Mum was extremely well looked after in her home. The care provided supported Mum's physical and mental well-being. The service provided was very proactive, flagging any potential issues both with Mums well-being and with her home. The carers and management frequently went well beyond their core offering/services.
The carers were very kind, friendly and attentive which Mum greatly appreciated. Mum was helped with cleaning, food preparation, medication and provided with someone to engage with (and who showed an interest in her). Bluebird Care has good communication via email, telephone and app. 100% recommended.

Thank you for your lovely review, it was a pleasure looking after your mum, she is such a lovely person and was always happy to see the care assistants, she brought a smile to everyone's face. All of the team will miss her greatly.

My mum has been receiving care from the lovely bluebird ladies since her fall last year. Although Mum made a full recovery, we have decided to stay with Bluebird as they've made such an amazing impact on her mental health. Over the Easter period, a member of the office staff bought round a bunch of
flowers and a lovely card for mum, she was over the moon. These extra little touches make a difference. She's been so lonely since Dad passed and all of us work full time so it can be hard to make it around there as often as we would like. We used to spend a lot of time cleaning, shopping, changing bedding, etc but Bluebird helps us with all of this now and we actually get to enjoy quality time with Mum. I couldn't fault them, I 100% recommend them to anyone needing care at home.

Thank you for such a wonderful review, it's lovely to hear that we have made such a positive difference in all of your lives and that you can now spend quality time with your mum.

Bluebird Care provides a fantastic service to my grandmother, their carers are lovely, so kind and so supportive. I find the office to be really helpful and easy to communicate with, I appreciate how stretched their services are but they are so willing to help whenever they can. Great company and the
perfect peace of mind for both me and my family.

My husband has been a client of Bluebird Care over the last six years due to cancer and diabetes as I am unable to give him showers, dress him or help him with his visit to the toilet. During this time his needs have changed. The young ladies who have looked after my husband have been very professional,
caring and very empathetic when talking to him. They take the time to listen to what he asks for and comply with his wishes. They also take the time to talk to me, including me and supporting me. I could not have my husband at home without their help and support not only from the carers but from the administration staff. Thank you all for your continued support.

Reply from Vicky Poynter, Registered Manager at Bluebird Care Norwich & North Norfolk

Thank you so much for your review, your husband is a true gentleman and it's a pleasure to be able to support not only him but yourself as well.

Excellent communication with office staff also with carers. Carers pleasant and helpful, some lacking in common sense.
Thoughtful when changing staff and times.
Bluebird Carers are responsible for my return to better health (since cooking lunch for me). Carers always willing to listen.
I would happily
recommend Bluebird to anyone in need of care and support.

The carers are very good. The office is not very good, an hour late, not even a phone call when they have been today. I don't complain, I appreciate my care is very good. No worries at all. I tell them not to send bad ones.

The regular carer is excellent, reliable, sensitive and flexible. She is also very imperative when at times another carer has come; she too was very good. The agency is responsive, but like many, has clear challenges to meet demands due to staff shortages in this very rural area.

Thank you for your review, our carers have a wonderful way of working with our customers to deliver person-centred care with a smile and a positive upbeat attitude.

Bluebird Care turned out to be a total waste of time, they are the Boris Johnson of social care totally and utterly pathetic as I've got better carers now and that stuck up manager can take a long walk off a Cromer Pier so avoid these lot, they are as useless as you can get!

Reply from Sarah Newbold, Recruitment Manager at Bluebird Care Norwich & North Norfolk

We take all feedback very seriously, unfortunately, the option has not been given to the management team to address your concerns that you have raised in your review. We welcome conversations with all customers, and all customers are offered the opportunity to raise a formal complaint, as outlined in our customer guide and also on our individual customer reviews that are completed yearly. Bluebird carers look after my Grandad twice a day, morning and bedtime making a huge difference to his day. The carers are always happy and cheerful to see my Grandad and very helpful with his needs, he looks forward to them coming round also, especially for the cooked breakfast to start his day!
My
Grandad recently entered his own poems into a competition run by Bluebird and was over the moon to have won. The prize was an Afternoon Tea brought to my Grandads door, served and presented to us beautifully. An experience that my Grandad, who lives alone, found highly enjoyable and motivational in writing more.
Thank you Bluebird for helping support my Grandad in his later years, you make a huge difference to his day.

Reply from Vicky Poynter, Registered Manager at Bluebird Care Norwich & North Norfolk

Thank you for your review, we loved receiving your Grandad’s poetry submissions for our Summer Wellbeing Competition they brought big smiles to our faces (and a few happy tears too!). The afternoon tea was well deserved, and we are glad we could bring an extra smile and moment of joy to you both, caring for your grandad is always a pleasure.

Bluebird carers looked after my parents for the last few months of my mum's life and have helped keep my dad safe and sane since he was widowed. As a very private and independent gentleman, he struggled with the concept of needing twice daily care, but the tact and diplomacy shown, as well as the kindness,
has helped build his confidence. The carers work hard to tap into his interests - wildlife in the garden, favourite TV programmes and most recently encouraging him to play his piano for them. I live a distance away from my dad and it is a huge relief to know he is in such good hands. Thank you for being so kind and for taking the time to get to know and understand him.

Reply from Vicky Poynter, Registered Manager at Bluebird Care Norwich & North Norfolk

Thank you for your lovely review, we were all so pleased to see dad play his piano and share in the joy it brought him. Seeing our customers smile and watching our care team make a difference is one of the reasons we love what we do. It’s a pleasure to care for your father and we appreciate your kind words.

A smart carer from Bluebird brightens my day. A kind word and a smile does go a long way. Getting about their work most efficiently. Not a minute lost looking after me. I never want to say goodbye, and do my best to hide a sigh.

Sarah Johnson

Job Title: Care Manager

Sarah joined Bluebird Care as one of our very first care assistants, shortly after we opened our office here in Norfolk in 2010. Sarah has held many roles within the company and in 2024 was promoted to Care Manager, she has worked very hard to achieve a number of professional qualifications since joining Bluebird Care and successfully completed her Level 5 in leadership and management in the summer of 2019. Sarah is a respected and loyal member of the team, always dedicated to providing the highest quality of service and support for our customers and staff.

Sarah says:

“I joined Bluebird Care in October 2010 and was among the first five care assistants employed by the company. I started off as a part-time Care Assistant with no background in the industry and little idea of what to expect. With thorough training and the support of the management team, I soon found that it was not only rewarding but also a role I enjoyed and wanted to build my career on with Bluebird Care.

During my time with Bluebird Care, I completed my Level 2 and Level 3 diplomas in Health and Social Care becoming a full-time supervisor in April 2013. I then moved to become the Care Co-ordinator later in the same year. Both roles offered different challenges and gave me a great sense of satisfaction. I went on to complete my Level 3 Diploma in Business Administration and I have recently completed my Level 5 in Leadership and Management.

In my role as Care Manager, I am dedicated to ensuring we are providing excellent service and our customers are receiving good quality care. I have a passion for helping others and am committed to making a positive difference in people's lives through person-centred care planning, promoting independence, dignity and equality. "

I kind of fell into Health & Social Care in July 2019, as it enabled me to work around my family, however, I found that I loved being a Care Assistant and supporting people to remain in their own homes. Every day is different and it’s an amazingly rewarding career, I haven’t looked back, so much so I have progressed my career in care, from being a Home Care Assistant, a Reablement Support Worker, a Care Supervisor and now a Care Coordinator for Bluebird Care Norwich & North Norfolk.

I started my career with BluebirdCare Norwich and North Norfolk in 2019 as a carer, with no experience and felt a little anxious, but I built my knowledge and confidence with the support of the amazing office team.

I love being a carer and seeing the difference I can make in a person's life. Seeing them smile knowing they’re safe and looked after is so rewarding. I became a mentor at the start of 2022, I wanted to help and support the carers as my mentor did for me in 2019.

When I’m not at work I’m found walking around woodland areas and fields with my dog Theo, I don’t enjoy it so much in the winter but Theo does and that’s all that matters.

I came into elderly care later in my life.

I have worked in many different environments completing a variety of roles.

Whilst my children (now men) were small I worked around them and worked in childcare in various pre-schools, I was being paid to play on a daily basis and this suited me.

I started in elderly care in 2006 as a supervisor and subsequently co-ordinator in a new business I was the “office “ for the 1st 18 months.

I was promoted to assistant manager and helped the company to grow and expand. I have completed several NVQs the most recent being L5 in Health & Social Care Management.

I have been an RM at 2 services one for Mental Health & one for the Elderly.

Since 2020 I have worked part-time to meet the needs of my expanding family.

I love spending time with my grandchildren they are my rays of sunshine. I enjoy gardening, reading and crocheting most of my family and friends have a crochet hat! I have 3 dogs who I love walking and getting out with.

I am an avid football fan and a lifelong Hammer (West Ham United).

Had I had the opportunity to play girls'/ladies' football when I was young I would have relished it.

My new chapter with Bluebird is part of my care journey and I hope that I can bring my experiences into my everyday job and also know that I will learn lots more as, as long as I am in care there will be learning opportunities for me.
