Formally known as WarrenCare, Choices Homecare's motto is 'skilled care your way', which is a philosophy they look to bring to older and vulnerable adults throughout Merseyside and beyond. They are proud to support people to live in their own homes for longer and can provide a full range of homecare services.

Their 'Values' are embedded throughout the Organisation to ensure they reflect their Vision (...to deliver a service to be proud of, and that they are able to deliver the best quality of care that they can for their service users).

They demonstrate a person centred approach to a wide range of care needs (offering support with: personal care, meal preparation, medication assistance, home respite/safety check visits or sitting services whilst family go out, assisting service users to go out into the community, shopping, light domestic help and more). They can also provide support to adults who suffer dementia or those with learning or other disabilities.

With a strong focus on quality recruitment and training, Choices are passionate about delivering safe, well planned services; care and support workers promote choice and independence to assist service users in remaining as independent as possible, whatever their situation. Outcome-focused services take account of client preferences and aspirations, with 'Choices' considering themselves as working in partnership with their service users to deliver quality services to each and every one.

Staff are very welcoming and friendly and supportive and understanding. And I feel safe and comfortable with the staff. My support worker is very funny and I look forward to seeing her. Warren Care are a great company, only been with them since 6th November 2023. Love my support worker she's a superstar.

My son's carer is always punctual. She is pleasant and understanding. She is willing to accommodate my son at short notice. She is approachable and nothing is too much trouble.

Very happy with the care, support and maintaining Mum's dignity. However, the early morning call is very late at 10:30 each day. Mum wants to attend a day centre as she wants the companionship, but although I have been asking for months even for just one morning, I am told there is no availability to
accommodate this request. Disappointing as I know Mum would benefit very much from this. Happy to discuss.

Thank you for taking the time to review us, we really appreciate all feedback received (both positive and negative), to assist us in improving our services in the future. We're really pleased that you feel very happy with the care and support your Mum receives from us but are sorry that we still don't have capacity to accommodate her morning visit at an earlier time. Visit times were agreed through social services at the time your Mum's care package commenced and we are really sorry that we still don't have an earlier slot available. Please do feel welcome to stay in touch with our office team, who will be more than happy to adjust this visit to an earlier time should we have availability to be able to do this in the future. Thanks again for your review!

We had one of your staff come to do a review for our son. This person promised us he would do everything possible to improve our situation and be contacting us within three weeks. When we heard nothing we contacted WarrenCare, we were told this person had left weeks before. First of all, I think such
behaviour is disgusting and disgraceful and secondly why wasn't any of this checked at the time.
I repeat, very good care workers, wish I could say the same for the confusion in the office.

We apologise if the person left before they were able to deal with the situation but understand that additional care visits have been put in place and that this issue has been resolved since. Should you have any further concerns (or feel this issue still hasn't been fully resolved) moving forwards, please do feel welcome to contact the office as soon as possible and our friendly team will be more than happy to try and help. Thanks again for reviewing us through Homecare.co.uk.

The staff are excellent. Treated dad with dignity, and respect and are extremely friendly. Dad was very against carers but the main carers he has have made the transition extremely easy. He is now very comfortable and accepts the help. Two members of staff in particular have been a godsend in helping
with dad's hygiene issues due to dementia, they have lifted a huge weight.

All of your carers work above and beyond their requirements. They treat my father with respect, love and friendliness. My only reservation is the staff shortage, which needs addressing.

Generally happy with service provider, although there have been occasions in the past when they were unable to offer support through short staffing/staff absence, their communication over any changes has improved. Extremely satisfied with care worker who has developed a friendly, supportive yet professional
relationship with service user and family.

Words cannot express our gratitude for the exceptional care our mother received from all the Warren Care staff, who looked after her and made her as comfortable as possible, during what were sadly, the last weeks of her life. Also, the advice, kindness and support we, as a family, received was invaluable.
Thank you all so much, you are very special and a credit to the caring profession.

Overall good. Cannot go to excellent as 1) a few occasions found commode had not been emptied. 2) Timekeeping tended to be haphazard and detrimental to Mother's care - on 4 hourly medication. A number of occasions, morning carer came e.g. 9.30. Lunch carer came 12.30. As 4 hours had not elapsed, no
further medication given by carer in the diary. Result Mother in pain during the afternoon until teatime carer came. The final visit of the day came a few hours later and the same occurred. No medication for the night as 4 hours not elapsed. 3) One occasion I was there, tea time carer came. A young girl, probably early 20's. Mother asked for a sandwich and a cup of tea. Carer did not know how to make a simple sandwich. Actually made it myself!! Otherwise most carers excellent and caring. Pity let down as above.

On the whole, we are fairly satisfied with the service provided. However, there are some issues which need addressing.
1/ On three separate occasions a carer hasn't attended my mothers call - lunch, tea and bed.
2/ Sometimes she gets lunch and then two hours later she is expected to eat an evening
meal.
3/ One of the carers makes my mum very jittery and anxious.

Thank you for taking the time to submit your review, we take all feedback very seriously (both positive and negative) to assist us in improving our services as we move into the future. We are glad you are fairly satisfied with the service provided but we have been in touch to discuss the comments you make further. From time to time, we do have to send a different care worker due to sickness which may result in them getting to the service user a little later than usual rather than at the preferred time. We do everything we can to keep people informed if this is the case, (this can also be if care workers are delayed at a previous call due to an emergency) but we will always get someone there as soon as we can in these circumstances. We also ensure all service users have up to date person centred care plans in their care files to ensure any new or different care workers have full information to hand to help them familiarise themselves with our service users needs, as quickly as possible and to help them deliver the best possible care they can. Please don't hesitate to get in touch with your local office on the usual telephone number should you have any future queries, we will be more than happy to try and help. Thanks again for submitting a review, please rest assured the needs of our service users is of paramount importance to us and we do value your feedback to assist in continually improving our services - thank you.

Great staff and service. Carers are pleasant and professional - always a pleasure to see them. Would prefer continuity of care if possible instead of a variety of carers. The regular carers know my routine and where to find what I need. Overall I'm grateful for the service. Thank you all very much.

Thanks again for your lovely comments, we do wherever possible provide continuity of care but from time to time, due to holidays or sickness etc, we do have to send a different member of staff. If this happens we do all we can to try and ensure our staff are fully aware of what is required and full details of every call are recorded in the service users care plan to help this process be as smooth as possible.

Office staff tell lies (certain people) and cover up for each other. When care staff are sick or on holiday, the office staff never have a rota or skeleton staff to cover. I don't know how to cope at this time or situation. They are sometimes rude when it's their fault and they blame the care staff.
When they are sweet to you on the phone, you know it's bad news or a problem has occurred. If this isn't sorted, you will lose staff (some you have had over the years) and all the excellent care staff just couldn't take the stress.

The overall impression is that care workers are diligent and want to do a good job but that staff members are not enough to cover for sickness or other absence. Management seem to be keen to ensure a good service even under the pressure of resourcing. It would be helpful if there were a formal process
for banking unused hours.

Unfortunately, since one staff member has left, there was no handover. The staff we have presently received have not been well trained in my son's needs.
The staff are frequently late and haven't always informed me of the fact they were going to be late. They haven't been able to use the iPad for my
son's communication needs which is essential.

My mother has used your service since March 2018. Throughout the past months, all the carers who have attended my mother have demonstrated a professional, caring and compassionate approach.
Communication between the office and the client sometimes fails. For example, if a carer is running late/held
up then the office should inform the client.
