Christies Care provides outstanding, personalised homecare in East Suffolk and live-in care right across England. Rated 'Outstanding' by CQC twice in a row (July 2019, December 2016), it has been owned and run by the same local family since 1991.

Christies Care has grown solely through word of mouth recommendations. Its clients are delighted by the fact that carers proactively help people to live as independently as possible, at home. Its clients therefore actively recommend the company to others.

Also, Christies Care's carers actively recommend their friends as carers; about 60% of all of its carers come through word of mouth recommendation from existing carers.

Christies Care invests in award-winning carer training and recruitment. This rigorous process means that the company selects only the best carer candidates. Because Christies Care has such well-trained and selected carers, they get on well with their clients and do an outstanding job.

I strongly recommend Christies as they provided excellent live in care for both of parents in their final years. They treated them with compassion and dignity and I don't feel the care provided could have been any better.

The management team are efficient, friendly and understanding. Carers are well trained and, on the whole, have my mum’s best interests at the heart of all they do.

Mum’s carer for 4 years, was excellent - kind, reliable, could not have been better for Mum. Knew her at the start of dementia before things deteriorated- very important point. Mum then still knew her even as memory declined. People developing dementia need continuity of care. Our problems, which were
few overall, came with the relief carers who were variable in communication skills and conscientiousness. Mum was able to have her main carer until she died at home, which was as good as it could have been. We are very grateful to our carer for this and all her dedication.
Re management, more needs to be done to encourage people that Scotland is not “off the end of the World” and to match breaks to known carers’ availability. We got the hang of this at the end, where messaging the good relief carers matched their availability to our carer’s break needs! Good luck - need to publicise more to local authorities the home care possibilities. Most people still don’t realise it is an option.

The carers provided by Christies were thoughtful, kind, fun, interested in their job and in Mum. They went out of their way to make Mum feel comfortable and well cared for while respecting her privacy. They were excellent at meeting her particular needs, especially realising how important it was to
take her out every day.
We only had a couple of carers over the whole period whom I would not recommend.
The initial phase when carers changed frequently was difficult for my Mum to adjust to, but after a while, the same carers returned bringing their experience and knowledge of Mum to make it all work.
The most frequent carers, all had a great sense of humour and adapted so much to make all the little things work.
It was a pleasure to work with them and we as a family are so grateful for all that the Christies agency and carers did for our Mum.
Because of them, she was able to stay in her own home until the end, which made us all very happy.

All the staff involved with mum were very caring and well trained. They were able to contact the office for advice when needed and dealt efficiently with the doctor's surgery, nurses etc. Came up with good suggestions eg dry hair wash which I was unaware of. They were also very supportive towards the
family as mum's life came to an end.

The slight downside of the service was the initial constant change of personnel but I appreciate that it was difficult to staff at first and this did improve.

The care that my father received was excellent especially in the last few days of his life when the carers showed great compassion and kindness not only to him but also to my sister and me.

From the moment I called Christies I knew my mum would be in good hands.
When we were given the unexpected news that mum had cancer and only weeks to live all we wanted was to fulfil her wishes. Her main wish was to be at home and with Christies and the wonderful carer we were provided we able to do
that.

The carer we were provided was so lovely, by the time mum passed 7 weeks later she was part of the family and our contact at the office has gone above and beyond her duties and made a very difficult time much easier.

I would recommend Christies to anyone looking for a live-in carer. The service we received was 5 star!

My mother who passed away recently had been cared for by Christies Care for over four years. We could not fault the service provided by Christies. They are very professional in their service, the carers were always well trained and suitable for the job. Christies constantly monitored the carers and
frequently visited my mother’s home to assess how the care was going and to check on the carers and to see if we had any causes for concern. They also regularly carried out risk assessments on my mother’s home to check that is was safe both for my mother and her carers. I cannot praise them enough for the service they provided. I would highly recommend Christies to anyone thinking of employing a live-in carer.

We started to have live-in carers from Christies when my mother showed signs of Alzheimer's about 13 years ago. The social worker advised me that people with my mother's condition are hardly ever able to stay at home in the end stages. But because of her wonderful carers, my Mum was able to live in
the home she loved, with my Dad, and she died in her own bed the day after their 60th Wedding Anniversary.
My Father felt that he would be able to look after himself, but I persuaded him to continue having the support of live-in carers from Christies - just for the next three months. That turned into over ten years. Ten years during which my Dad could continue to enjoy the comfort of his own home, surrounded by his books. And ten years during which we could enjoy visiting him, without having to worry about his health and wellbeing.
Christies have had the marvellous knack of choosing, almost without exception, just the right person for both my Mum and my Dad. I highly recommend them!

This is my first foray into the world of home care. From the very first moment I called Christies, I received exemplary care. The head office communications were outstanding as was the area manager who did the assessment, each of the carers assigned to look after my mum as well as the processes in place.
I would be happy to offer any prospective clients a personal reference based on our experiences. The carers really went the extra mile and helped our family through an incredibly difficult time. I also learnt a lot from them too.

Christies have very well trained carers, they are responsive to client needs and very friendly and efficient. Christies support their carers well which is very important as many carers are in situations where there is no family support.
Live- in care is a very specialised area of care requiring carers
(and care agencies) to have flexibility, empathy, resilience, problem-solving abilities, exceptional people skills and humour. The Christies carers exhibited these qualities most of the time. They were certainly streets ahead of a major competitor.

You provided an excellent service at short notice and a carer that my rather reluctant and sceptical mother-in-law thought was wonderful.

As a family, we found that the carers slotted into the running of the house extremely well. They were all trained very well and knew exactly what to do if any emergencies or urgent needs were required. They were very sensitive to mum's needs and, whilst trying to keep mum as independent as possible,
they knew when and where to help her. Christies were excellent when dealing with any problems or queries. My sisters and I felt that mum was in very safe and capable hands. It meant that we were able to keep mum in her own home until the end, which was very important to her.
