Tendacare is an established local homecare organisation of over 30 years that provides homecare visits to adults who are generally older and/or disabled living in the neighbouring areas of Great Bookham, Fetcham, Leatherhead, Ashtead and Epsom. Many of the staff work proudly for Tendacare and have done for many years because they really understand person-centred care, independence and dignity.

Following discussion and a non-obligatory assessment by an experienced assessor, visits can be arranged from half an hour and increased in quarter of an hour time blocks as required. Clients can receive as much or as little care as they wish, from once a fortnight to five times a day with two care staff if needed. Tendacare staff are flexible and responsive to clients’ needs and use careful planning to provide a tailored service that considers clients’ commitments and appointments.

We have been using Tendacare for quite a few years now to provide ad hoc care for my husband when I am out. The office staff are always extremely friendly and helpful and have always managed to fit us in when requested. The carers who visit are friendly and reliable. They carry out their duties with
complete efficiency but also maintain a happy friendly atmosphere. I am so grateful to them as I am able to spend a few hours away from home with complete confidence that he will be looked after properly and should there be a problem, the carers know exactly what to do and who to contact. I can't recommend them highly enough.

I have had carers from Tendacare for over a year now. I have 3 visits a week. I have both physical and mental disorders and my carer is always very kind and caring. I have help showering, getting dressed and drying my hair. Also changing my bed and taking the rubbish away. All this is done in such a
way that I never feel embarrassed. I have a main carer who comes but if for any reason she can't come, then I am phoned and told who is coming. I have had 5 of them and each one gives the same high standard.

We (my brother and I) used Tendacare to assist our 24/7 carers with personal care for our elderly bed-bound mother, both in the morning and evening during her end of life care.
Using their experience, they helped the 24/7 carers with washing and changing our mother during these difficult weeks. They
were kind and efficient, but occasionally slightly late, due to difficulties encountered with earlier visits to others.

The Tendacare team looked after both my parents, most recently my father over a two year period. They always acted with the utmost care, compassion, dignity, professionalism and friendly manner.
They made a huge positive difference to my parents and enabled them to continue to live in their own home,
which was their wish. The family also greatly appreciated the support of the Tendacare team and the knowledge our parents were in such good hands.

My husband has a brain tumour, which is inoperable. We were recommended to us Tendacare by the district nurse team. We are very happy to have them come into our home. They provide a great support in helping with my husband's personal hygiene in a friendly, efficient way. Nearly always arriving promptly,
and if required would provide a light breakfast.
I trust them completely and would not hesitate to pass their company name onto others . Having a regular staff member is important to us too.

I have my daughter home for different weeks during the year. Tendacare have always fitted us in, my daughter is wheelchair bound has CP. They are efficient; the ladies who visit us are all friendly, they make her laugh, she loves having them in to help her shower and dress and cannot manage without
them.

Tendacare came highly recommended to us for my mother-in-law several years ago and have fully justified their reputation; we had no hesitation in approaching them for our neighbour. Their staff have been unfailingly professional, caring and reliable. Timing of visits was generally good; and understandably,
given that there are inevitable emergencies on occasion, they were sometimes delayed. Staff let us know if they had any concerns about our neighbour.

My name is Sue Smith and I am the owner and registered manager of Tendacare.
It is over 30 years since I had the 'dream' of having my own business. When leaving school I trained as a nurse and after a few years of working in various staff nursing posts, I became a district nurse and worked in the community.
During this time I could see there was a need arising for people to be able to organise and be in control of the support they needed at home with personal care needs and gradually Tendacare was born and the business grew.
Now I continue to be responsible for leading and directing the homecare service that we provide employing 50 staff who share the same commitment and values as I had when it first began. With pride, I can say that Tendacare has a really good team of staff who know and understand how to set up and follow through packages of care that will give the outcomes our clients desire.
