The girls are friendly, helpful and I look forward to seeing them daily. I have been able to keep on top of my personal hygiene thanks to their services and feel less lonely knowing they will be in every morning. Thank you.

Mum has been using home care services for the past few years and is very happy with the care she gets. As mum cannot get out she is very happy for them to chat with her while they work.

The carers are very good as it is not easy at times. Just one thing I would say - if the carers are late, they should ring the office and let the client know.

My mother enjoys the visits and the chats - it helps her to get going in the mornings. Whilst I don't see the carers, we do message each other and I find the service responsive to changes in needs. My scores are based on feedback from my mother and on my occasional interactions.

Generally, the level of care and support is very good. More variety in the carer would be good. It has got to the stage where Mum is having the same person at least 4 days a week. When the carer is the only person you see for 10 hours, it is nice to have someone different to talk to. Also, familiarity
breeds complacency. They think that if Mum did something for herself yesterday she can do it today, which isn't the case.

My mother has been using Candlelight for a few years and they have been excellent. After her more recent fall, they have worked with my mother and the local authority to ensure that she is getting back to 'normal'. The care workers are mostly great and are really friendly and helpful with nothing being
too much trouble. They treat my mother with respect and put a lot of effort into making sure she is comfortable, both physically and mentally.

My step mother has been a client for just over 5 years. There are many advantages to using a respected agency like Candlelight not least because of their ability to provide reliable care. Most of the carers really try to make a relationship with the client to ensure her needs are met as adequately as
possible. This is not to say they never slip up but when they do they respond honestly and quickly to remedy matters. We always find them easy to contact and very approachable.

Mandy

Mandy

Job Title: Registered Manager (East Sussex)

Joined: 2003

Mandy's role is to keep the branch running as smoothly as possible, ensuring that all visits are covered and that the care staff, clients and clients' families remain happy.


Mandy was awarded her 15-year-long service award back in 2018.


Before coming into the care sector, Mandy used to have catering roles within pubs.


Away from her day job, Mandy enjoys relaxing hobbies such as sewing, knitting and doing jigsaws.


Mandy achieved her level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care in 2016


Natalie

Natalie

Job Title: Care Coordinator (East Sussex)

Joined: 2018

Natalie co-ordinates the care visits for the Uckfield branch, ensuring that all are covered and at the correct time whilst trying to keep travelling time for care staff to a minimum.


Before joining Candlelight Care Natalie was a coordinator for agencies, and she has also worked as an administrator.


In her spare time, Natalie likes to eat out and socialise with friends and family.


Penny

Penny

Job Title: Community Team Manager (CTM)

Joined: 2003

As a Community Team Manager, Penny's role is to ensure that clients and staff are happy. She liaises with family, social services and other professionals to ensure that we are providing the best care possible.


Before she joined Candlelight Care, Penny worked in child care.


In her spare time Penny looks after her primary school age son and they love to meet friends for days out to London or to go on National Trust walks.


Penny also enjoys reading and spending time with her family and friends.


Sarah

Sarah Brockhurst

Job Title: Community Team Manager Assistant (CTMA)

Sarah Brockhurst has worked in the care sector for many years, progressing her career to Community Team Manager Assistant. In this role, Sarah carries out client assessments and client reviews.


Sarah is very devoted to her family and they like to spend time camping in the New Forest. She likes to crochet as a hobby, and her celebrity crush is James Martin.


Roxanne

As our Recruitment Officer, Roxanne (Roxy) helps us to find new care and support staff to look after our clients in their own homes. In addition to posting new jobs on job sites, social media, and other outlets, she attends recruitment fairs and is constantly looking for ways to improve our recruitment process. She supports our potential new employees from the moment they apply for a job until they are invited for an interview, answering their questions, chasing up CVs and applications, and sometimes meeting for an informal chat in person or on the phone.


Prior to joining Candlelight Care Roxy provided private care on a 1:1 basis for an individual with Downs Syndrome and Dementia in Cornwall, and she has also worked as a ‘Field Supervisor’ (CTM) for a care company in Torbay, supporting a team of care workers with supervisions, spot-checks and medication sign-offs. So she understands the rewards and challenges of care work!

Away from the office, Roxy is a member of the Mere Amateur Dramatics society, which put on two productions a year in the Spring and Autumn. She has always loved performing and studied Acting at University, where she was able to tour regionally and Internationally in their productions.
