Christies Care provides outstanding, personalised homecare in East Suffolk and live-in care right across England. Rated 'Outstanding' by CQC twice in a row (July 2019, December 2016), it has been owned and run by the same local family since 1991.

Christies Care has grown solely through word of mouth recommendations. Its clients are delighted by the fact that carers proactively help people to live as independently as possible, at home. Its clients therefore actively recommend the company to others.

Also, Christies Care's carers actively recommend their friends as carers; about 60% of all of its carers come through word of mouth recommendation from existing carers.

Christies Care invests in award-winning carer training and recruitment. This rigorous process means that the company selects only the best carer candidates. Because Christies Care has such well-trained and selected carers, they get on well with their clients and do an outstanding job.

All the carers have been extremely nice although at times they have been unexperienced which has led to some slight problems. However, these have been quickly solved so all in all good service and my mum is now very happy and secure.

Thank you for your review. We were concerned about your comment on the carer's experience: we do have an exceptionally rigorous training programme, which we believe prepares all our carers for any situation. However, we are really pleased that you and your mother are happy with us.

The carer was so helpful. Settled in very well and understood the needs of my mother. She took my mother for walks every day, which she loved.
She prepared lovely fresh meals for my mother. My mother enjoyed talking to her about current affairs.

My mum, in her 80s, suffered a brain bleed in late July. Quickly, she was assessed as able to return home, but with carers to be provided via the NHS. After two weeks, carers were still not forthcoming. Knowing that I would be away shortly, I began contacting local private homes and care organisations
- about 15 in total - with often no reply, and certainly no success. One of the organisations I contacted couldn't help but recommended Christies Care. I'm so glad they did. The office staff were friendly and organised; the assessment was arranged very quickly and carried out with great understanding and sensitivity, and the care was put in place very quickly. My Mum had two different live-in carers over 14 days, both of whom were delightful - easy to get on with, supportive, caring and kind. I was highly impressed with all aspects of the service and thoroughly recommend Christies based on this experience.

As the family of a mum whose Parkinsons with Dementia had progressed to the point of her being unable to live safely on her own, we were all really nervous about having a live-in carer, as we didn't really know what to expect, or whether Mum would even accept that help. Our family have been really pleased
with how Christies really listened to our concerns, and found carers who have helped Mum to continue to live in her beloved home, not just by providing the day to day practical care that she needs, but giving reassurance when she's down, making sure she's keeping up her exercise to maintain her muscle tone, and giving companionship which has been invaluable. It's early days, as it's only been five weeks, but so far we're really pleased with all aspects of communication and care from Christies, and would recommend them if you're looking for live-in care for your loved ones.

We were really pleased to read your comments about our care of your mum. There is so much to consider, and there will always be concerns ahead of making such a big decision. We have dedicated Parkinsons and Dementia Trainers making sure each Carer spends a good part of their CPD accredited induction training with us learning about the best care and support for people like your mum. Thank you for taking the time to tell us.

As this was the first time I had planned a respite break for myself I was anxious about how my husband, and the carer, would manage. However, our carer's calm and helpful manner blended in with our routine and I was able to go away with fewer concerns. On my return, I could see that my husband had been
very well looked after and was quite relaxed about the whole event. I would certainly consider having another break again, using Christies and hopefully the same carer.

Both the office staff and carers have been very good and helpful. The office has kept me informed of the new carers in good time. Our first carer was a man which I found difficult as his bedroom was next to the bathroom, also my husband prefers a woman carer. Since then we have had lovely ladies who
were caring efficient and very friendly. We have been delighted with them and they will be calling again.

I have been in hospital three times during the past year. Each time we had carers from Christies to look after my husband (95), and without exception, they cared for him and the work of the house so well that I had no anxiety whatsoever. Thank you all!

I was very impressed with Christies Care from the first telephone request through the assessment and then the respite care.
They were a professional and competent company to deal with and the carer giving the respite care was excellent. She was capable, friendly and efficient.

Christies Care provided a live-in carer for Mum incredibly swiftly and efficiently, even though it was a bank holiday. The assessor was marvellous and submitted his report swiftly so that care could commence speedily. The administration and support by Christies Care has been extremely efficient, kind
and caring. Both carers who have stayed with Mum have been absolutely exceptional. They are extremely gentle in their approach, attitude and speech, very respectful, friendly and approachable, whilst also being very professional and attentive to all Mum's needs. I genuinely cannot praise them highly enough, and the relief it provides, knowing such excellent care in place for Mum, is immense. Thank you.

Mum was hospitalised two days before our carer arrived, however, she was an absolute marvel. Her visits to the hospital took the pressure off me and helped mum hugely. She amused mum with her stories, stimulated her, prompted her liquid intake and fed her tasty croissants.
Once mum was in rehab,
they also went out for walks together. We would both have her back in an instant.

My dad has Parkinson's and has been cared for by my mum for over 15 years. It was becoming increasingly apparent that with the onset of early dementia, she needed assistance to care for him to enable them to stay together in their own home. However, they were both uneasy about someone living in their
home. They needn't have worried. The carer took only a few hours to assess the care needs of my dad taking into account that he is still relatively able if given the time and patience and guidance to be so, but also she assessed my mum's condition and gave her the respect she needed so she didn't feel sidelined. With care for my dad being so wonderfully given, my mum was able to relax and enjoy time out with friends and family and also enjoy quality time with her husband. Thank you.

My mother was cared for by Christies from October 2014 to her death aged 98 in December 2018. Carers always arrived on time and made careful notes of the procedures necessary. They bought provisions and managed the household. They helped in asking for special equipment - for example, the hoist that
was needed to lift her in and out of bed during her last three months of life. Her regular carer worked four weeks out of six and established an especially good relationship with my mother. Thanks to Christies Care, my mother was able to die peacefully at home in the presence of some of her family. She told me how lucky she was.

My son has used Christies Care Ltd for many years now and they have worked with me to ensure that the care he receives is suitable for him as he grows and develops. Christies Care Ltd always ask for feedback when my son has a carer new to them; there are now a couple of carers that have worked with
my son closely that I would gladly regard them as part of my own family.

We have been extremely happy with the quality of the carers provided by Christies. Despite dealing with some difficult situations the carers have been professional in their dealings with our mother and with other agencies including carers and nurses. They have also shown very caring skills responding
to the emotional and physical needs of our mother with much kindness and sympathy.
The carer has also felt supported by the person in the office who we can also feed back to. Working together as a team has enabled our mother to remain in her own home with her own preferences fulfilled whenever possible.
