Bluebird Care (Reading, Wokingham, Windsor, Maidenhead and Bracknell) provides care at home to older people and those with learning or physical disabilities. Care at home is a great alternative to a residential care home or nursing home, with care tailored to individual needs.

There is a large team of care assistants supported by a professional and experienced office team who all aim to provide the highest quality home care services to customers. They provide thorough training and support to care staff, with many care workers specialising in caring for people living with dementia, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, terminal illnesses and sensory impairments. The team are also passionate about giving back to the community and have supported local charities such as the Guide Dogs for the Blind, Duchess of Kent House and the Alzheimer's Society.

They are one of the leading home care providers in the area, working closely with local charities and support groups, Reading Borough Council, Wokingham Borough Council and the local CCG.

Generally, very happy with the service that is provided although being very new to this, it is difficult at this time, to make any comparative or constructive comments.
My wife, who is the person being cared for, has commented that she would be more comfortable if the carer attending was more consistent
rather than having four or five different carers during the week however I do accept that as we are a relatively new client of Bluebird Care, that this could take a bit more time to achieve.

I started using "Bluebird Care" for my husband's care in September 2024. He'd had a stroke and couldn't walk, so needed carers morning and evening. The carers have done their job efficiently and with an understanding of his needs. They are kind, always cheerful, conscious of our well-being and I would
highly recommend this company.

It's the simple repetitive jobs in running a home that the carers do I find most helpful. Having recently had back surgery, I was unable to empty the rubbish and whilst I could still fill or empty the dishwasher, do the washing and hang it out to dry - it took ages. The carers willingly did it. It was
a tremendous relief for someone to take responsibility and the reliability was 100%.

Reply from Rebecca Hawkins, Managing Director at Bluebird Care Reading, Wokingham, Windsor, Maidenhead & Bracknell

Thank you so much for your kind and thoughtful review. We're delighted to hear that our carers were able to provide the help and support you needed during your recovery. We understand how challenging it can be to manage daily tasks while recovering from surgery and it's wonderful to know that our team could ease the burden and give you peace of mind. Your acknowledgment of their reliability and willingness to help means a great deal to us, as we strive to provide the highest level of care and support to all our customers.

Bluebird Care is an absolutely fabulous organisation.
From managers, to office staff, to care providers, they are helpful, cheerful, kind and knowledgeable.
I know my mum is in the best hands with Bluebird.
The carers kindly take my mum to appointments, clean mum's flat and look after her on fun
trips out. Mum loves the carer's company too.
I honestly don't know how our family would manage without the help and care we all get from Bluebird.

My mum has been very pleased with the help and company she has been getting from Bluebird Care. She doesn't allow them to do much housework but that's fine - me and my sister are glad that she has a daily visit, so we know she has seen another human each day and there is someone to help if we can't
visit.

My mother has been a customer at Bluebird Care for many years and has a carer routinely each morning for personal care and a domestic call once a week. More recently, her memory, especially short-term, is becoming less and less; she constantly appears anxious and requires her carers to talk to her through
her daily personal care. Therefore, it is key for her to have her familiar carers who know her routine and can reassure her and make her feel comfortable. They have patience and understanding, are very kind and will engage in conversation, keeping her calm, which is so important for her.
I feel able to ask for an additional visit at fairly short notice if required and am confident the office will do their best to accommodate us. Communications could be improved if the timings on the schedule received are changed at short notice we are not always informed.
However, most importantly, I feel totally reassured that Mum receives the best care possible due to the regular carers who make for a happy, relaxed and friendly atmosphere. At present, her health issues, whilst gradually worsening, she appears quite happy and content. My thanks to all.

Vicky has been a part of the Bluebird Care team since 2015, starting as a carer and working her way up to her current role as a Recruitment and Marketing Coordinator. Her can-do attitude and positive approach have made her an invaluable asset to the team, and she has developed amazing relationships with both carers and customers alike.

When Vicky was a Customer Care Champion, Vicky mentored new staff, assessed customers’ needs, and shared ideas on how the team can improve. Now, in her current role, she loves talking to potential carers and using her experience in care to identify those who have what it takes to join the highly skilled team at Bluebird Care. Vicky describes her colleagues as more of a family than work colleagues and loves being a part of such a supportive team.

When Vicky isn't busy at work or being a mum to her three children, she enjoys playing netball, exploring historic sites and places of interest, as well as indulging in her favourite hobbies: art, dancing, and even bingo! And, did you know that Vicky won the Face of Berkshire in 2010?

Vicky's favourite food is her Nan's recipe for Beef Stew and Dumplings, which is perfect for the winter months.

Vicky is married, has a dog and a cat, and enjoys going on walks with her family. With her passion for people and care, it's no surprise that Vicky has been such an integral part of the Bluebird Care team since 2015.
