I recently booked some welfare calls to check on my Mum whilst I was on holiday. The care worker did an amazing job and my Mum looked forward to seeing her every day. I would highly recommend TLC Homecare.

No consultation about the replacement carer covering for maternity leave. No ring back when enquiring about anything.

I find the care provided by my regular carers extremely good but the carers who come when the regular ones are away leave a lot to be desired. Some are OK but there are those who couldn't care less and do not take care.

My experience is the best anyone could have. The girls that see to me are wonderful, never without kindness and always good words. When my husband needed the same care, I said I only wanted TLC to do for him and was over the moon when it worked out my family was also very pleased. We are so grateful

I look forward to the carers coming in. The carers are better than my relatives. I am grateful for the carers because I keep losing my balance and If I don't sit down I fall down and I can't stand for very long. The carers come and do my meals they get me a bottle of water out of the fridge and I always
joke about it being Vodka but I suffer from epilepsy and can't have alcohol.

Four times a day, seven days a week, month in month out, TLC ladies appear and carry out their duties in the most caring manner possible. We really couldn't wish for any better service. Jokingly, when I hear the girls walk down my drive, I will utter the words "The angels are here" but in all seriousness,
they most certainly are.

6 am or 9 pm they are just as cheerful.
My meals are brought to me and everything is left tidy.

My father is in his 90's and has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. As his regular carers have got to know him, they were able to anticipate his needs to provide the level of support that he required. At a recent assessment meeting, because Alzheimer's has affected his short term memory, he was
unable to recall what the carers did! However, I am well aware of everything they did and all the work they carry out is fully appreciated and has been of great help to me and his principal carer. Thanks.

Hello, I'm Emma and I'm the Registered Manager here at Choices Homecare in Barnsley. I began working for Choices Homecare (Formerly TLC) last year and am enjoying the experience. I brought with me a wealth of experience, from starting out as a Care Worker, right through to my current role as Registered Manager of the service.


I enjoy working with my team and supporting them to ensure we continue 'to deliver a service to be proud of' in line with our Vision and PRIDE Values.

Job Title: Care Coordinator

Joined: 1998

I'm Carol and I manage the Dearne area, Darfield, Wombwell, Royston and Athersley. I started as a care worker in 1998 at Christmas to earn a bit of extra cash for the kid's Christmas presents, This was supposed to be temporary and that was 25 years ago. Along the way, I somehow landed a care coordinator role without ever realising it in 2003 and have been with the exact same company all these years. Over that time I have had a lot of mums work in my area and now some of their children work for me. I am committed and love to help where I can.


I love my family and pets and always enjoy spending good quality time with them.

I'm Sarah, a care coordinator covering, Cudworth, Town, Darton and Worsbrough plus anything in between.


I never thought of ever getting into care work until the horrible COVID-19 struck and I couldn't do my previous job. I felt grounded and needed to get out of the house. I then saw a job for home care and thought I'd give that a go! I fell in love with care so much that I gave my other job up and became a team leader, due to hard work, dedication and great transferable skills I became a care coordinator. I joined TLC due to the positive things I had heard and the career progression that is offered. Since starting I have never looked back and can't wait to see where this journey will take me.


In my spare time, I love spending time with my beautiful little boy and husband.

Rita Barker

Job Title: Assessment and Reviewing Officer

Joined: 2017

Rita absolutely loves working in care, and she is constantly making sure the quality of care is up to the best of standards for our service users, ensuring she provides the best support possible and assuring our care workers do too.


When searching for her next adventure, Rita soon came to realise that she wanted to do more within care, so she jumped at the opportunity to become our next ARO. With her extensive skill set and prior knowledge of care, we knew Rita would make a great addition to our team.
