The care given to my mother over the last two or three years has been wonderful.
Every care giver has supported her as if she were a member of their own family.
We have been given ongoing support from the office team too, discussing needs and worries as they occur.
Every effort has been made to adapt
to my mother's needs, even adding additional support from the early days of the Covid-19 period.
We could not wish for more.
Thank you, Home Instead.

I just wanted to write and thank Home Instead for all your ongoing hard work and dedication looking after my father and enabling him to remain in his own flat, healthy and active at almost 96 years of age.
The two carers who look after him most of the time are exemplary in their attitude, work ethic,
empathy and in enabling my father to continue to run his own home the way he likes it, while also being willing to give advice and guidance and/or refer queries to myself or my sisters should the need arise. They carry out their duties with care and good humour, both of them work hard and often go the 'extra mile' - such as under the current difficult CV-19 situation; I also find the HI office easy to contact and helpful.

Home Instead Senior Care carers have been visiting my mother for over three years now to offer companionship in various ways. This has mainly been in the form of light duties preparing food, clearing up, chatting and providing support. They have always gone out of their way to try to accommodate any
requested changes to the agreed schedule, and recently they’ve been good enough to visit her at a care home to where she has moved, to give extra support. Their general pleasantness and reliability has been important and appreciated and they’ve by and large always been on time, and have rarely let her down with a much later visit.
Ironically, having met a lot more people from other walks of life has had the effect of broadening my mother’s outlook and attitudes even in her 90s, and she has enjoyed meeting so many more people than before, which I feel has been a big plus on top of knowing that Home Instead Senior Care were keeping a fairly close eye on her.

Usual carers are very good, helpful, cheerful and reliable. They report back quickly if anything is wrong. My mum is very fond of the carers and they have taken the time to get to know her and her likes/dislikes.
Stand-in carers are slightly less good, as they have little advance knowledge of the client's
needs.

Accepting that one has reached a certain stage in life where help and care to stay in one's home has become a necessity, is not an easy decision to make! A deal of thought and 'research' was done by my family and myself to try and find the right sort of help but, in the end, the 'proof is in the pudding'!
Home Instead, from the first telephone calls with my son, to the first meeting here with me to discuss what I needed (in a very unhurried and helpful way), through to the day that I was introduced to my caregiver in September 2017, made this journey as easy and supportive as possible.
I soon began to feel comfortable with another person in my home and my life and she has become part of our family. Other caregivers who come are also a pleasure to have around; kind, helpful, good workers - but, the main thing is they actually do care! (and, to be truthful, that's all any of us really want: someone who cares.)

Wonderful caregivers whose support and understanding makes it possible for Mum to remain happily in her own home. Continuity of care is understandably important to her, and Mum is looked after by the same two kindly, intelligent and reliable ladies who take it in turns to visit daily. Mum has formed
a lovely bond with them. Home Instead is also good at keeping in touch with the family, which we find very reassuring.

We had tried a funded service provider but found they were really unreliable. When we were told (incorrectly) our mother would have to self-fund I rang numerous providers who either didn't have the capability or didn't bother to ring back. What a breath of fresh air the manager is. I was very impressed
from the first time we spoke. She is very proactive, a great problem solver and always looking for solutions. Her team turn up when they are scheduled and we receive a rota so my dad knows who is coming.
The manager arranged a review meeting after the first month so we could iron out any issues as my 90 year old dad is not always happy with the house routine being changed. But the manager was fantastic with Dad and brought in the district nursing matron to see how we could make Mum's life better.
The care team are very respectful and experienced. What we like is that the team build a relationship with the family so there is a good communication stream.

All carers are kind and very caring to mum and she loves to have them visit her although some do not seem to be able to get to grips on helping her with her hearing aids but this is not really a problem.

I have been so impressed with Home Instead. They are reliable, friendly, easy to talk to. The care they provide my Dad ensures that he can be in his own home rather than residential care. He has a really good relationship with the vast majority of the caregivers (he has two carers, three times a
day). They are always willing to help him with all his personal care, they call me if they have any concerns and they really go that extra mile, far more than I could have hoped.

  • If a Home Care Provider does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
