Our carer was wonderful to my mother and father. They described her as 'perfect in every way'. She took time to get to know them both as people and what was important in the care regime to them and how they liked to live. She quickly worked out the deal breakers, the ways to a quick win with both parents
and, as a family, we could not fault her. Big thanks to her and the Christies team.

Having previously used Christies Care to care for our neighbour, we had no hesitation in recruiting them again when my mother-in-law became in need of live-in care at the age of 98. Christies were incredibly efficient and helpful, managing to place a suitable carer at very short notice. My mother-in-law
was extremely resistant to accepting care, but quickly appreciated the help, reassurance, companionship and care - both physical and emotional. Her carers were excellent, knowing when to step in, when to retreat, anticipating her needs and generally taking care of her, and she quickly became fond of most. Christies match clients with carers thoughtfully and monitor their clients' needs and any changes. They have high standards and expectations of their carers and will handle any issues professionally, sensitively and effectively. I was pleased that Christies lived up to our hopes from our previous use of them and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

I was concerned that my mother might struggle with a life in care but so relieved that mum has accepted the support and I can feel at ease that mum is being well looked after in my absence. The carers are professional and have shown my mother all their caring qualities. Excellent service, thank you.

We have so far had two live-in carers for my mother provided by Christies Care. Both have been excellent. I live one hundred and fifty miles away from my mother and visit every three weeks or so. I have noticed a marked improvement in my mother's health. The carers are so kind and professional and they
stimulate my mother and I can see how well-cared for she is. It gives me real peace of mind to know that she is safe (she was having frequent falls, which prompted the decision to have a live-in carer).

We use Christies regularly for respite cover for my mother's regular live-in carer. The back office are always efficient, responsive and helpful to deal with when setting up the placement. On this occasion we had a carer we've used several times before - she is excellent. For the final week we had
someone new to us - also very experienced, and she looked after my mother brilliantly. All in all a very good service.

My husband was very apprehensive about using an agency 24-hour carer. The carer is now considered a friend. He is a delightful man and goes above and beyond with his care. He is polite caring and very jolly. Nothing was too much trouble. We would certainly love to see him again the next time I feel
the need for a break. Thank you.

Our carer was provided at short notice for which we were very grateful.
She was very conscientious, caring and did her utmost to please my mother - cooking her tasty meals and massaging her painful legs and feet.
We could not fault her or the efficiency of Christies Care.
From our experience, we
would not hesitate to recommend this company and our carer.

This is our second experience of using Christies Care and yet again we cannot fault the care provided. The carer fitted in with Mum straight away. They got on so well and we would not hesitate to use again.

My stepmother broke her arm and initially, after the operation, stayed in a nursing home for respite care as I was going to be abroad when she came out of hospital. As soon as I was back in the country I wanted to help her be back in her home, as she wished. I called Christies Care and they immediately
swung into action and within two days of my call, we met at my stepmother's home so Christies Care could assess her needs and assess the living arrangements for a live-in carer. Three days later after our initial assessment meeting, I was able to take my stepmother home and the live-in carer arrived for a three-week booking of respite care. Everything went smoothly. I was less stressed knowing my stepmother was being cared for and helped. The carer was very aware that my stepmother needed her own space to just read and watch TV and was very good at judging when she was needed and when to sit in her room on call. I can recommend Christies Care.

A few days after Christmas, my 92-year-old mother had to go into a care home suddenly after a fall. The home was very well-appointed but when after two months she remained unhappy and missed her own house, I decided to try moving her back there and try a live-in carer. I found Christies Care through
a neighbour and we started using them in March 2023. Since then, our experience of Christies has been uniformly positive. The initial paperwork and interviews, while searching, were sensibly paced and efficiently handled. The billing has been smooth itself, with clear invoices and statements - in marked contrast to the care home where I had to juggle four different accounts! The standard of the three Christies carers my mother has had, so far, has been excellent. They've been extremely kind and tolerant, yet efficient and flexible. We are building up an excellent team of carers who can be with her in rotation for the long term. So all in all, I am delighted with Christies.

Mum has most recently (April and May 2023) had eight weeks of care from two Christies Care carers. We had three months of care last year and had generally positive experiences.
The last two carers have been the most superb, very professional in their attitude to the job but kind and sensitive as well
as fun and part of the family. Mum's house has been spotless and so tidy, both ladies have been very good cooks and fed Mum excellent home-cooked food alongside being very organised with shopping. Mum can be very rude and unnecessarily sharp (partly because of not wanting to need carers) and they have handled her with patience, I can only admire them as I go home and leave them dealing with her ungratefulness. The office is very efficient to communicate with and, apart from the gulping cost of live-in care, I have no hesitation in highly recommending Christies.

Thank you very much, I am so glad that it has worked well. I quite understand that your mother doesn't want carers, that is extremely common, after all, we all want to be well enough to never need a carer.
I will pass your positive comments on to the right people.

My family was very impressed by the kindness, competence and diligence of the carer who looked after our father for a month. She went beyond the call of duty, in particular, in coping with his restlessness during the night and his lack of short-term memory. She cooked food that he enjoyed and looked
after his clothes and personal care needs. She even gave us some helpful advice as to how to support him. She fostered a good and appropriate relationship with the handyman gardener who lives next door and whose wife, his usual housekeeper and carer, was away. My father, who has dementia, was disconcerted when she first arrived but was very sad when she left.
Christies Care responded quickly and efficiently to my initial enquiry and was a big step up from another company I had used formerly. I will not hesitate to contact them again in the future and the family and my father would be extremely happy if the same carer was able to return.

Thank you so very much for the kind review and such kind words. I am very glad that the carer was such a success. I've just written to the carer to thank her - you are right, she really is a star.

Excellent carer, very kind and helpful, nothing was too much trouble and a pleasure to have her look after Mum. Ensured I was kept updated on any issues. Kept the house very clean and tidy. Hopefully, she will help us again in future.

In early January my father came home from hospital with a diagnosis of stage 4 lung cancer, extensive secondaries and a relatively short-term prognosis. It became clear that the family could not cope even with the amazing help we were already receiving via the hospice and NHS. One of the local care
agencies recommended Christies Care live-in carer as an option for us. From the first call, Christies has been extremely thorough, going through all our requirements in order to make sure that the carer they provided will be suitable for our needs. Everything was handled extremely sensitively and professionally and the carer started within a few days. I have to say that she has been brilliant in every sense, hit the ground running and was incredibly flexible in her approach throughout dealing with my father whilst supporting my mother. I would have no hesitation in recommending Christies to anyone who unfortunately found themselves in a similar situation to us.

I am so glad to see that our carer showed the right level of flexibility and that the team handled things so sensitively. Thank you very much indeed for your kind words.

I phoned and spoke to a very nice member of staff who understood our needs. A quote was emailed within an hour as agreed. The Area Manager contacted me that afternoon and visited my mum to assess her needs within forty-eight hours. The care package and carer were in place within a week from my first
phone call.
I found what could have been a difficult process was made easier by the efficient and pleasant staff.

From start to finish, our dealings with Christies have been top-class - professional, courteous and efficient. The process of arranging respite care to allow me to take a week's holiday was straightforward. Our Christies carer picked up the routine extremely quickly and worked effectively with our existing
daily carers - it gave me great peace of mind that my mother was in safe hands whilst I was away. We would have no hesitation in using Christies again, nor in recommending them to others.

Reply from Freddy Gathorne-Hardy, Managing Director at Christies Care Ltd

For a number of reasons, we wanted to change the company that provides live-in care for my father, who has Alzheimer's.
The changeover has been very smooth, and there has been someone to help me through each step. Just before Christies started, it became apparent that my mother would also need caring
for. A quick call to Christies, and I was reassured that they could support my mother as well, no problem. Everyone is very helpful and understanding. Their telephone manner is very reassuring and helps you feel confident that the care will be too. The first carer started well, and my mother felt comfortable with her almost immediately. They provide an app, allowing you to read how care is being delivered to your loved ones.
We also needed carers who could drive due to the isolated location of my parent's house. Christies were able to do this.
It's early days, but the handover seems to have gone well, and my mother seems much happier with the care she is receiving.

Reply from Freddy Gathorne-Hardy, Managing Director at Christies Care Ltd

Thank you so much for this review, and I am extremely happy to see that the change went well. The most important thing is that your parents are happy, and it seems that they are.
