Nurseplus were wonderful. They provided someone to be awake all night in my husband's room for palliative care so I could have an uninterrupted night's sleep. It was rejuvenating and the carer could not have been more friendly. The office people kept in touch to make sure all was well. All very efficient.
I highly recommend.

Everybody was very helpful and kind with my wife. We could not have asked for any better professional care. All my wife's need were taken care of and nothing was too much to ask for. We needed care immediately and someone was available straight away. The assessment was made two hours after the first phone call. It was thorough, extensive and sensitive. The staff are superb, the management is incredibly helpful and the overall service is excellent.

I had a major operation, so needed some help with personal care, but mainly domestic help eg: laundry, cleaning, cooking etc. The two ladies were very personable and helpful, enabling me to gradually regain my independence.

Can’t fault the care my elderly mother received from Nurse+. She was provided with whole day care whilst I was on a training course.


As always the staff were polite and courteous and Mum always likes to see anyone from the company.

The client is in the advanced stages of motor neurone disease plus other related ailments. Nurseplus have, for some considerable time, provided overnight care initially for 9 hours, now 12. Throughout each of two-member teams have proved punctual, smart, courteous and very professional. Treating the
client with respect and consideration at all times. They have kept the family appraised of the client's problems at all times. Very satisfied with the level of care.

We used Nurse Plus for two years, both my parents had dementia. For the last 18 months, my parents had the same carers continuously which was very important. They were very dedicated and treated my parents with dignity and respect. They became more like family and supported me too.

Nurse Plus & Carers Plus (Newton Abbot) needs to train their staff on how to handle difficult older people. My 95-year mother had a weeks notice from this company and it was very stressful to mum and me. Different carers arriving very worrying for clients.

Due to the few specific carers your mother requested, we found we were in an untenable situation in providing your mother with continuity of carer and fulfil the hours and times requested which may have left your mother vulnerable. On taking guidance from the local authority it was deemed in your mother's best interest to source another care provider and we were requested to give 7 days notice. In my previous life, I have been a qualified Chef, a proprietor of a small family catering business and a bookmaker. Before moving to Devon, I worked for adult social care for Leeds city council and alongside this, I was a shop steward and health and safety officer for the GMB.


My journey with Nurseplus started in February 2016. I began as a domiciliary professional out in the community of Teignbridge. I completed 6 months and was then approached by the Newton Abbot office team to see if I would like a position with them as a Homecare coordinator.


I stayed in that role until March 2020, when the Registered Managers post became available and I thought that the timing for me was perfect, so I took the plunge. I gained my registration and my level 5 Diploma in leadership for health and social care, children and young people’s services- Adults residential Management (England)

I joined Nurseplus in August 2018 as an HCA as I wanted to step down after working as a Registered manager in a Care home. I have 22 years of experience in care and mainly worked with elderly clients. I also trained as a chef and was awarded Day Release Catering Student of the Year in 1987.


I then transferred to home care in April 2020 initially on nights and then into days for a homecare client which I really loved.


It was great to spend 1 to 1 time with the client completing crosswords and cooking cakes for her.
At the beginning of January 2021, I took up my role as Homecare Coordinator in the office and enjoy being part of the Newton Abbot branch team and meeting new clients and families.
