Formally known as TLC Homecare, Choices Homecare's motto is 'skilled care your way', which is a philosophy they look to bring to older and vulnerable adults throughout South and West Yorkshire. They are proud to support people to live in their own homes for longer and can provide a full range of homecare services.

Their 'Values' are embedded throughout the Organisation to ensure they reflect their Vision (...to deliver a service to be proud of, and that they are able to deliver the best quality of care that they can for all of their service users.

They offer a person centred approach to a wide range of care needs (offering support with: personal care, meal preparation, medication assistance, home respite/safety check visits or sitting services whilst family go out, assisting service users to go out into the community, shopping, light domestic help and more). They can also provide support to adults who suffer dementia or those with learning or other disabilities.

There is a strong focus on quality recruitment and training and Choices are passionate about delivering safe, well planned services; care and support workers promote choice and independence to assist service users in remaining as independent as possible, whatever the situation. Outcome-focused services take account of client preferences and aspirations, with 'Choices' considering themselves as 'working in partnership with their service users' to deliver, quality services to each and every one.

Mum's care is excellent. Obviously know all her needs, is Covid adherent. When normal carer not available, and ad-hoc comes, many fo not stay allocated time, wash up oy make a drink. You need more training as to what new carers are required to do. Her carer Monday to Friday is excellent. Weekend carers?

Thanks for taking the time to review us on Homecare.co.uk; we really appreciate all feedback received (both positive and negative), to assist us in making future improvements. We are really pleased you find your 'Mum's care is excellent and that you feel our staff know all your Mum's needs. We are sorry to hear that those who may visit when regular care staff aren't available (normally due to leave or sickness from time to time), do not always stay their full time and could perhaps help out more with making a drink and washing pots (and also take on board your comment re weekend staff). Please rest assured your comments will be passed on to the service manager to allow compliments to be passed on where needed and any issues to be looked into and investigated further where this is required. Thanks again for your feedback and comments.

I am very pleased with all aspects of the service. The initial assessment was professional, thorough and friendly, and any time I have needed to contact admin or local coordinator, I have been very satisfied. The two carers who regularly come are very friendly and caring and conduct themselves professionally.
I have no reservations at all.

Carers and office staff are friendly whilst professional. If I see a problem that might arise, they offer ideas and solutions. The carers are trustworthy and reliable, keep me updated. I have no qualms about going out for a while, knowing Mum is in safe hands. If we didn't have carers like these, Mum
would be in a nursing home, which is the last thing I want for her.

The carers are very kind and helpful. Very pleasant and help me to clean by helping me with shower and keeping my commode very clean. Sometimes carer has to open bleach or disinfector, find it hard with my hands these days. If I am having a bad time with a stoma and don't feel too well, they try to
comfort me. If I have to change my days, the staff in the office are very accommodating.

Overall, I am satisfied with the care you provide; only on odd occasions. My daughter has received a call from your office asking her to cover a bed or lunch call, of course, I understand. We are all living in a very difficult time at the moment, and that everyone in the company is trying their best
to make sure I am receiving the best possible care, and I thank you very much.

TLC Homecare is very professionally organised and puts a lot of thought into the creation of my individual care plan. The carers are also very flexible in terms of what they do on each individual day/week because, due to a number of deteriorating medical conditions, I'm not always well enough for them
to do the basics as set out in my daily care plan but they always adapt that to my needs. The carers are friendly, helpful and concerned for my welfare. I would not hesitate to recommend the company to a new service user.

All eight carers have proved friendly and helpful with a morning call to start the day, and in the evening to be ready for bed.

The service of four daily visits commenced in December 2019. After the first week, when Mum, myself and the carers understood what was required and had a basic knowledge of each other, then the majority of the time, everything was completed very satisfactorily. The carers were gentle, compassionate
and caring when attending to Mum's needs, especially during her last week, before she died in January 2020. The carers were always speaking to her and letting her know what they were doing and why they were moving her etc.

Overall good. Certain carers that visit have not been as good as others. Some write in the manual that duties have been done which have not. Eg saying that Mum had taken her medication but it was found by my brother on the table when he visited. Not being informed of a fall she received and not all
the carers change her.

The care that my mother gets is very good. The only fault I can find is that the visits are not all on time but I think a lot of that is because of staff being off sick etc.

I'm Carol and I manage the Dearne area, Darfield, Wombwell, Royston and Athersley. I started as a care worker in 1998 at Christmas to earn a bit of extra cash for the kid's Christmas presents, This was supposed to be temporary and that was 25 years ago. Along the way, I somehow landed a care coordinator role without ever realising it in 2003 and have been with the exact same company all these years. Over that time I have had a lot of mums work in my area and now some of their children work for me. I am committed and love to help where I can.

I love my family and pets and always enjoy spending good quality time with them.

I never thought of ever getting into care work until the horrible COVID-19 struck and I couldn't do my previous job. I felt grounded and needed to get out of the house. I then saw a job for home care and thought I'd give that a go! I fell in love with care so much that I gave my other job up and became a team leader, due to hard work, dedication and great transferable skills I became a care coordinator. I joined TLC due to the positive things I had heard and the career progression that is offered. Since starting I have never looked back and can't wait to see where this journey will take me.

In my spare time, I love spending time with my beautiful little boy and husband.
