Meadow Lodge Home Care Services are exemplary and a shining example of best practice in the care industry.
The support my dad has received since employing this agency has been second to none, with all home care visits being met in line with his care package requirements. The care workers are exceptional
in the quality of care and assistance they provide and my dad’s remarkable rehabilitation since being discharged from the hospital in February is, for the most part, down to the care and attention he has received from them.
In summary, the Meadow Lodge Home Care team really care and deserves recognition for their service going above and beyond.

I cannot praise these ladies enough! In just a month, the difference they have made to my daughter is amazing.
They are very caring and take the time to actually ask her what she wants, not just walk in and do the minimum. They also make my life a little easier, so thank you very much.

Mum always felt safe and cared for. The girls made it possible for her to just get on with her day without having to sit for hours after just getting dressed. Helping her keep her independence and showing dignity and respect. Still offering choices even though they knew what she would say. Beautiful
girls with hearts of gold and stories to tell. Mum enjoyed the chats. And spoke highly of all.

I have been cared for by Meadow Lodge carers since July having spent 16 weeks in hospital. They have helped me wash, dress and get around my current downstairs bedroom. I have advanced well with their care and now am no longer in need of carers. They have all been very efficient, caring and extremely
friendly and approachable. I would recommend the company and certainly use them again should the need arise. Special thanks to the carers who have been with me the most. Thank you.

The decision to appoint a care providing service for my mam, was no doubt the hardest decision, which brings along anxieties re guilt, doing the right thing, will they be nice to her and protect her dignity etc. I feel blessed and reassured to have such an amazing team in place. Any issues were/are
always addressed and sorted out. Carers and main point of contact genuinely carry out their duties as though they are caring for their own loved ones. Their interaction with my mam and myself/family, is commendable. I am definitely reassured to know they raise and act on concerns in my absence, immediately. They forward think and elevate pressures from myself/family, by always recommending, contacting and putting in place the appropriate agencies/services re doctors, physio, SALT team etc. Clearly caring, professional and experienced staff, who chase up all issues and concerns.

Job Title: Registered Manager

Hi, I’m Nikki. I am the registered manager and I have worked for Meadow Lodge Home Care Services for 17 years.

My journey in health and social care began when I was 16, alongside my college course BTEC National Diploma in Science and Health Studies - I worked as a health care assistant in a care home close to where I lived.

I had a short break away from care when I completed my college course and worked in animal insurance as an accounts administrator, and then as an Operations Manager for a local large vegetable freezing factory – However I didn’t feel I was gaining the job satisfaction I had experienced in care - so in 2005 a chance conversation with the local Football Pools collector who advised me a local care home was looking for an experienced account and payroll administrator lead me to apply for a position at Meadow Lodge Care Home in Kellington.

Through work-based learning, I progressed from this position to become the Training and Compliance Officer and in 2010 I moved from the care home to the Domiciliary Care office in Sherburn in Elmet as the HR Manager, finally in 2017 after qualifying in Level 5 Diploma in Health and Social Care an opportunity arose for me to become Registered Manager.

I am actively involved in working with Wakefield Council, NHS and Integrated Partnership Boards as part of a team developing initiatives for better experiences within Health and Social Care.

Over the years my hobbies have ranged from being a qualified British Sub Aqua Club scuba diving instructor to riding horses; now I love to travel and spend time with my family.

Job Title: Recruitment and HR Officer

I have been with Meadow Lodge Home Cares Services since May 2016. I started my journey at Meadowlodge in a part-time Admin Support role. I am now the Recruitment & HR officer and deal with all aspects of the recruitment processes and administrative duties. This is my first employment within the care industry, though I gained vast transferrable skills when I previously I have worked in hospitality management and administrative roles.

The things that I enjoy about working at Meadow Lodge Home Care Services are the friendly and approachable working environment, but the best thing ever is when a new carer comes on board and they are amazed at how much they enjoy the Carer role, and some wished they had made the move into Social Care much earlier in their careers. It really does give me a warm fuzzy feeling. I think most people have a disillusioned idea of what it means to be a carer, and you can never know until you have tried it.
