As a Registered Manager, I oversee the management of our team. My name is Colette and I work closely with the NHS and Cumbria County Council to ensure that people who leave the hospital receive private nursing care in the comfort of their own homes.
Personally, I have experienced the challenges of caring for a loved one with MS and dementia. It's a difficult and emotional journey, but it has given me valuable insights that help me support our clients with compassion and understanding. I truly understand the importance of good quality home care services, as I have seen the positive impact they can have firsthand.
One of my passions is making sure our clients preferences and wishes are taken into account when they first join our service and during subsequent reviews of their care. I maintain contact with clients and am always available for a chat to discuss any aspect of their care. It brings me great satisfaction to help our clients live comfortably and with dignity in the comfort of their own home.

Prior to joining Eden Country Care, I worked as a teaching assistant for children with special educational needs, which sparked my passion for supporting others. This led me to apply for a role as a Home Carer, even though it was a significant departure from my previous work.
Initially, I was nervous about providing personal care, but with the guidance of experienced carers, my anxieties were soon alleviated. I have now accumulated eight years of experience working with a diverse range of clients, from young adults with Multiple Sclerosis to older adults with frailty.
Throughout my tenure, I completed Health & Social Care Diplomas at Levels 2-5 and consistently put myself forward for promotion when opportunities arose. In 2019, I was appointed Training Manager, and I have relished the opportunity to work with new team members and help them feel at home in their roles.
