We contacted Home Instead for the care of my wife because they looked after my sister-in-law. The good reports we received about them from her family turned out to be absolutely correct. The care consultant and field care supervisor came out to see us initially, and my daughter and I were very impressed
by their presentation. We signed up on the spot, but unhappily instead of the year of care I was expecting, it turned out to be only three weeks. During that three weeks we met a few of their lovely team of carers. They were all so friendly, professional and efficient. I didn't want my wife to go into a care home to be looked after by other people, so this was the perfect solution. I would highly recommend this company if you are in the same situation.

Excellent service was put into place at short notice with care for not only Mum but to support Dad after his surgery. Loved the portal that was informative and gave peace of mind to the care received.
When I needed to contact the head office for assistance, the queries were dealt with quickly.

The support and peace of mind we have received from Home Instead (Harrogate Ripon & Thirsk) has been excellent. They have really gone above and beyond what we ever imagined a care company could achieve. They think about the individual and work in a diligent and professional manner, but without losing
the human touch side of care.


Home Instead were recommended to us and we would have no hesitation in passing this recommendation on to anyone looking for a care at home option.

Home Instead (Harrogate Ripon & Thirsk) input has enabled my Mum to stay safely home which is where she wants to be. Sharing the care with their team has meant I can spend so much more time just being with my Mum. They even manage around the bad tempered cat.
Carers are kind and adaptable and I believe
Mum has benefited from seeing different faces and having different people to talk to. We have been using Home Instead’s services for a number of years now and they have provided increasing help as Mum’s needs have increased. Additionally, when health issues within my own household have arisen they have always managed to provide extra cover to fill the gaps that would otherwise have been left in Mum’s care.

Our helpers provide excellent support and are passionate about their work. They treat my parent with respect and dignity. They all go above and beyond what is asked of them. The management of our needs is good and responses are prompt.

All the staff at Home Instead are most friendly, helpful and conscientious. It is very reassuring to know that they are looking after my relative with care and compassion. If there are any problems they get in touch and I feel we all work well together. My brother-in-law enjoys the visits and the company/help
that they provide. It’s a massive help to our family to know he’s well-supported.

Saw Home Instead carers working with residents at a care home and was impressed. When my husband and myself needed help we contacted them and are extremely pleased with the service and help they have given. Nothing is too much trouble for carers and office-based staff. A real load has been taken off
me and I now wonder how I managed without them.

I have been a client of Home Instead since mid-September 2022. Staff I have met have all been without exception both punctual and efficient, but more importantly friendly and reassuring. Any assistance I have requested with normal household tasks has always been readily given. Likewise, if an opportunity
has arisen to walk in an adjacent park I have always felt in safe hands. On the very rare occasion I have needed to modify the time of a visit this has always been arranged willingly. My sincerest thanks to all involved.

Our overall experience with Home Instead has been very good. The office staff have always been kind and curteous and very understanding with any issues.

Invaluable help. My mother suddenly started needing help and care 18 months ago. We chose Home Instead Harrogate due to a recommendation and the efficiency with which they looked after us when my mum's situation required care with very little notice. Her needs have changed over time both in quantity
and style of care needed. Again, with the required notice, this has always been efficiently accommodated. She's quite particular my mum! However, from the very beginning, those managing her visits have read her very well and so the ladies who care for her have been just her cup of tea, and on the odd occasion when no change has been made quickly and with total understanding. The ladies take care of her social and care needs as you would hope and the office reacts to any questions we may have and feedback with no problem. My mum has dementia so being able to read the daily reports made by whoever has visited that day is excellent as I then get a clearer idea of how she is. Thank you very much to everyone involved.

All the Home Instead carers that cared for my dad enabled him to stay in his own home until the age of 95. As well as giving him excellent care and support they become friends that he looked forward to seeing daily. The office staff always dealt with any queries promptly and keep me informed of any
changes.

The ladies who visited were always friendly, cheerful, chatty and helpful. They went out of their way to be helpful and proactive going beyond duty to help us. One example, our cat was poorly and one carer saw what was wrong and dealt with it taking a weight off our minds, bringing treats each time
she visited him making a friend for life. We will miss the girls. We only ceased service as palliative care taking over.

The caregivers showed compassion throughout their time looking after mum. It was my dad's wish to keep mum at home and with the support from Home Instead you made this possible. Mum died at home with dad next to her. I cannot thank you enough for enabling this to happen. The caregivers treated mum with
respect and dignity and I had no concerns at all about the quality of care. Thank you.

Before joining Home Instead Karen worked in Sales, Marketing and Advertising. After chatting to a friend who already worked for Home Instead Karen decided to take a completely different career path and joined Home Instead as a CAREGiver.


Karen says ''I settled into my role as a CAREGiver, enjoying such a rewarding role which has gave me so much job satisfaction. It was lovely to find at the end of the day the great joy with the work that we do that makes a difference in people’s lives''. When the opportunity arose Karen started her current role as part of the office team and is the first point of contact for people wanting to explore care options for themselves or a loved one.

Before joining Home Instead Mel worked in various roles within residential care, banking and even ran a creche.

Andy has 20 years of experience working with adults with learning disabilities and has completed his NVQ level 2 and 3 in health & social care. He also spent 4 years working in administration and sales in the manufacturing industry.
Andy is responsible for the preparation of client accounts, payroll and procurement of supplies including PPE as well as the smooth running of the Business Administration function. Andy also oversees the operational side of the business and the roll-out of new technology and systems.

Sheena was Head of Facilities Management for a large global training organisation for over 10 years prior to taking a short career break to have a family. Like many of her generation, she faced the dilemma of looking after her own children whilst coping with the increasing demands of supporting her parents as they grow older.


Sheena's mother lived with Alzheimer's Disease and required daily support from a team of carers. This experience was the driving force behind her decision to open a Home Instead office of her own.


Sheena enjoys supporting her local community including the voluntary sector by offering free workshops in such areas as understanding dementia or scams awareness. As well as being a business owner, Sheena also holds a number of voluntary trustee positions she has maintained with local community groups and charities.
