My sister and I find the staff superb, knowledgeable and friendly. Few problems with the plumbing but fixed. Place is always clean and tidy.

My husband, who has Parkinson's, is having supervision whilst showering and dressing twice a week. The same two ladies usually alternate the days and they are punctual, professional, caring, friendly and cheerful. We have both built up a good relationship with them and in fact, I think he prefers the
'Belong at Home' days to those when he has me! Joking apart, I am really glad that we chose Belong at Home - it gives me time to relax when I know he is in completely safe and capable hands. Thank you to the manager and the team.

Feel in completely safe hands with Belong at Home carers - on time, cheerful, attentive and will phone with any doubts or alerts on Mum's status. As well as the practical day-to-day things, the carers are genuinely good company and are making my life much easier, and Mum's life longer and better. Happy!

The Belong at Home team are the most caring and professional team that I have encountered, both professionally and personally. They provide daily care for my mother and over the past eight months, have gone above and beyond in helping her settle in her new environment. Aside from the practical support,
they also provide, more importantly, emotional support, alleviating any anxieties that someone with Alzheimer's can present with. As a family, we cannot thank them enough and for being flexible and communicating any issues in a timely manner.

Thank you so much to the Belong at Home team for your help and support with my mum (and dad!). It has been extremely reassuring to know that she will receive a friendly daily visit to get her day started and that her needs are well provided for by the care team. The carers have been fantastic - very
kind and thoughtful, and Mum has really enjoyed their company. The team have also been very flexible in changing visit times to fit in with my parents. I massive thank you to everyone for being prepared to help out when both my parents contracted Covid and Mum was sent home from respite care! The Belong at Home team were not only prepared to come out and care for Mum, but they also increased care hours from 1 to 2 each day over the initial period to provide appropriate care. There has been regular telephone contact from staff checking in with me to make sure we are happy and that Mum's needs are catered for, which has been much appreciated.

As a family, we would like to take this opportunity to thank Belong over the past 4/5 years who enabled our mum to stay comfortably in her own home till the end of her life.
Over time we had to increase visits as needed, she was always well cared for and enjoyed the company of the carers who she had
many happy times with.
Finally, Belong in the past 6 months or so provided an hour-a-week cleaning, which we were more than happy with.

My 91-year-old father has been receiving twice-daily care visits from Belong at Home after a recent illness. The staff are caring and kind. They use their common sense and are happy to help with household tasks as well as personal care. We're very happy with the support Dad is receiving.

We signed up with Belong a Home before Christmas and have found the service to be very good. My husband has Alzheimer’s and I was anxious that he should have some stimulation and exercise. After an initial meeting, we agreed to a 2 hourly companion service each week. This has been very successful, partly
due to the kindness and understanding of the carer and the flexibility of time from all the office staff. My husband has been able to walk for an hour or so and stop for a coffee and cake which has really helped his mood.
Whenever I have spoken to any of the staff they have always been so helpful and courteous. I would have no hesitation in recommending the service.

My 95-year-old parents have used the services of Belong Homecare for the past 3 years.
During this time, my mother and father’s needs increased as their health declined. Belong has been able to adapt quickly by increasing daily visits to 3 times a day. They have provided a reliable service involving
morning visits, lunchtime preparation/medication and evening calls. All of the carers have been wonderful, they are caring and reliable and when on calls, they have been able to assist with washing, cleaning and other household things when required.
A most helpful online gateway provides the family with the ability to catch up on all developments during the day. We could not have asked for a better service, thank you.

Belong at Home has been doing daily visits for my mum who has poor sight and hearing plus dementia. All the carers are professional, work to a high standard and are kind and caring. More importantly, they have taken the time to get to know Mum. This means they can monitor how she is and if there are
any changes - it isn't just up to me. They treat Mum with respect and see the person behind her dementia. Following a recent downturn in her health they contacted me and managed to set up extra visits within 24 hours. The service provided by the whole team is just fantastic and in supporting my mum they support me too. Thank you!

My friend, who has no relatives became more dependent following a Dementia diagnosis two years earlier. Belong domiciliary care initially began calling twice a day to help with medication but as the Dementia progressed they were able to monitor her decline and provide more assistance with personal tasks.
Throughout this time they were conscientious and patient with a lady who could be difficult at times but who in her own way recognised that without them she could not remain at home. Eventually, she moved into an apartment in Belong where she remained semi-independent while still receiving supporting calls from the domiciliary service. Time moved on and so sadly has the Dementia but throughout the care, staff continued to support and monitor the lady's condition, calls were increased to the point that they were simply "popping in " to see that she was safely in bed. I cannot fault the care my friend received, thank you to all those concerned.

We are so grateful that we have support from Belong at Home to care for my mum in her own home. Most days, Mum is able to do quite a lot for herself, but her condition is unpredictable and can lead to her forgetting to take her pills, to get up in the morning, or to get ready for appointments. Knowing
that Belong are visiting Mum twice a day and will let us know of any issues or concerns is very comforting. Their regular visits have helped us to monitor Mum's condition and make some adjustments so it is better managed. We have a very good relationship with all of the team and know we will get a quick response to any questions we have, or problems that we need their help to resolve.

For the short period of time that the team supported my mum, she was very happy - there was a nice relationship developing, and there was consistency with the carers who came to support Mum and from her daycare service. The contact that I had was always professional and polite as well as caring and

My Mother has had the support of the Belong at Home team for a couple of years now, her care needs have varied and increased over that time, the support has been amazing.
Karen and her staff have been proactive and supportive as Mum's needs have increased. Without their support, Mum would no longer
be able to live in her home which is where she wants to be. She needs consistency and patience which they have shown in abundance. I need good communication from them, as Mum's dementia means she can't remember to tell me anything, they have always contacted me quickly and with both ideas and solutions to any issues. Can't recommend them enough.

Belong at Home have provided an excellent care package for our father over the last three years, which has enabled him to live independently. Their visits have not only involved day-to-day physical care, but also emotional support that has shown empathy, patience and an awareness of our father's needs.
Their communication with the immediate family has been outstanding. We cannot thank them enough for all they have done for our father.

Belong at Home Macclesfield gave valuable assistance to my parents for many years and when my mother died two years ago, they immediately increased their care to look after my father who suffers from dementia. The care given is of the highest standard. The staff are professional and above all very caring.
It is a testament to their high standards that they continued to provide excellent service during the pandemic.

Professional, reliable and caring.
I was very undecided in the present situation, about asking for help with my husband who has dementia and mobility problems. However, I feel reassured and 'safe' by the PPE used, and it is good for my husband to see, to laugh and share a joke with someone other than
just myself.

I, and my parents, cannot thank Belong at Home Macclesfield enough for all their help, kindness and support over the years, and especially over the last extremely difficult months.
Management and Carers have gone way above and beyond the call of duty! Their calm, professional, caring approach gives
them the reputation they truly deserve. They are friends, as well as carers, to us all!
The colossal amount of behind the scenes work they have put in, liaising with the teams of professionals working alongside my parents (occupational therapists, physiotherapists etc) has really paid off, and must have taken a tremendous amount of time and energy, which they have just got on with.
We could not have managed to keep mum and dad at home, and out of hospital, without them.
May I also just mention their diligence to health and safety, for staff and clients. Wearing masks, visors, aprons, gloves and following strict protocols has really paid off. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Karen

Karen Burgess

Job Title: Area Manager

Qualifications: NVQ levels 2, 3 & 5 in health and social care.


Experience: Karen has worked in the care sector for 29 years starting as a Support Worker in a dementia unit. After 2 years, Karen took up a position as a Community Support Worker for Social Services working with vulnerable adults in the community. In 2009 she worked as a Senior for the Reablement team within Social Services assisting vulnerable adults to aim towards independence sourcing care and support when required. After 21 years with Social Services, Karen joined Belong at Home as a Community Support Worker quickly rising to Senior and in 2016 she became the Registered Manager for Belong at Home.


Andrew

Andrew Shield

Job Title: Head of Operations (Belong at Home)

Andy is a highly motivated and caring member of the Belong at Home team and its longest-standing colleague, having been appointed as its first community support worker when the service was launched in 2009.


Andy embodies Belong values and has worked across the various Belong at Home regions to support local teams through various challenging periods. He has been instrumental in developing the service to its current level and is committed to taking it to the next level, both in terms of business growth and closer integration with the villages to ensure our services operate in a complementary manner. He is loved and admired by customers and colleagues alike, working closely with his care team and also with other managers, providing support to all who need it. As Head of Operations (Belong at Home), Andrew maintains his focus on the customer, leading by example and showing his usual determination to ensure that clients receive person-centred support from a team in which he is personally invested. Andrew is a great example of someone who lives and breathes the organisation’s ethos, values and culture, and instils these into both his team and other managers. He is a truly inspirational individual.


Rachael

Rachael Gray

Job Title: Practice Development Facilitator

Rachael is an outstanding trainer, who has worked in the Health and Social Care sector for 29 years.


She started with Cheshire County Council in domiciliary care in 1996 and then joined CLS in 1997 where she worked as a Care Assistant and Care Team Leader before progressing to a Care Manager.


Recognising her passion for mentoring and developing others, she made the move to training company, Total People, where she worked for 15 years as a Training Advisor/Assessor/IQA supporting learners through various Health and Social Care qualifications at L2/3/5.


In 2017, she was appointed Practice Development Facilitator for Belong at Home, with responsibility for the professional development of our community support workers across all regions.


An invaluable member of our team, Rachael enjoys empowering others to be able to support customers in a person-centred way to ensure they receive continuity of high quality care.

Elaine Wilson

Job Title: Enquiry Manager

Joined: 2016

Elaine brings a wealth of care sector experience to her role as Senior Enquiry Manager for Belong at Home and, above all, carries it out with enormous empathy and compassion.


She has supported the expansion of Belong’s home care service since 2016, providing advice, information and guidance to people seeking support in their own homes.
