Home Instead Barnet provides award-winning personalised home care for older people that is dignified, reliable and relationship-led.

The care is tailored, flexible and adaptable to the client's needs and lifestyle. As daily tasks become more challenging in the home, Home Instead offers support to clients and their families with a range of support to help clients continue to maintain independence. All Care Professionals can support with home help, dementia care, medication administration, personal care, and companionship.

The care service is relationship-based; they match a Care Professional(s) to the client based on care needs, personality and interests; the clients have visits from a couple or a small team of Care Professionals who get to know the ins and outs of their needs and preferences, and are able to spot and react to anything unusual.

Care visits last at least one hour to ensure the Care Professionals are not rushing and care is delivered to a high quality. Activities are logged online and family members have instant access after the visit is completed.

All Care Professionals are hand-picked for their character and values and are expertly trained to support older people and their families. Each one undergoes extensive background checks and is given high-quality training to provide the confidence, knowledge, and skills to care for older people.

Feel free to contact the team for advice or to discuss options for care at home, they would be delighted to help.

The two carers that spent time with my mum were both lovely. We used the agency mainly to take my mum out on outings, to complement the time I was able to spend on the weekend etc. She always had a wonderful time and became very fond of them. Very helpfully, the carers would send me a photo/WhatsApp
message, to show where they had been, as my mum's memory is very poor so she would not remember. That way, I could remind her where she had been, chat about it, and also be reassured that she had been out on a nice trip, in good company.

The Caregivers were very happy to spend this time with her. We want to work alongside the family to make such visits enjoyable for everyone.

Absolutely brilliant. I have complete confidence in my mother’s 2 carers.
I live abroad. Desperate for care after my mother’s cancer surgery, I called Home Instead. Within 24 hours all was in place.
Their 1st priority - to ensure my mother was safe.
2nd - formalities.
The carer ensured the best
possible care, from both herself and the NHS, was given.
When I told her my mother was behaving abnormally, she suspected sepsis and immediately had her admitted to hospital thereby saving her life.
Despite having family, for several weeks, the carer visited 2x/day, 7 days/wk until a 2nd carer was in place.
2 years later, mum (95), is cared for by 2 wonderfully kind and caring people who keep me updated, see to all her needs and, importantly, keep her company and engaged with life.
They are trained in dealing with various health issues including dementia and their helpful tips have been a godsend.
The 2 directors are also great and have gone above and beyond to make my life easier.
They care, it is no job.

I am very happy with Home Instead. I live overseas and my dad lives in the UK. He suffers from Alzheimer's and lives alone. Home Instead are a great help to me in looking after him. The caregivers are wonderful and Dad is very happy and gets along well with them so I am at peace knowing he is in good
hands. Anything that I want to get done for my dad is taken care of by the caregivers, from shopping to getting things fixed in his house. Taking him for outings, housekeeping for him. I would recommend Home Instead anytime.

Thank you for your kind feedback. We will always help in any way we can, especially since you are living abroad. We are happy to be your first port of call with regards to his care.

We have been using Home Instead for my father’s care for the last 2 years. During this time the service given has been fantastic. The caregivers are kind, professional and thorough, often going beyond their remit and the scheduling department go out of their way to ensure everything possible is done
in order to look after Dad in every circumstance. Recently we have had to put in temporary extra care and nothing has been too much trouble. As a family, we are very happy with Home Instead. Thank you.

It was a difficult step to bring someone in to look after my brother, but living at a distance and with the current lockdown he needed more support than I could provide given that he is housebound, suffers from dementia, and has other health problems. When I contacted Home Instead at the end of March
to arrange care for my brother, they sorted everything out within days. His carer is bright, hard-working, and efficient and manages to care for my brother and his flat very well.

What is particularly impressive is the way the staff goes the extra mile to make sure their clients are safe. My brother had a problem with drains flooding his flat. In no time at all, they visited my brother, assessed the situation, and contacted the relevant people to fix the problem. When a drainage company paid a call, they were there at the flat to explain the situation and to make sure my brother was okay. And they followed the problem through until it was resolved.

Home Instead are brilliant!

We appreciate how families can feel living away from their loved ones, especially when such situations happen. We aim to offer an extension of the care you provide, rather than there to do a job.

We are using the Barnet branch in London to care for my mother who will be 92 in July. Given the current pandemic, the company has supported my mother at every turn. They are caring and have well trained and willing staff to work with both my mother and our family to personalise the care for her. It’s
not easy at the best of times to care for older people but they are patient and make a considerable effort on all fronts. Not sure what we would do without them.

It has been great to work so closely with you in getting the care right for her. Her CAREGivers truly care for her and will do their best to support her, as will the office team.

Home Instead Senior Care has been supplying my 93-year-old mother with care for about two years now, and without them, I don't think I would sleep so easily at night! Their caregivers are lovely, thoughtful and kind, as well as thorough and professional.
Communications with the head office are streamlined:
fast to react to changes of circumstances, finding resolutions to the unexpected quickly and without fuss. Especially during my mother's isolation during Covid-19 lockdown her carer practised scrupulous safeguarding and hygiene whilst still maintaining a relaxed and very thoughtful relationship with my mum.

My father has used Home Instead for over three years. We have always been very happy with the service. It is reliable, responsive and efficient. He has a regular carer which is good for continuity, reviews have been held regularly. The admin staff are always available for any issue which may arise or
any change of service required.

We needed some help with my mother, who we thought may need some help around the house. We didn't want to put her in a care home because she was quite confident and loved being at home, albeit, also to go out around the neighbourhood. We came across Home Instead and wanted to try it out. From the first
call, they were very professional. I managed to speak to the right person and shortly after met for a consultation. We addressed the needs for my mother and we were more than surprised by what the new carers could do for her. As time went on, my mother told us that the carer was really friendly and she managed to help with her shopping and the carer really made her day brighter just by visiting, talking, checking in and just by being there to see if there was anything that my mother would want. The carers were on time and did all those extra bits and went that much further for my mother. We are really glad to have visits a few times a week and would recommend Home Instead to anyone who needs the smallest of help to more serious assistance. Great work!

Since moving over to Home Instead Senior Care (Barnet) last year, I have been very happy with the services for my mum. The care staff are excellent and go above and beyond and are well suited to my mum in terms of personality and her specific requirements. It is also great that the same staff are rotated
and not continuously changed. The management team are also excellent and very supportive and responsive. I feel very secure in the knowledge that my mum is well looked after. They were also fantastic with providing unexpected short term 24-hour support after hospital discharge over the Christmas holiday period. Thank you to all the staff.

We moved the care for my father to Home Instead and they have been Excellent. The office staff were able to immediately find carers who lived in the area and who were able to work at the times required. They are always available at the end of the phone or email to help, answer questions or take special
requests and even out of hours the phone is always answered.
The Carers we have are fantastic, they are always on time and willing to go the extra mile if needed. When my father had to go to hospital, they were able to stay with him while the ambulance was on its way.
One of the things that attracted us was that the carers are all local and don't travel huge distances to make each appointment, this makes life much easier if someone is unable to make an appointment or extra time is needed on some days. They have also provided overnight care when required at short notice, which was very useful.
We are delighted with the care we get from Home Instead and thoroughly recommend them.

The carers who look after my mother are very kind and gentle with her. Nothing I ask of them seems to be too much trouble. They do extra things like cleaning which I haven't asked of them but which are so helpful to me. It gives me incredible peace of mind to know they see her every day and will let
me know if anything is wrong. The office is very approachable too and everyone I have spoken to there has made me feel listened to and to not feel a burden with my requests.

Getting going was not as smooth as I'd hoped but the care and support my parents are receiving is excellent. I get regular, almost daily, check-ins from the team as to our, now rapidly changing, needs, which during this extremely difficult time is most definitely appreciated. Specifically, around Covid-19
they have stringent policies to protect both clients and staff which is very reassuring and they are well equipped which gives my parents the confidence that they are safe. Home Instead strive hard to match the carer with the client and in this, they did an excellent job. The care is primarily for my dad who is very ill, and they provide great care for him; but my mum who is elderly and simply needs assistance with some household tasks is also looked after and this gives me and my sister peace of mind, which is what we were looking for.
They are easy to contact 24h, as you'd expect, and very responsive (I have written emails late at night and have received responses in minutes).

Reply from Sohini Boron, Director at Home Instead (Barnet)

We apologise for the glitch when starting the care, and we are pleased we did find the right CAREGiver to match the needs of your parents. Our support extends to the whole family and we will work around the clock to achieve this.

Home Instead have cared for my Mother in Law for over 3 years with 2 visits a day. They have been reliable and offered a consistency in carers so that she and the carers build trust and friendship which is so important to my Mother in law. We have no hesitation in recommending Home Instead for clients
that live on their own independently.

The Manager was so warm and friendly on the initial visit and that made me feel very confident. My point of contact in the office was also lovely and always around to speak to if needed. My Uncle's carer was just the best. Very clean and thorough and the perfect personality for my Uncle. She kept me
informed and I know she really took her job very seriously. Thank you to her for the care and dignity you showed.

Home Instead gave care and support to my father for the last 18 months of his life. When my brother, who was caring for our father, was unexpectedly admitted to hospital we needed to find a care solution. We settled on Home Instead because they came across as not just professional, but as also wanting
to try and provide care that genuinely suited the person being cared for. The way they provided care that changed with time and circumstances as my father became more frail and ill, was impressive. I was very touched by the number of Home Instead staff who came to my father's funeral.
