We contacted Bluebird Care on behalf of my sister as we were not happy with her existing care package. They were able to come out and assess my sister almost immediately and put into place a package of care for her. They have an online system which enables you to check which carers have visited their
client and what comments they make, which is especially helpful for relatives at a distance like us. Due to circumstances, we have had to make a lot of calls to the office and the whole team have been exceptionally kind, helpful and professional throughout. We would recommend Bluebird and this team to anybody.

The carers are as punctual as they possibly can be. They always complete their half-hour call. They are friendly and helpful. They will complete any small jobs I ask them after I am showered e.g. putting the vacuum around, putting recycling out and changing bedsheets.

My dad was reluctant to have carers for my mum who has dementia, after meeting the support supervisor, he agreed to give it a go and we've never looked back. It's only been a couple of months but he couldn't be happier and I'm happy too. I was struggling with the care and felt guilty for wanting time
to myself but with Bluebird Care, I know my mum is in safe hands, she laughs and jokes with the carers who all have a wonderful, kind, caring manner, I can't recommend them enough, thank you Bluebird carers.

Really friendly staff, nothing is too much trouble. Communication with head office is first-class with prompt and efficient responses. Meticulous notes are kept on their daily care and I really feel I could contact the owner and the office day or night with an immediate response. Highly recommended.

Very happy with the service provided for my father. Professional but friendly and caring. Particularly impressed with the response to any issues that I raise, no matter how small. There is a genuine interest in 'continuous improvement' and I get a real sense that the company genuinely wants to look
after its customers and do a good job. Bluebird also try to be flexible and work around both my father's and my requirements. Very impressed.

Mom and Dad were reluctant to have carers coming in but my brother and I were struggling to manage all of their care on top of work and our own family commitments. They now really look forward to seeing the carers and having the same carer 90% of the time makes it a lot easier for us all. The carers
took time to get to know Mom and Dad and what they needed help with, which is a great comfort for us all. The office staff are always incredibly helpful, supportive and extremely flexible with moving dates around when needed.

Bluebird have been doing an evening call for my parents for the last few months. My mum has arthritis and mobility issues and my dad has Dementia. Mum was reluctant to have carers coming in but I was struggling to manage all of their care on top of work and having a young family. Soon after the arrangement
started, my mum said how much she enjoyed seeing the carers and looked forward to them coming. They are all lovely and care for my parents with the utmost kindness and respect. As a daughter, this gives me so much reassurance. The office staff are always incredibly helpful and supportive too.

The carers are very supportive both of my husband and of myself the carer. They have become partners with us, understanding and supporting our needs.
The fact that the same worker is sent at the predicted time is so important for my husband, who has short-term memory problems; the routine eases this.

I was scared of having someone come into my home and giving me personal care, but I need not have worried. The whole company have been wonderful. The carers are professional and friendly and look after you with great care. The staff are only a phone call away and will answer any questions professionally

Bluebird Care are excellent, they have a lovely group of carers that do an amazing job. The management team are brilliant too. The care package is tailored around the individual's needs and requirements. They also try to accommodate any changes or additional appointment requests wherever possible. The
carers do an amazing job, they take care of my mom's care needs with respect and dignity, supporting her with all aspects of her needs. They also inform me if my dad is under the weather and needs me to visit. The staff are responsible, respectful and friendly. Care plans are always up to date and diary sheets are filled in, so we know what mom has done each day.
Carers take mom out into the community shopping and lunch to wherever she wants to go, this gives my dad time to chill, relax and time for himself for a few hours which is good. Overall, our experience with Bluebird Care is a very positive one and we will continue the service for many more years. Thank you to each and every one of you.

Bluebird care started looking after my mother-in-law in November 2022 and thank goodness they did! What an amazing group of people they are. From the moment we were introduced to the deputy manager who came and assessed my mother-in-law for her needs, we knew we were in good hands. All of the staff
that care for my mother-in-law give the utmost care, respect and friendship to her and she looks forward to their visits. They also keep up to date with any special needs or medical attention that she needs. They are always on the end of the phone if we need help or advice and we are most grateful and thankful for all they do.

Although this review is dated for October 2022, in fact it's for over 7 years of support for my mom who passed away in October. Bluebird have been magnificent throughout my elderly mother's last years of life, enabling her to live at home despite having difficult mobility issues. Throughout the pandemic
they were faultless, supporting her even when the NHS/doctors wouldn't come out. They lobbied GPS, District Nurses, and others to come out and help. Bluebird were visiting 3 times a day in the last year or so - my mom loved their visits, enjoying their stories and offering more than a few of her own! In her last week, they were the tenderest of all the visitors, and I always felt confident when they were with her. It is the greatest testimony that while I sat with my mom in the last few nights of her life, it was members of her family and certain Bluebird carers, whom she called out for. What more could a loving son ask for his mom? Congratulations Bluebird, you did well.

Thank you all for your excellent care of my sister whilst she was still at home, the carers and staff were very professional and caring towards her, at the time she was against going into a care home and the carers used to see her every day and cook her a hot meal, she went into care in July and the
team were very helpful in assisting us to do this whilst I was unable to do so myself. Excellent service would highly recommend it.

The Bluebird team have been caring for Mum for just over a year, and during that time, they have provided an excellent care package that can be tailored to her changing needs. The staff are all professional, friendly and caring, ensuring Mum’s dignity is maintained at all times. Mum does not want to
go into a care home, and the Bluebird care package has enabled us to look after her at home. It took me a long time to accept we needed help, and thanks to positive word of mouth and recommendations from friends, we went with Bluebird, and we’re so pleased we did!

Bluebird Care Bromsgrove & Redditch is owned and led by Ranjot and Baljit Khatra, who bring with them a wealth of knowledge from their healthcare and finance backgrounds.


Having worked with patients of her own for many years as an Optometrist, Ranjot values the importance of care, communication, and professionalism, and strives to ensure that the care provided to Bluebird Care customers is of the highest quality. It is Ranjot and Baljit’s goal to ensure that Bluebird Care is the very best care provider in the local community, as well as the best employer.


Ranjot and Baljit’s own experience of caring for their grandparents gave them a great appreciation of the importance of carers in keeping people in their own homes. This inspired the couple to start their venture with Bluebird Care, giving them the opportunity to help others live the dignified life they deserve, and be able to stay in the comfort of their own homes.

Sam joined us in 2014 as a part-time carer, allowing her to start a career in care whilst still spending time with her young family. After a period of time, it was obvious that her talents, along with her experience of care, would take her far. Sam has progressed within Bluebird Care from a Carer, a Co-ordinator, Lead Supervisor, then Deputy Manager and now holds the Registered Manager position.


She has worked incredibly hard to build great relations with Customers, Carers and the local health teams to ensure that the Customers receive the high-quality care that they deserve, and continues to support the Carers to ensure they have the full training, mentoring and support needed to deliver this excellent care.


Sam is also our Mental Health First Aider, looking after the well-being of the Bluebird Care family.

Katy Thompson

Job Title: Support Supervisor

Joined: 2014

Katy joined the care sector in 2009 before joining us at Bluebird Care Bromsgrove & Redditch in 2014. Katy began her career with us as a Care Assistant and when the role of a Support Supervisor became available in 2018, Katy was keen to take this opportunity to provide more support for our customers. Katy continues to be a compassionate carer whilst using her knowledge to support and monitor carers and customers alike. Katy is now our Lead Supervisor.


She loves working as part of the Bluebird Care team and strives to provide the highest quality person-centred care. Katy enjoys providing the carers with extra support in the community so they can provide the best support to the customers. Her training includes NVQ 2 and 3 in Health and Social Care and has also trained for the award in Education which enables her to run training courses.


In Katy’s free time, she enjoys being involved in charitable events and has previously taken part in parachuting for a Dementia charity as well as abseiling.

Joanne Thompson

Job Title: Lead Care Co-Ordinator

Joined: 2014

Joanne Thompson began her career in Care in 2008 as a Carer. She went on to join Bluebird Care Bromsgrove & Redditch in 2014 as a Care Coordinator and is now our Lead Care Co-ordinator. Jo's responsibilities include ensuring that all call times are met and managed efficiently and that the care worker - customer suitability and continuity is maintained.


Jo is often the first friendly voice people speak to when phoning the office. She has used her extensive experience in Care and great communication skills to build great relations with local health teams such as social workers, to ensure we are always doing the best for our customers. Jo is also the Office Champion, ensuring the smooth running of all aspects of the office.
