We find the carers are caring and do a very good job in the time allowed. Always try to be pleasant even if they have had a hard day. It seems an impossible task to find a parking spot and see to the client in the time allowed but they always seem to arrive with a smile on their faces which is a positive
start.

Tracy

Tracy Weare

Job Title: Registered Manager (Glastonbury)

Joined: 1998

Tracy joined Candlelight Care after a career in retail. Tracy oversees the running of the Glastonbury branch including recruitment, staff management, liaising with health professionals and commissioners, and resolving any issues which arise.


Away from her role, Tracy is passionate about animal welfare and helping Ocean Plastic by collecting plastic from beaches and other organisations.


Tracy achieved her level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care in 2016, and City & Guilds 4 in Leadership & Management 2007.


Sarah

Sarah Perry

Job Title: D2A Registered Manager

Joined: 2003

Sarah joined Candlelight in 2003 as a live-in carer, she then became a Care and Support worker, moving later into the Care Coordinator role.


In 2021 she became the Discharge to Assess Manager at Candlelight and was awarded her CQC Registered Manager title in 2023.


In her own time, Sarah enjoys films, cooking and travelling.

Joined: 2002

Helen supervises and provides support to care professionals and clients in the Street and Glastonbury area. She resolves any concerns and ensures that clients have regular care professionals as much as possible, to promote continuity for them.


Helen has been a care professional since 1994 and has worked in Norfolk, Scotland, Berkshire and Somerset she was in the RAF and moved around the country quite frequently.


In her spare time, Helen enjoys renovating her home and upcycling furniture.

Loraine supervises and provides support to care professionals and clients in Wells, Shepton Mallet and the surrounding areas. She resolves any concerns and ensures that clients have regular care professionals as much as possible, to promote continuity for them.


Loraine has worked in care since 1996 and started her career working in a Nursing Home in Hampshire.


Away from Candlelight Care, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, knitting, and crafts.


Mandy

Mandy Mapstone

Job Title: Care Coordinator

Joined: 2011

Mandy joined Candlelight in 2011 as a care and support worker, becoming a care assessor 2 years later and working in that role for another 8 years. She then applied for and became a care coordinator.

Before Mandy joined Candlelight she worked in care, including a special needs school, and brought up her own four children.

In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and grandchildren and going on walks.


Elaine

Elaine Frost

Job Title: Care Coordinator

Joined: 2013

Elaine Frost Joined Candlelight as a Care Support in 2013, In 2021 she joined the Care Assessor team and then progressed in April 2024 to a Care Co-Ordinator.


Elaine has previously worked as a chef, reflexologist, and beauty therapist amongst other things.


Elaine loves travelling to exotic countries, snorkelling and spending time with her four grandchildren.


Roxanne

Roxanne

Job Title: Recruitment Officer

Joined: 2020

As our Recruitment Officer, Roxanne (Roxy) helps us to find new care and support staff to look after our clients in their own homes. In addition to posting new jobs on job sites, social media, and other outlets, she attends recruitment fairs and is constantly looking for ways to improve our recruitment process. She supports our potential new employees from the moment they apply for a job until they are invited for an interview, answering their questions, chasing up CVs and applications, and sometimes meeting for an informal chat in person or on the phone.


Prior to joining Candlelight Care Roxy provided private care on a 1:1 basis for an individual with Downs Syndrome and Dementia in Cornwall, and she has also worked as a ‘Field Supervisor’ (CTM) for a care company in Torbay, supporting a team of care workers with supervisions, spot-checks and medication sign-offs. So she understands the rewards and challenges of care work!

Away from the office, Roxy is a member of the Mere Amateur Dramatics society, which put on two productions a year in the Spring and Autumn. She has always loved performing and studied Acting at University, where she was able to tour regionally and Internationally in their productions.
