Home Instead came out within a few days to assess Dad and our needs. Within a few days, a care plan was put forward, along with carer details etc, a printable sheet to attach to dad's worktop of the carer visit schedule and photograph to help Dad with his Alzheimer's. After Dad's initial reluctance
at the start of his carer visits, Home Instead worked with us to help ease the transition gently and effectively, his carer has become part of the family. Dad now looks forward to seeing him every day twice a day and we can't speak too highly of him. He has been a godsend to us in looking after dad (while we are at work and looking after a young family), in administering his medication, housework and prompting dad where required in personal care. In addition and more importantly for us as a family, his carer is also taking dad out walking in the fresh air to aid his balance, making him his meals and getting in food where necessary, and generally being an excellent companion. A wonderful find!

Mum receives exceptional care, caregivers are extremely caring, kind, patient, constantly look at ways to care for mum, e.g. Mum is now resisting food, caregivers are now giving mum her main meal at lunchtime rather than at 5 pm. Mum will be more responsive and able to eat her meals. Caregivers report
any concerns, family members notified and ambulances, doctors or other medical professionals are called as appropriate. Caregivers manage household tasks willingly and are pro-active regarding shopping (sending shopping lists to family) and putting it away. Caregivers collect medicines from the local pharmacy. In conclusion, I have total confidence with the care that is given and cannot praise enough all the staff for their care and commitment to Mum. Home Instead also provide support to my sister, brother in law and myself, give advice, assistance to us and sometimes just listen to us talk, which is a great help to us and instrumental in helping us cope with a very difficult situation.

The approach of Home Instead carers and staff is one of both professionalism and dedication. They have taken great care of my mum ever since she has needed day to day support in her home. They react quickly to all requests she makes, but as importantly they have been proactive in contacting me in situations
where they feel she has an urgent requirement or where they feel that something may be amiss. If there is an immediate issue they often deal with the problem and then let me know afterwards that everything is ok. On many occasions they have gone over and above the normal duty of care in providing support and companionship. They are kind and courteous. I feel confident that if I ask them to monitor or react to something they will do there best to assist. I would certainly recommend their services to anyone with an elderly relative that wishes to stay in their own home.

First time dad had any form of care, so I was unsure how it would go. He was pleased with all the Home Instead staff and welcomed their help. Carers were very thoughtful in the way they supported dad. I welcome the way Home Instead will adapt to the individual requirements of the client, a flexible,
friendly approach.

Without exception, every member of staff has shown great care and respect for my Father and also showed the same care to my Mother during her final months.


My Father very much enjoys both the support and the company the Ladies provide, I would happily recommend this agency to anyone considering care

Since starting using Home Instead Walton On Thames in 2015 we have been extremely pleased with the level of service provided. Staff are very caring, usually prompt and having a full hours visit means they are not rushed and able to chat as well as do the necessary jobs. Any queries or issues are dealt
with quickly and efficiently and we have only had two instances where carers have not turned up as booked. On both occasions this was due to computer programmes not allocating the visits not through any fault of the care visitor. Home Instead give us peace of mind and if my 90 year old father is found to be unwell or needs a doctor/ extra care I am immediately alerted. I have no hesitation in recommending to others and indeed already have.

Hello, I’m John, it’s my role to manage the day-to-day activities of the franchise with the collaboration and guidance of the business owner – Damien Nolan. I joined the company in 2020 from a different sector a short time before the start of the pandemic, so it’s been a steep learning curve. I’m fortunate to have become a member of a wonderful team of people who all go the extra mile every day. Home Instead is a fast-paced environment, the days fly by and never pass without me learning something new.
