My mum has received excellent care from Sussex Grange Home Care for many years. She had four visits per day and my dad was also her carer. In early November my dad was diagnosed with terminal cancer. I moved down from Yorkshire to help care for my parents. The staff and management were wonderful at
supporting all of us. Throughout this whole horrible time, the staff were kind, professional and compassionate and they went over and above for us. The manager fought hard for Sussex Grange to be approved as the care provider for Dad in his final weeks which was his wish. Dad was very happy when this was granted. The staff cared for both my parents in their own home with compassion and dignity, even shaving dad on the day that he died as they knew this was important to him. Sadly Mum died unexpectedly four days before Dad died. The staff, especially two staff members in particular were a shoulder to cry on for me. I cannot thank them enough or praise Sussex Grange highly enough. Would definitely recommend!

Wow, what an amazing review. I would like to thank you for your kind words. It was such a pleasure delivering care to your mum, and then your dad, what a lovely couple they were. It was so nice to be able to care for them both in their home, where they both wanted to be. All the staff were very fond of them both, even when Dad was checking the clock for the 9 pm slot, not a minute before, it still made us all smile. You and your family were so strong, during the hard couple of months, it was a very sad and emotional time for you all. I know that we will all remember Mum and Dad with fond memories, each member of staff has their own memories.

Angels in green tabards is the only way to describe Sussex Grange. My father made the decision to stop his cancer treatment and have end-of-life care at home, and seeing these ladies twice/three times a day made my father feel very comfortable and at ease with what was happening. Not only did they arrive
each time with a smile and warm hands/hearts, but they nursed my father through the toughest period of his life with dignity and compassion.
They were a massive support structure also to myself and my mother in the last remaining weeks of his life, offered that supportive shoulder to lean on in a very tough time.
As a family, we were truly blessed to have Sussex Grange in our lives, support with a smile, care with love, compassion and dignity throughout.

Thank you for such a lovely review. It was such a pleasure caring for your dad, he was such an amazing man. We definitely had happy and sad moments, and he always managed to give us one of his lovely smiles. As a family, you did absolutely amazing, the care and support you had for your dad, and for each other was so strong and was a pleasure to be part of. You have lots of happy memories and even carry on the plastic construction building, that your dad got interested in.

Sussex Grange supported my mum whilst I had a couple of weeks holiday out of the UK. I am Mum's primary caregiver and wanted to make sure she was looked after whilst I was away. At the preassessment, we went through everything, processes, likes, dislikes etc. The care plan was thorough and detailed.
Everything ran very smoothly and Mum was happy with all the carers. It gave me massive reassurance to know that should anything happen they would deal with it. I will definitely be using them again for future holidays.

Reply from Corinna Forsdike, Registered Manager at Sussex Grange Home Care (Chichester, Selsey, Hambrook)

Thank you for such a lovely review. It was such a pleasure caring for your mum, whilst you were on holiday. The care staff built a very good rapport with her. They had many interesting conversations with her about different places that she had been to, Dawlish, New York, New Forrest and Mauritius. Your mum told the staff about adventures that she had riding a motorbike through France to Italy. It is such a compliment to hear that you will be using our service again in the future. We will all look forward to visiting your mum again.

The Sussex Grange team of home carers has been Angels in disguise for our family. At a time when our father was in urgent need of support, the team were there within 10 minutes to carry out an assessment and started supporting our father immediately. The carers are extremely professional and treat our
father with compassion and dignity. Communication is excellent, with any concerns being flagged to us immediately. The team go above and beyond to ensure that our father is looked after and cared for and importantly he looks forward to their visits and trusts them. We feel truly lucky to have found them.

Thank you for such lovely feedback, it was such a pleasure caring for your dad. He showed all the staff his expertise in his engineering skills and the traction engine that he had built from scratch. Your dad was such an interesting man and the staff had many conversations with him about his working life at the airport where he worked for 38 years.

The manager and deputy came out to see Mum before the care started to understand her requirements. The staff were very friendly and made sure Mum received the care and support she needed in her own home, nothing was too much trouble. I would recommend this service.

Sussex Grange carers and managers all provided excellent care for my late mum. They were professional at all times and always displayed respect, empathy and were very sensitive to the way they provided care. Carers were always reliable and didn't rush their visits. Carers became not only Mum's friends
but also our friends as they kept us informed with any concerns regarding Mum's health or mobility needs. Carers always showed respect and remained professional, even when Mum could be cantankerous at times. They respected Mum and her home and always demonstrated professionalism for themselves and Sussex Grange as a company. Carers went the extra mile and always put Mum at the centre of her care. They were always patient and tried to encourage and enable Mum to do things for herself that she was able to do in a safe way. They kept Mum as independent as possible for as long as possible to enable her to remain living alone in her own home as per her wishes.

Reply from Corinna Forsdike, Registered Manager at Sussex Grange Home Care (Chichester, Selsey, Hambrook)

Thank you for your lovely words about our amazing care team. I know that your mum has a special place in the care staff's hearts, they were all very fond of her. She always made them smile with some of the comments she used to say to them, always with that slight grin on her face. Such a determined lady, knew exactly what she wanted, and how she wanted it. She is free now like a beautiful butterfly and will never be forgotten.

We have been very impressed by the care shown to Mum. The brief was to help her regain independence after a fall and broken arm. This has been done leading to a gradual withdrawal of the service. Everyone has been friendly and professional and has helped to show Mum tricks to make life easier, like
putting on her vest.
It is lovely that such a good relationship has been built up. This means that we want you to continue a weekly visit for assistance with a bath and we know that should we require more help in the future it will not be something we or Mum need to be worried about.

I couldn’t recommend this care company enough. We recently had Sussex Grange to cover care for our family holiday and was overjoyed with the care my dad received. The management team were so helpful and organised and the carers couldn’t have been lovelier. Every morning we were greeted with bright bubbly
smiles and enthusiasm. My dad felt so at ease with the whole team and it was lovely to hear the laughter and positivity whilst care was being provided. They also gave great recommendations for things to do on our trip.
A huge thank you to the whole team from us all.
Looking forward to booking again in the summer!

My mum started using Sussex Grange care services around 7 years ago.
As she became less mobile and her health issues increased, Sussex Grange were able to accommodate extra home visits and services. They are friendly, reliable and consistent. The whole team treated her with dignity and respect, often
going out of their way and above and beyond to check on her and make sure she was ok. Mum feels like she has made some lovely friendships over the years. With their care and support my mum managed to remain in her own home for as long as possible. Now the time has come to move into 24-hour care near us, but I know she would recommend Sussex Grange to anyone that needs extra support or care in their home, as would I.

Thank you for such a lovely review. It was such a pleasure providing support and care to your mum. Seeing all the new ornaments of ducks around her home, always made us smile. Your mum always ensured that the staff had their cup of coffee in the morning, we all enjoyed our laughs and chats with her, also saying good morning to Presley. We all hope that she settles in her new home and is very happy there. We will all miss her very much.

The Sussex Grange Home Care Team have been outstanding in their dealings with us and the twice-daily care they have supported Mum with. I have chosen palliative care for Colon Cancer and left the hospital in September 2023 requiring daily care and Sussex Grange Home Care were suggested and arranged following my discharge. They contacted my wife and made immediate cover available quickly and easily. To date, they have supplied excellent
friendly and professional care on a daily basis and all of my carers have made me comfortable and able to make the best out of each day.
They are always on time or let me know if any unforeseen circumstances may make them late together with issuing updated information each week on who is going to attend each day.

We were recommended to Sussex Grange Home Care by a friend and were so grateful for their help on a short-term basis. My husband had a bad fall and needed some personal care on his return from hospital. Nothing was too much trouble when I initially made contact and although we only needed help for a
short while, the professionalism of the managers and carers was exceptional. I was kept informed at all times as to who would be visiting and the wonderful carers always arrived on time and were happy to help with anything that needed doing. There were occasions when we had to change the day for visits as we still had hospital appointments to keep and this was always accommodated in a polite and efficient manner. Thank you all at Sussex Grange for coming to our aid when we needed it most. We have no hesitation in recommending their services and will reach for the phone should we ever need help again.

I can’t recommend Sussex Grange enough, all the girls are pleasant, caring and approachable. I had reservations about having carers but it’s the best thing, we could have done, Mum looks forward to the visits every day.
Communication is excellent and the manager and the team go out of their way to
accommodate the changing needs of living with Alzheimer’s, they’ve arranged an extra visit when required, changed a visit time to fit with daycare, all the things that make a huge difference not only to mum’s life but to mine as well.

I want to congratulate the home care team at Sussex Grange for responding quickly, competently and caringly for both my parents when they needed care. Indeed if it had not been for the home care team advising me of the support that should be in place post-hospital discharge, my father may well have
declined severely in health. Their care shone through, and the knowledge the team shared with me to make sure that everything necessary for my father was in place to ensure his well-being was gratefully received and acted upon. Thank you.

Thank you for writing such a lovely review. It has been a pleasure to be able to care for your mother and father. I know that the care team are very fond of them both.
