Oxford House Community Care provides high-quality person-centred care, support and companionship to people in their own homes. Care visits range from 30-minute visits to full-time live-in care.

The aim is to support individuals to retain their independence in their own homes and the team cover the Berkshire and South Buckinghamshire areas. Oxford House Community Care was acknowledged to be Outstanding under the ‘well-led’ category in its most recent CQC inspection (March 2019).

The team has over 30 years' experience in supporting individuals, with services ranging from domestic support to complex care needs, including dementia, palliative care, learning disabilities and reduced mobility needs. The care provided reflects not only a person’s health and well-being needs, but also their personal preferences and interests, giving them choice and control.

Oxford House Community Care recognises that every person they care for is an individual, so the care team take time to understand the level of care that is needed and work with them to create a care package that meets their needs, which can evolve over time.

The experienced, friendly team can explore all care options, including further opportunities that are available in the local community through time for you visits and help with assisted technology. Real time technologies help keep families up to date and involved with the care being delivered.

The care team are happy to discuss your home care requirements and the range of available funding options on a person-by-person basis.

Oxfordhouse has been providing home care for my mum for over 3 years.
She has been through so much with previous carers, and the difference since being with Oxford House has been truly life-changing.
They are not just carers to us,they have become like family.
My mum has built a bond with all the
staff and so have i.
The kindness, respect, and genuine care they all show my mum every single day mean the world. It's not just the way they look after her physical needs, but the warmth and companionship they bring into her life.
She feels safe, valued, and happy, and that is priceless.
From the carers to the office staff, every single one of them has been incredible. Their dedication, professionalism, and compassion never go unnoticed. Even down to how they always keep me informed of any concerns, ensuring that my mum gets the best possible care. Knowing she is in such good hands brings me so much comfort.

Our family has been receiving excellent care services from Oxford House since 2022. This is our first experience of private care and right from our initial contact with the managerial staff they have guided and supported us, ensuring that they are available to get to know our family and carers so that
they are a good match that will provide the most appropriate care. They are very approachable and always make time for discussion, are active listeners and follow through to ensure that our expectations and changing needs are met.
They are always very professional, respecting our family's privacy and their client's dignity. They are extremely responsive and proactive which gives us great peace of mind and confidence when we have a change in circumstance such as a change of carer, illness or hospitalization. They are also very supportive and will always go above and beyond, showing a lot of empathy when helping both our family member and her carer.

I am suffering from heart failure. Have struggled a long time on my own but finally had to admit I needed help. Arranged through an organisation. Apart from marrying my wife, it's the best thing I ever did.
An hour a day, 5 days a week in just four weeks: My long neglected maisonette has lost its deep
patina of dust, my carpets have never been so clean, my shower sparkles. I no longer dread weekends when I had to take my rubbish out - my carer and I bag it together but my carer carries it down a ramp and into the bins. I seek to do the onerous tasks like the food waste bin - but am overridden.
I'm aware that my carer is continually assessing me (!!) and checking that I'm good to go. My breakfast is cooked and served - I'm in a rut, eat an easy over-fried egg and toasted waffle every morning, plus a mug of coffee, black, half a teaspoon of sugar, level teaspoon of instant coffee, plus a yogurt or piece of fruit. All sussed by my carers and provisioned with a smile.

As before with Oxford House, I have found the carers to be very kind and professional. They carry out their duties quickly and are good at explaining to Mum what they are doing. I would recommend, and have recommended them, to friends who have parents with developing challenges. It was a hard step for
me to take to accept help but from the engagement with the social worker originally organising cover for my holidays and business trips, to the carers that came for respite, and now having to step up to 2 x carers 4 x a day as Mum's mobility deteriorated so badly during an illness, that the carers have become a really big part of our day. They are always so nice, and have been a levelling presence when Mum was showing signs of panic and illness, helping me to explain things calmly to emergency services. I really appreciate their efforts and kindness.

My husband is happy with the care he is receiving from the carers at Oxford House. They are very friendly and still retain their professionalism. They always ask if there is anything they can do for me too which is very nice. We have only had care from Oxford House since the 13th of November 2023 but
we do not have any problems with any area within this care company.

I have been visiting my parents from Australia and just wanted to give very positive feedback about the carer who comes to help with my dad. She is punctual, polite, very caring and a total credit to your service.
Please pass on my thanks to her and wish her all the best with her career... she told
me she wants to train in nursing. She would be excellent in nursing.

Having promised my husband I would care for him at home in his last months, I could not have managed his needs without the help and support of Oxford House. Their carers are calm, professional, compassionate and always reliable. The backup office team are unfailingly helpful in liaising with other health
service providers and always having time to listen to concerns and problems, often offering solutions and good advice. The training is excellent, and I thank the whole team for aiding me through this difficult time.

Positive points of the carers are: their attention to details that need doing but cannot always be expressed.
Positive points of Managerial staff are: ready to listen, consistent helpful attitude to put things right, to ensure smooth transition of any changes in health.

We've been with Oxford House Community Care for well over a year now and we can't be happier with the level of care provided by them. Always friendly, cheerful and very caring. My hubby is very happy with the care and help he receives. They take their time and he doesn't feel rushed by the carers and
everything is left tidy when they leave. Thank you.

Staff were very informative and took the time to find out all that they needed to know to help the client - from management to carers level. Staff kept in touch to see if any more help was needed. Suggestions of any equipment that could help more (especially with mobility) was quickly forthcoming. I
did not need four calls per day, but the morning call was extremely helpful, but I could ask for more calls if required.

The administration department dealt effectively and with patience and understanding to our various date changes caused by operation cancellations. All the carers were polite, friendly and understanding of our circumstances. They had a very good understanding of what was required to get my wife to bed
each evening and carried out their tasks with kindness and efficiency. One, in particular, had a very good personal relationship with my wife, and it was a pleasure to hear them laughing together.

I have been a client of Oxford House since being discharged from hospital about 1 year ago. I receive 3 visits a day from one of the carers, a 1-hour visit in the morning, and a 30-minute visit at lunchtime and another 30-minute visit in the evening. Each visit includes providing a meal and for the
morning visit, I am also assisted to get showered and dressed.
The carers are caring and helpful and I cannot praise them too highly for their professionalism. Overall, I am very pleased with the service I receive from Oxford House Community Care.

We continue to be very pleased with the care provided to my mother in her own home. Her carer is more like a friend and is a very welcome visitor. Our mother is able to stay in her own home and can manage well with the support her carer provides on a daily basis. The carer is very reliable, caring and
will always go the extra mile to ensure our mother is safe and well.

I do not have enough praise for this wonderful care company. Oxford House have been looking after my father for many years, the last few being even more challenging. The care staff are amazing, so caring and kind.

Most recently the 'Registered Manager' has gone above and beyond not only to care for

my father's needs but also my mother's welfare. Thank you so much, I cannot thank you enough, Oxford House are extremely lucky to have you with your amazing organisational skills, compassion and care.

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.
