This service has good intentions but I feel that some carers are lacking training which spoils what could be a very good service.

I have been using Caremark (East Riding) for a considerable number of years and always found them thoroughly reliable and efficient. They treat me with compassion and respect ensuring that I take all my medication regularly. I received a complete body wash daily followed by a fresh set of clean clothes.
My carers have become friends who visit me twice daily and are always interested in my progress.

The carers are always friendly and thoughtful of my needs. However, when I contact the office my messages are not always passed on.

My partner was very ill with cancer when the staff started coming to him. They were so lovely and kind to him and nothing was too much trouble. The staff chatted to him and also treated him to as much dignity as possible. They always had a chat with me as well. I would recommend your company and care
team to everybody. So thanks to you all.

Overall, care is ok. Some individual carers are absolutely brilliant and a few not so good (e.g if mum says she's not hungry/thirsty I had to leave countless messages to ask them to leave her something to eat and drink due to her diabetes/vascular dementia) She normally eats this as soon as the carer/s
are out of the door. Also needs encouragement at times to have a shower depending on the carer this sometimes doesn't happen and carer leaves after 20 to 30 minutes.

On the whole very good. The staff could do with some support. I have been satisfied with care, the timekeeping is good. I thought in that time I would have met some on the management side.
One carer was rather rough in drying my leg after a shower and rubbed the skin up on my right leg, it's still
rough. That was about two months ago.

I have only been using your services for two weeks so my review is for these weeks only.
I am very impressed so far. I like that we get a weekly rota so we know who is coming and what time.
I did have an incident where a carer never came which was disappointing but the way I was called to see if she
was there and then arrangements were made for another carer to come was very fast and efficient.

When my husband's care was transferred from the Local Authority the timing of the visits was arranged so that they were very similar. This was also agreed with the visit from the field supervisor. This was approximately 8 months ago, we have not had any reviews on changes of times, so we would expect
the agreed times to continue. Unfortunately, over the past few weeks, the times have fluctuated drastically i.e. instead of 8.00 a.m. in the morning my husband can still be waiting for a visit at 11.00 a.m. - by this time he is very upset and anxious, which then affects his mental state for the rest of the day. He is unable to get downstairs until the carer has been to put on his splint, his urine bottle will be full and he is unable to get a drink.
The organisation structures appear to have drastically deteriorated. Most of the carers are efficient, but unfortunately not all of them and don't follow the guidance from the carer, they require more awareness of clients needs.

I had a stroke and have had good help overall during the past 2 1/2 years. Without their help and kindness, I would not have coped with life. I am now on the road to recovery and only need carers twice a day, instead of four times a day now. My life has been better thanks to all their help in supporting
me and my problems, of which I still have a few. Highly recommended from myself.
