My concern is that I have had a carer which I find has not been able to satisfy my needs with my speech problem, it has been frustrating that I have not been heard even after several attempts. (9/1/18) I know that it can be difficult for some carers to understand but it can be harder still for anyone
with a hearing difficulty.

I am quite happy with the carers who come to me. They are always polite and on time although I realise that this would be difficult and another thing I would like a later slot to be put to bed 7pm is rather early!! However, all in all I am very happy with the carers.

My dad was cared for by care staff from Broomfield Care Home Care Services. He was a difficult man with high standards. The staff from Broomfield Care showed kindness and treated him with dignity. They were professional in their work. Any concerns about his physical wellbeing were passed on to senior
staff and to myself. Senior staff would contact me with their concerns and I was very impressed with this.
Nothing was too much trouble for them. I would certainly use their services again and would be happy to recommend them to friends/family.

The care my husband received was very professional, caring, kind and considerate nothing is too much trouble. The love and concern was beyond measure not only to my husband but also to me. I was always informed of everything and advised of what might help me with the care. Any time I asked a question
they found the time to talk to me. To me, they were my friends. I miss my husband more than anything in the world but I also miss the carers smiling faces.

Very helpful. Always on the end of the phone when needed and return calls as promised.
Some calls arranged in an emergency at very short notice which helped us immensely.
Mother always happy with her carers.

Care was always person-centred and put mum at the centre of any decisions made and she really looked forward to each visit. She thought very highly of all of her ‘girls’.

Broomfield care looked after my mum for over 2 years until she died in June 2017.

I found them very supportive and caring with looking after her. Which also helped me knowing she was safe and happy.

They also helped me with any meeting (and advice) with social care and organised help/care needed

from her GP and the district nurses. This all meant that mum could be where she wanted in her own home. Mum got used to the lovely staff at Broomfield coming in to help and whilst it wasn't the same carers every day, mum felt happy and safe with the team involved.

Dad was quite reluctant to accept any care as he had always been quite strongly independent. His Multiple System Atrophy meant that a point came when he had to accept help.
Broomfield Care came with a recommendation and over a two year period helped with his bathroom needs and continued until and beyond
the point he needed palliative care.
He warmed to all Broomfield's carers and so did we. Without exception, they arrived on time, were dedicated and cheerful. We could not have expected more from them.

All the staff were warm and compassionate with mum and enabled her to stay safely at home for longer than we hoped. They were kind and supportive with my sister and I too.

I found Broomfield Care to be very responsive to my mother's needs. She had confidence in their carers and was always pleased to see them. The care provided was good and friendly. I had cause to complain about the administration of medication being missed occasionally, this was dealt with professionally
and to my satisfaction.
My mother was in and out of hospital throughout the period covered by Broomfield carers. This must have caused havoc with their carers rotas at times, but they always responded to my requests without query.

Although the company were spoken to many times, my mother was left with no milk all day.
Medicine dispenser not working, staff told the office but not me - who could sort it out.
Medication was going to be incorrectly administered, but my mother corrected them.
Food bin was requested to be emptied
as necessary. Rarely done, often growing.
Bin in the toilet for incontinence pads not emptied.
Hearing aid often not put in.
Sandwich was given for lunch one day and then no supper was left.
Clear instructions on the notice board to help staff as much as possible. Anyone new only had to read requirements.
This is for an 81-year-old, frail, of poor mobility, poor health, weighing 6 1/2 stone, with dementia.

Very professional and reliable company. My parents were quite at ease with these "strangers" coming into their home and liked them immediately. Thorough daily logs were religiously recorded and the family could not have been more relaxed and trusting of the Broomfield carers!

Object to being met with "who are you" by people we employ. "Hello I am the carer, have we met before" is more polite.

They never complete the criteria of light housework, rather have a nice chat.

Vicky Hall

Job Title: Company Owner and Registered Manager

Vicky Hall, the owner of Broomfield Care, has over 20 years of experience at the sharp end of care. She has provided care and support in a variety of different roles, from working with vulnerable adults and children in care to working in care homes for the elderly and for people with learning disabilities.

Vicky established Broomfield Care at the beginning of 2008. Shortly before this her Grandmother had become older and needed additional support. However, when Vicky tried to organise home care for her, she couldn’t find a company that matched up to her high expectations of quality care, delivered by dedicated and committed staff.

Vicky then decided to set up her own business providing care for others at the level she believed everyone was entitled to. She named the company after the hamlet her Grandmother had lived in, Broomfield in Kent.

At Broomfield Care, Vicky is supported by a hand-picked team of dedicated, committed and highly-skilled professionals.
