtime, which disrupts my father's routine and leaves him without proper morning care. It's concerning that these visits, are instead rushed & inadequate. A significant issue is the lack of attention to his clothing. Multiple times for staff to ensure he is wearing clean clothes, yet this has not been consistently addressed. While I want to acknowledge the friendly nature of the staff, which is certainly a positive aspect, it is not enough to compensate for the shortcomings in care.

Reply from Jasmine Knox, Deputy Manager at Agincare Andover (Home Care & Live-in Care)

Thank you for taking the time to share your concerns. We sincerely apologise that your father's care has not met your expectations, and I understand the frustration this has caused. We are addressing the issues you mentioned. We will ensure that your father is consistently encouraged to maintain proper hygiene, and I will personally work with our team to improve the timing and quality of visits to better fit his routine. Additionally, we will ensure that his clothing is regularly checked and kept clean, as this is a basic and important aspect of his care. While we appreciate your kind words about our staff, we know that friendliness alone is not enough, and we are committed to improving in the areas where we've fallen short. Please feel free to contact us directly on 01264 369491 so we can further discuss how we can provide the level of care your father deserves.

We have had daily care for my wife since July 2021. In sometimes difficult times, Agincare has always attended. They are responsive to special needs. We have good relationships with the carers and value particularly the care provided by our regular carer.

I have been with Agincare for a few years now as a service user. I am a disabled parent, and I struggle with the inability of Agincare to change my times during the school holidays, especially summer as it is 6 weeks. I have to either have the 7 am slot of term time or go without morning care. This
makes an already tiring and difficult month and a half increase in difficulty and I need increased care from my young carer children if I do not have my partner staying with us. The inflexible nature of the care hours available is an issue for a family with children, as a whole. I obviously do not expect them to change the diary daily for us, however, when asking for a longer-term change of hours, such as earlier on a Sunday, we were left with cancelling Sunday care altogether as the only option. This is difficult as last-minute laundry and school preparation for the week happen on a Sunday, and I am without my care and support. I would like it to be more flexible for moving hours.

Reply from Jasmine Knox, Deputy Manager at Agincare Andover (Home Care & Live-in Care)

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. we sincerely appreciate your feedback and understand how important flexible care arrangements are. We strive to provide the best support possible and I regret that we fell short in accommodating your needs for adjusted care hours. We would love to discuss this further and explore how we can better meet your requirements. Please feel free to reach out to us directly by contacting the office, so we can work together to find a solution that fits your family's needs. Thank you for your continued trust in Agincare. Poor medication administration.
Poor following instructions on their care plan.
Poor communication with clients' family.
Days when my dad doesn't get any food prepared for the whole day.
No understanding of dementia.

Reply from Jasmine Knox, Deputy Manager at Agincare Andover (Home Care & Live-in Care)

Thank you for bringing your concerns to our attention. We genuinely regret to hear about the difficulties you and your father have experienced with our services. It's clear that we did not meet your expectations and for that, we sincerely apologise. Medication administration and proper care planning are critical, especially for clients living with dementia. We are particularly concerned about the instances of poor communication and meal preparation. These are areas we take seriously and your feedback highlights the need for improvement. We would appreciate the opportunity to discuss your experiences in more detail. We feel so lucky to have our particular carer but on the days she doesn't come we are very pleased to have an alternative. All the carers employed by Agincare work to a very high standard and we are more than happy to have them in our home and find all the carers to be friendly, helpful, and respectful.

Agincare provides take-a-break care of 4 hours per week for me and is paid for by Hampshire Adult Services. I am the primary carer for my husband who has Parkinson's' (Stage 4). They have all been lovely. All tasks are well carried out and they are companionable and friendly people. We always know who
is coming (One Touch schedule) and as far as they are able they are always on time.
Contact with the office is easy, helpful, and friendly.

An excellent group of carers visit us daily. They are knowledgeable, compassionate, and do an excellent job. The visit scheduling and communication by the office can at times be a little erratic, but that is not a major issue and is normally good.

Girls arrive at each visit with a greeting and a smile. Treated with respect and dignity. Talk while care is given. Happy with all carers and care given each visit. Room always tidied and soiled pads etc put in outside bin, laundry put in washing machine or if machine already in use beside machine in
utility room.

I am very pleased with the level of care provided for my Mum. Mum has a regular carer who understands her needs and goes about her daily visits with efficiency and friendliness.
A recent Care Review took place which was very thorough. It updated Mum’s circumstances and was carried out with understanding
and good humour.
I would recommend Agincare to anyone needing elderly care.

Thank you so much for such a positive review of the service provided to your mum. Staff take great pleasure in her support – I will of course pass on your comments to them as well as the office staff member who undertook the recent review.

We never have any problems with the staff - they are all very friendly, helpful and polite. They always treat my husband with respect and preserve his dignity at all times. They have the training and observational skills that allow them to recognise if further help is required and advise if medical
help is needed.

The carers themselves are, in the main, excellent and dedicated. They are knowledgeable and friendly and provide a consistently high level of care.
The rota management does require improvement - changes often happen with little notice, which does cause frustration. I do understand that unforeseen events
do occur, delays happen, and rota changes are the result. What is not consistent, however, is the client being informed. Sometimes, we are told, but not on other occasions.

Reply from Steve Tayler, Manager at Agincare Andover (Home Care & Live-in Care)

Rota's are a big problem. We have only had 4 rota's which gave us a week's carers.
After three years, the service should be better. We cannot make any plans for the day when we have no rota. We get rotas with times own but no carer. The times are a help.

As the principal carer for my mother, I am provided with a weekly, three-hour 'sit' with her', so that I can go out.
Unfortunately, the organisation and implementation of this have been problematic.
There have been late cancellations, time slippages and poor communication with us.
There have been
improvements lately and I have no problem with the performance of the staff who attend.
I would like to be able to rely on the sits to take place as scheduled.
