Bluebird Care Ayrshire and Glasgow South is a multi-award-winning care service that understands that the core ability and performance of staff is the key to its success, with robust support and training in place to ensure that clients get the most out of the skills and expertise available.

The company firmly believes that a happy, well trained and supported workforce is key to delivering a service that is second to none.

All provision is tailored to suit the individual, with visits from 60-minute care visits up to sleepovers, respite or more complex needs, including live-in care. Bluebird Care Ayrshire and Glasgow Souths care is firmly centred around what is best for the customer, which is why they do not charge 'management fees', or have a minimum of so many hours per day or week, they tailor the visits around what is best for YOU!

Ongoing quality training keeps standards high and care workers take pride in good communication, alongside a local friendly service that shows compassion to both clients and their loved ones.

Recognised by care professionals within the care sector as a top quality service, Bluebird Care Ayrshire and Glasgow South were awarded 'Scottish Care at Home Provider of the Year 2017'.

Bluebird Care Ayrshire and Glasgow South are annually visited by the Care Inspectorate and after an unannounced inspection in February 2020, they were again awarded Grades of 6 'EXCELLENT', for the quality of their staffing and management and leadership, for the 7th year running. These consistently high grades are, they believe, unmatched within the care at home sector in Scotland and shows their consistent approach to both customers and staff.

They believe that the service is only as good as the staff that provide the care and they are robust in their recruitment process to only employ the best people available - people they would want for their own family and friends.

All the carers are brilliant. Very friendly, pay attention to detail. It's a good company, together with helping to keep my mum safe.
I trust them to look after my mum and have her best interests at heart.
My mum really looks forward to her time out each week when she goes to the shops.

Mum reports she has felt cared for, listened to, supported and safe with her carers from Bluebird. Also stated she has not felt "rushed" to complete her tasks, enjoying their company and chat.
I felt her carers were especially good at helping to create and maintain a homely atmosphere while respecting
her space.
The management team were always on hand with information and advice, providing a flexible, person-centred care plan and responding quickly to any concerns raised.
One improvement would have been to be able to provide visit times in line with the usual routines Mum had for meals and medications. Unfortunately, as widely reported, there is a chronic shortage of care staff all over the country, and this is not a reflection of the overall care provided by all Bluebird staff involved in Mum's care.
We are both very appreciative and thankful for all your help and support.

Bluebird Care is a friendly and supportive team. The carers are excellent and I enjoy their company. They treat me with respect and help me with personal matters if I ask. Recently when I've been upset they have listened and helped me to process situations occurring in my life. The office staff are
really helpful and although they are very busy they take the time to listen to any suggestions or concerns I have. They try to accommodate me if there are any changes to my schedule and try to allocate the carers that I like.
I feel very looked after and I'm thankful for their help and support.

Bluebird has been caring for my husband since 2017. He was diagnosed with Alzheimer´s so he has been needing more and more support. Now he gets support four times a day from two carers each visit. They are so good and nice. Also, the office staff is very helpful and kind. I am so happy we are Bluebird
customers. A big Thank you.

I have Power of Attorney for my friend and we have used Bluebird for some 6 years. Management has always been helpful but over the past year, when Management changed, the Manager who has dealt with me could not have been more helpful or understanding. At no time did she give the impression that we
were asking unreasonable questions. My friend has now gone into full-time care and the Manager has been so very very helpful to me during the weeks when I've been looking for a suitable Care Home and the transition. She is a credit to Bluebird. Over the years the Carers who have come to offer personal care and social visits with my friend have without exception been so very caring, understanding, courteous and altogether met the needs of my 91-year-old friend. They have allowed her to keep her dignity and have become friends. Although my friend is now in full-time care I hope to continue using Bluebird for social visits for her. I could not recommend Bluebird more highly.

Although I posted a review here in Oct 21, I wanted to praise Bluebird again for the continuing excellent care given to mum. There have been very many issues to deal with regarding mum and they have dealt with them all so professionally. The Bluebird staff, whether in the office or caring, always
aim to give great care, often in challenging circumstances. They always keep me informed if needed as I don't live nearby. The carers are wonderful ladies, and my mum speaks highly of them all. Also, I love the fact that I can log on to the app and check how mum is without having to bother Bluebird directly. Definitely recommend them. How care should be.

Thank you so much for taking the time to review our service again. We are proud as punch to maintain our high standards despite what is thrown at us. Your comments have been passed on to mum's care team.

There are a number of points I would like to highlight regarding the excellent care from Bluebird.
The Carers who visit have built up an excellent relationship with my friend (who I have power of attorney for). My friend looks forward to one of the carers in particular visiting. She spends time
with her, helping her in many different ways, from clearing out piles of hoarded papers to helping my friend with recording her many memories. They seem to have built up a very positive relationship. I would say that both carers have my friend's welfare genuinely at heart. They are kind, caring and carry out all tasks carefully and with attention to my friend's needs. Over the past number of months, there has been a change in management. I would like to give my appreciation to the manager. I feel confident that I can contact her anytime, to discuss my friend or make other arrangements. Communication has been very, very good and I am kept up to date at all times.

Bluebird Care Glasgow South have been extremely helpful to accommodate all of my mother's needs. She is elderly and feels comfortable with her carers who she really likes. The carers are lovely and alert us to any additional needs for my mum. The office staff are also extremely approachable, flexible
and helpful. They listen to the clients and try to ensure that all their requests are implemented.

Bluebird Care have been providing a service to my father since October 2020. We are extremely pleased with the service, all staff have provided a caring and compassionate service. My father is able to stay in his own home and keep his independence. He looks forward to seeing all of the staff that support
him, they brighten up his day. Staff have gone above and beyond their remit, their kindness is heartwarming. It gives me peace of mind to know he is being well cared for. Thank you to all the staff, you do an amazing job.

Bluebird has been an invaluable help over the last year during this covid period when I have been personally unable to travel to visit my parents as often as I would normally. It eases the worry knowing that they will be taken to all appointments that come up and visited in their home to make sure all
is well. Communication is always easeful and carers friendly helpful and capable.

Reply from Jane Perry, Director at Bluebird Care Glasgow South

We are so thrilled to receive your review of our service for your parents. This really means a lot to everyone in the Team here at Bluebird Care.

Bluebird are very easy to communicate with. They listen carefully to concerns or requests and always strive to meet needs and match carers to clients. The carers are very pleasant, caring, discreet and only too happy to do anything asked of them. Our experience of dealing with Bluebird has been very
positive. I have already recommended them to an elderly family friend and would not hesitate to do so again to anyone else. Thank you!

Bluebird Care provided care for my 91-year-old mother after she moved into sheltered housing accommodation, a few days before Lockdown. The service was only to be provided for a twelve-week period for my mum before being changed over to East Renfrewshire. They were truly amazing and I cannot fault them
in any way. My mum was obviously in a very strange environment, to begin with, and the carers were very reassuring to her. My mum felt respected, well cared for and always said ‘they’re all lovely lasses’.
I have no hesitation in recommending Bluebird Care to others.

The carers I have coming in to get mum up in the morning and washed and ready for bed at night are very professional and also caring. They work around mums specific needs very well. They are friendly and get on well with mum and also the rest of my family. I couldn't fault them at all. The office also
responds to any changes or questions I have promptly.

Jane Perry started her home care journey with her husband, John back in 2008 when they purchased Bluebird Care Edinburgh. She has since opened offices in Glasgow South and Ayrshire.

Over the years, Jane has worked tirelessly to ensure she has a good team around her with the same passion for delivering high-quality, person-centric home care.

She got involved in the care sector when she was looking for home care for her grandmother in Glasgow back in 2008, she was appalled at the lack of knowledge, services, and general attitude of the companies she contacted. This set off a ‘light bulb’ moment...

After extensive research, she, after many meetings and careful consideration, chose Bluebird Care as they shared her ethos of providing a good old-fashioned service along with the ongoing support required to get her business up and running.

With Jane’s strong leadership together with her management team, she ensures overall that the interests and well-being of all customers and her team are met.

Working with multidisciplinary teams and integrating with other leaders in the Social Care sector, Jane is still as driven now as she ever was, to deliver the best, home care service possible.

Outside of work, Jane loves listening to music, good food and wine, spending time with her family and let’s not forget taking her dog (and best friend), Robbie for a walk on the beach.
