Not only am I the son-in-law of a client who recently died but also the full-time carer for my wife who has a monthly visit from a Home Instead carer.
Overall, Home Instead has been consistently accessible and professional. In particular, I was impressed with the matching of the carer to the client;
so important for the client to be able to bond with the carer and this happened in my mother-in-law's case - she was 97. The principal carer was outstanding, hitting the right note straight away, often going the extra mile and contributing strongly to her enjoying her final days.
On the occasion I have had to call the office, I was always received with a courteous and helpful response.
I have no hesitation in strongly recommending Home Instead, Newport, Shropshire.

We could not be more pleased with the care for my father who has late-stage dementia. After only a week of being a client his main carer was admitted to hospital, as his moving and handling is a two-person job we could have been in an impossible situation. Our two designated carers stepped up to support
us 3 times a day, they have been so kind and totally professional. When we have contacted the office we are responded to courteously and promptly, the staff have been appropriately trained and signed off. We are so grateful to have such understanding and compassionate carers and wholeheartedly recommend Home Instead, Newport Shropshire.

Home Instead were so helpful when we needed help for my mother and father. The caregivers were excellent in both their approach and attention they gave to my parents - for them to stay in their own home was important to us and we were reassured with the kind and efficient service that was provided.

The care provided was excellent. The carers remained professional at all times whilst building a therapeutic relationship. My mum enjoyed the friendly approach the carers provided and looked forward to their visits. We felt confident and comfortable with the carers. The ability to provide person centred
care was excellent, they used initiative to support my mum. For example, understanding her own needs around diet and activities of daily living. This provided a great comfort to me knowing that the care was coming from a place of understanding. We are grateful for the support given to my mum and to us as a family, this is something that we will take with us as a comfort.

Excellent service with wonderful carers. Very organised with the same team of ladies coming in at agreed times. Should a new member come in they would always be introduced to mum first so at all times she knew who would be coming into her house. Very reliable company and I would have no hesitation in

I will always be full of praise and gratitude for the care given to my brother by the Home Instead team. Home Instead employ the highest quality of staff and adhere to the highest standards. My brother was treated with the utmost dignity, kindness and respect. The small, regular and well trained team
of carefully chosen carers ensured a thorough knowledge of my brother and his specific needs. This resulted in continuity of care, which is vital in the provision of quality and safety, especially in the case of dementia sufferers. My brother trusted them and they did all they could to make him feel happy, comfortable and safe. The office team were always professional and efficient and kept me fully informed at all times. They were a pleasure to deal with and worked hard to achieve the exemplary service and standards that we received. Prior to finding Home Instead, I had used a few other care providers with worrying results. Without doubt, Home Instead is far, far superior in every way.

Arrangements for home care were carried out quickly and professionally and led to reliable, friendly and welcoming companionship for my wife. Company maintained contact by telephone and newsletters and, of note, invited us to Coronation coffee morning, which coincided with my wife’s birthday, an added

Carers for my wife provided companionship and help with showering, dressing, cooking, flowers and general jobs around the house.
The carers also allowed me some time off from full time care for her, so helping me to retain some independence.
Overnight stays were very expensive, but a known carer was
reassuring for my wife when I was away.

Home Instead have been helping a family friend for a number of months now, particularly in the mornings when my friend needs some help getting dressed. Whenever I have met her carer, they have always been friendly and kind, which has been very reassuring, nothing is too much trouble for them.

The overall care from Home Instead care staff has been excellent. My mother in law particularly likes the continuity of care, whereby she has a small number of different carers attending, as opposed to lots of different carers.
I feel that the carers have a vested interest in the client and they have
built up a relationship with my mother in law and as well as personal care, they offer reassurance and companionship.
I particularly like that details of each visit, are recorded on the online portal. This means that I can read the carers notes and see how my mother in law is.
Office staff are helpful when I call with any queries and requests.
The only negative is the minimum call time of one hour per visit. We did put a bedtime call in place but my mother in law felt it was too long, as she didn't want companionship at that time of the evening. This meant that we had to resort to using an alternative care agency that offered more flexibility, for this particular daily visit.

We sourced Home Instead to care for my Mother back in 2019 after she had a nasty fall.
She was very reluctant to accept the help at first but the team from consultation to care have been amazing!
Not only does it provide us as a full time working family with peace of mind, but Mum now introduces
her carers as her friends!
They provide everything Mum needs from companionship to shopping and travel to and from appointments. We add extra visits in when we are away on holidays and the team always ensure mum is cared for by her own team of care professionals.
As a family can't thank the whole team enough for what they do.

We are delighted with our caregiver. She is always positive and cheerful and manages to shower, shave and dress my husband (who has Alzheimer's) with plenty of time left for breakfast before transport arrives to take him to day care. He is always happy to see her. The company take great care in reviewing

As a young newly married father of one, I needed a reliable, flexible job that I could work around my childcare commitments and literally stumbled into the world of care. My first role was as a support worker, helping young adults with Learning Difficulties.


It was a tough role, as I had never done anything like this before, particularly supporting someone who has complex needs, however, I was hooked by the fact that I was helping them enjoy life, in my own small way.


That was over twenty years ago, and in that time my career progressed. I have worked in residential, mental health, elderly and home care and have honestly seen the good, the bad and the ugly of the care industry. My final role was as Operations Director with a large national organisation. However I felt that something was missing, and I realised that I hankered after the hands on, close, personal touch of working directly with clients, seeing the immediate impact that my actions could have on a person's quality of life.


Finding Home Instead Senior Care was like finding a needle in a haystack. Our approach to caring for someone in their own home is so refreshingly different, where peoples wishes and desires are at the heart of their care and where we genuinely support clients as if they were our own family is fantastic.


We are not the largest provider in the area by any means, and quite frankly I don't want us to be, as being able to keep our service personal, and special for each individual client, and providing a rewarding fulfilling job for each of our team members, enables us to maintain our high quality standards and be the best provider in our area, and that is much more important to me.

Jenny's Journey to Home Instead Senior Care


Having worked for many years in marketing and sales for a number of businesses, from large organisations such as Kellogg’s and Nestle to a small local school, I always felt that something was missing. After having my children I realised that we can make such a big difference to peoples lives', often by making small simple gestures, such as a smile or an act of kindness, that I wanted to do something that genuinely made a lasting difference. While trying to figure out what I wanted to do, Jason introduced me to Home Instead Senior Care, and I have not looked back since.


I am so proud of the fact that we make a difference each and every day, not only to our clients but also to their families, friends and neighbours. It is a real privilege for us to be invited into someone's home, to help care and support them, sometimes during very stressful periods of time, and to make their lives better, in whatever small way that we can.


Our CAREGivers are the most amazing group of people, that constantly surprise me with their ability to put others first, often before their own families and other commitments.

Having worked many years in manager roles I had the opportunity to change into care, something wanted to do for a very long time. I have had 3 years of experience now in the care sector residential then when the pandemic came along, I could see the struggles and felt I could help most within the community and I have never looked back. In my most recent role, my focus was scheduling and supporting out in the field therefore I have a wealth of knowledge and experience to bring to the Home Instead table.

After finishing my A-Levels in psychology, law and history in 2015 I knew that I wasn’t yet ready for university. So while my friends were busy cramming all of their things into suitcases, I decided to apply for an apprenticeship here at Home Instead. This way I could gain experience in a working environment and also a qualification in Business Administration at the same time. Having been here for a few years now I have progressed to the role of a Recruitment and Engagement Support Officer and I can definitely say that the decision to join the company was the right one as I have been able to develop existing abilities and learn new skills necessary to succeed in the world of work.


I support Andrea in managing initial enquiries from CAREGivers, am responsible for the HR process and constant engagement with the team

My journey into care began when I was 12, watching my mom take care of my grandad and me helping the elderly neighbour next door. I started my 1st job in a care home when I was 18, where it honestly didn’t feel like work whatsoever as I enjoyed being there and it is here where my passion for care grew. To know I could make a small difference in people's lives to help them live safer, and happier and give them a purpose was what I worked for.


During my career path, I switched to domiciliary care and quickly became a senior caregiver and senior team leader, working towards and achieving my QCF levels 2 & 3 and dementia care qualifications. I had a few breaks for my growing family but always returned to care.
