Mumby’s Live-in Care is an award-winning, outstanding CQC-rated care provider that is family-led, with family values at the heart of everything they do. Clients, their families, staff and carers are all treated like family.

Founder, Ann Mumby, has over 30 years of care experience and provides a key leadership role to her team. Ann passionately believes that live-in care is a better option than a care home. Most people want to stay independent in their own home and having a professional live-in carer allows them to enjoy life to the full with respect, dignity and choice.

Since its inception in 2002, Mumby’s has helped over 2100 people remain independent in their own homes. They gained an Outstanding rating from the CQC (the independent regulator of health and social care in England) on 12 February 2019.

As well as providing the needed care to stay in the comfort and familiarity of home, Mumby’s Live-in Care also accommodates the important things like family, friends and neighbours, couples can stay together and clients can enjoy their interests when they want, enjoy their gardens and pets.

Mumby's offer care choices for people seeking care, with a fully-managed live-in carer option or an Introductory Service so clients and family can decide the best service for their situation.

At Mumby's Live-in Care they know how big the decision for care is. Their professionalism and passion for providing the very best personal care permeate every part of Mumby’s. The expert team sensitively support the decision-making process for care. They guide and provide all the information needed to make the right decision.

My elderly parents have been very well cared for by Mumby's for the past 2 and a half years. Mumby's is a professional yet compassionate care agency with a knowledgeable, kind and very patient management team. My parents have quite complicated needs, yet the care managers always try hard to provide
them with the best possible care, despite the limited resources available to us. They are always available to speak to on the telephone and always listen to any concerns. The carers themselves have all been kind, considerate, professional and extremely hard-working and have treated my parents as if they were members of their own family. I would thoroughly recommend Mumby's to anyone looking for live-in care for a family member.

I was extremley worried when I came out of hospital, as I was living on my own and my ability to move around was greatly minimised. But I need not have worried because my carer was lovely, cooking great meals and generally looking after me. I got a glowing letter from the consultant during my 6-week
check-up and that was thanks to my carer making me do the exercises.

We were truly blessed when we were recommended to Mumby’s by my father's GP. The care and attention to detail have been first-class. Mumby’s are so very kind, thoughtful and professional. I would like to thank his live-in carer for being so lovely and patient with Dad, and the care manager, who has
done so much to help us with a difficult situation; she really did go above and beyond what could be expected.

My return to better health and strength has been considerably helped by the care and encouragement provided. From the time of their arrival I have felt that my comfort and progress was of first importance. The house is always well-managed with meals of own choice arriving when expected. The exercise
routine is of great value and does help considerably with balance. I have greatly appreciated being free to speak freely to the office staff and thank them for their kindness and advice.

It was a pleasure to be cared for by a Mumby's carer for just over five days while my husband was in Italy. She had a lovely personality, nothing was too much trouble for her and her main focus was on keeping me safe and preventing me from doing anything which might have led to an accident. Although
I did not receive ‘personal care’ from her, I have no doubt that she would have provided this efficiently and tactfully had it been required. Her cooking skills are good, and she was happy to help me with cooking when I asked to be involved. Her understanding of English is excellent. Although she was startled to find that I was able to drive, she came on a few local trips with me, helping to put my walking aids and me safely into the car. I have absolutely no faults to find at all.

We needed care for our friend, who was taken ill suddenly, and Mumby's were able to provide it. They were very friendly and helpful and came out to assess the situation very quickly. The carer arrived within days and is very caring and kind. She has only been here a week but has settled in and is looking
after our friend, who has always been very independent, very sympathetically. She is a good cook and caters to all our friend's needs. It is such a relief to know that she is being so well cared for and is now safe.
The staff are at the end of the phone line and are very supportive.

Mumby's and their carers are truly outstanding.

My father has had live-in care from a number of agencies for years. Never have we ever experienced the outstanding level of care provided by Mumby's. From the very first call, late one evening in a panic, as the carer due to arrive in 2 days had dropped

out, we knew Mumby's were different. They genuinely seemed to care, they called back in the evening and they were determined to help. There is a national care crisis but they managed to find us the most fantastic carer within a few days. They went to meet Dad within 24 hours of the first call, they made sure they found the right person, they checked in on the carer regularly etc.

And then the carer herself ... the lovely carer. She is caring, kind, competent, efficient and best of all for my dad, really good fun too. She has shown so much initiative - getting the plumbing fixed, sorting things at the GP, talking to hearing aid providers etc. She is truly fantastic!

She was likeable and friendly, with a great sense of humour. She asked intelligent questions and was popular with members of staff. She was a very good cook. The charge of £1500 per week is very heavy, particularly when we found that she was only getting a third of it.

Reply from Ann Mumby, Admin at Mumby's Live-in Care

We are sorry to hear that you felt this was not good value for money. But in light of the fact that the care was for two people we feel that this is a fair charge.

We would like to thank all concerned with our mothers care from Mumby's.
I have worked in elder care for 25 years myself and found everyone at Mumby's to be excellent from management to care staff.
Everyone wants the best for their loved ones and nothing is too much for this amazing company, they
embraced Mum's care with respect and kindness at all times.
I would highly recommend Mumby's to anyone.

After a series of falls by my 86 year old mother who lives with my disabled father, I was recommended Mumby's amongst other care agencies. After telephoning around to find out the best, fastest solution, I was most impressed by Mumby's response, the manager's obvious concern and care and also offering
the best and fastest solution. We were visited the next day to meet my father and discuss his/our needs, she then came back to me later that night with a few carer proposals and duly arrived with al lovely lady from Slovakia the following day. A difficult transition for my father to accept care meant things were far from simple, Mumby's was supportive all the way through and enormously helpful in the way they handled the situation. We are now on our third carer from the agency, a delightful French lady who has settling in very well. Each hand over has been very well handled and Mumby's have been very sensible about the pricing. I could not recommend them enough.

I felt overwhelmed with how to cope with my mum's care but after contacting Mumby's I was so reassured.
Since the assessment, Mum has been provided with first-class care.
Everybody at Mumby's has been kind and supportive, nothing is too much trouble.
Mum and I are both very happy.

Having had very little experience with a care company previously, Mumby's team have been nothing more than exceptional in their support, care and professionalism in assisting us. They have been so understanding both to the client and to us. Their knowledge, communication and consideration of a very
difficult situation has proven to be invaluable. They work as a team along with other faculties which has enabled us to focus on the decisions that need to be made and not to be immersed in the anxiety of a stressful situation. We would not hesitate to recommend Mumby's - their staff are a pleasure to work with, their on-site care people are of a very high standard, they have supported and reassured us throughout and most importantly their knowledge and connections have been so helpful to us in understanding an area we knew very little about. If you need a reliable, professional care company Mumby's is the company you need to use.

Mumby's carers treated my parent with respect and dignity as he required during a difficult time of his life. Mumby's took time to find a carer that would suit in a particularly demanding situation and see we could carry on maintaining a standard of life for my father that he needed until the end. We
are very grateful.

In terms of care, my father is receiving exemplary care. He is treated more as the carer's relative than as a patient. She has quickly established his trust and he is experiencing a better quality of life than before hospital with daily walks, exercises, lots of music and talking.
I cannot fault the
care he is receiving.
Some points for improvement. 1. there has been some inconsistency between management regarding equipment needs which has introduced an unnecessary cost. 2. it has been less handover and relax and involved a lot more input than expected.
