Aster Care Ltd provides a viable alternative to nursing home care for those with a long-term condition requiring one-to-one care for longer periods of time including day or overnight support, up to 24 hours per day.

Staff can support individuals with more complex types of dementia such as frontotemporal dementia (FTD), Lewy Body dementia (LBD/DLB), as well as Alzheimer's. Staff specifically support those who require constant supervision or are protected under a Community Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) Order.

In addition, staff are trained in delegated clinical skills and can undertake nursing tasks alongside personal care such as managing complex medication regimes, PEG feeds, tracheostomy care and suctioning. All care is person-centred and tailored to individual needs following a free Needs Assessment consultation.

Mother has been attended by sitters since July 2024. The attention received has been completely satisfactory from the three ladies who have attended. As the daughter of the client, I can not express enough thanks for the assistance received from management and other members of staff. The company is

We have only been with Aster Care for about 6 weeks. We have found them very good so far, my mum likes all of the sitters that come to look after her. They talk to her and keep her amused which is good for her mental health.

My husband was a service user with Aster for nine years, his condition was complex but was looked after so well and treated him with utmost respect right up until his death in 2022. I found myself needing care, there was only one company for me. I was so lucky to get my wish, all my carries look after
and treat me so well. They also go above and beyond the call of duty, the management are so kind and friendly and also keep me updated on any changes. 10 out of 10 from me.

Aster are a lovely company to work with. I have been using them for the last 6 months to provide me with waking night support as I use a ventilator overnight and need assistance with all aspects of getting up and ready for the day.
All of the staff that I've met from Aster have been very friendly
and really care about what they do which makes a huge difference. They're always very approachable and communication is great.
I'm very happy with the support I'm receiving from Aster and would definitely recommend the company to others.

Aster Care supported my wife for just over a year. My wife had dementia, epilepsy and leukaemia. Aster Care provided car and support twice a week with waking nights. This enabled me to catch up on some much-needed rest and sleep. I can't thank Aster Care and their staff enough, they helped me to keep
my wife at home so that I could still care for her. All the carers were kind and caring, nothing was too much trouble. Although the carers were here to care for my wife they supported me too. The office team are professional and supportive, they make sure the carers were matched to my wife's needs, they always managed to arrange extra care if I needed it. I would highly recommend Aster Care to anyone looking for care and support for their loved ones. Thank you.

I have been with Aster Care, for 8 years now, I went from no care to 24hr care after spending 6 months in hospital, I did not know what to expect, this was all very new to me and of course my wife, it has always been just us 2. I first met Aster Care in hospital to view my care plan and to meet me and
my wife, telling us what they do, as I was complex care, all went very well, then I was introduced to some of the carers who were going to look after me 24/7, then they all had to be trained for my needs, which went really well, my first reaction was now you have practiced who is going to be the first one to do it on me, as it’s completely different from training on a model, which they all did, I am glad I have done this because I had to be confident in them because my life was in their hands. First night home after 6 months in hospital very nervous, but it could not have gone any better, one of my wishes was for all my carers to be like one big family, which is how it’s turned out.

A friend recommended Aster Care to me when I was becoming anxious about care for me after I was discharged from hospital following a serious operation. I was impressed from the very start when senior managers visited me at home to assess my needs. They were very thorough and understanding and showed
great flexibility in fitting their programme to my constantly changing timetable (my operation was postponed twice and I was in hospital longer than expected). I required overnight waking care in case I had any emergency at home when I was usually on my own. I spoke to them at some length each day and was happy to entrust myself to them. In the event, I did not have to use their service except for a cup of tea before they left at 07.30 but the reassurance they provided was sufficient. This is why I rate them highly for value for money.

After spending 6 months in the hospital, it was decided by the NHS that my husband should be placed in a nursing home, which I disagreed with. After a couple of meetings at the hospital, I was introduced to Aster Care, with a view of them taking over my husband's care at home. I was supported very well
by Aster Care's management a team and achieved my goal of my husband coming home. There have been good and bad days since he has been home, but the staff cope with his complex demands very professionally. I was unaware that there were care providers that provide 24/7 care but I am so glad that I was eventually told about Aster Care and have never looked back with the care and support we both receive from the team we have working with us.

Pam Butler

Job Title: Operations Director & Registered Manager

Pam has multi-hat responsibilities to run the business and oversee the operational systems and processes. This also includes compliance, quality assurance, complaints and safeguarding, as well as marketing, business development, recruitment & training. In addition, Pam is directly involved with staff and service users, using her nursing background to undertake all complex needs assessments, translating them into simple, clear care plans for staff to deliver personalised and effective care.


Pam is a retired RGN, holds NVQ 5 in Operational Management, a Diploma in Health & Social Care, a Further and Adult Teachers Certificate, Level 3 Human Resource Support, L2 Assessors Award.

Carey Stevens

Job Title: Deputy Manager

Joined: 2013

Carey has worked for Aster Care since 2013 and is a prime example of how staff can join Aster Care and progress in their career. She began as a Healthcare Support Worker and then became Care Coordinator in 2018. Proving herself to be reliable, hardworking and likeable, Carey was promoted to Deputy Care Manager in March 2023.


She will oversee the day-to-day running of the service, assist with the training of staff, and support the Registered Manager with the governance needs of the organisation. Carey holds an NVQ 2 in Health & Social Care, is a qualified Moving & Handling Trainer, and holds a Train the Train certificate to support staff in managing PEG feeding & medication administration and observational visits.

Jade joined Aster Care in 2021 and was quickly promoted to Senior Care Worker due to her calm professionalism – not just in her daily work, but in managing the out-of-hours service where she ensured the service continued to run smoothly. Jade has worked in the care sector for 14 years, both in domiciliary care and supported living, also working with people who have learning difficulties with complex care needs. Jade will be responsible for the allocation of the care visits (staff rotas) in advance, and assist in the day-to-day covering of sickness/absence.
