Assist and Care is a family-run independent Domiciliary Care Company.

Assist and Care prides itself on going the extra mile, delivering quality care and support within the local community.

All staff are dementia trained and dementia friends. Staff are now doing level 2&3 in Dementia care.

Dementia sits are fast becoming the company's speciality. They recognise carers need a much deserved break, to go and meet friends, run that errand or just have some "me" time

The team understand how difficult it is to find trusted care for loved ones because they too have cared for their own family members through different stages of illness, which makes caring for YOUR loved ones so personal to them.

The company prides itself on delivering quality, person-centred care. All team members are trained and deliver care with compassion, choice, dignity and respect.

Continuity of the same care professional is something Assist and Care feels is extremely important, so that clients and loved ones can feel at ease and build trusted relationships.

Assist and Care is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Covering the following areas;

The Heatons / Levenshulme / Burnage / Withington / Didsbury / Chorlton / Fallowfield

Lovely, attentive staff. Always on time, helpful and know what they're doing. If there is to be a change of staff at any period, we are always notified in advance. They offer the relevant support at all times with patience and are very gentle with my mum. They are flexible to work over the slotted time
if necessary and won't leave you vulnerable in an emergency situation.

Thank you for your lovely review. It's important to us so others can see how we care. It's lovely to see how your Mum has the same carers and the special relationship they have built. Kindest Regards.

If only I had called for help sooner. Making the phone call last year to Assist and Care has proved to be the best call I have made in years. I immediately felt as if my husband and I were a part of the Assist and Care happy family, not just clients. So many things I am so grateful for including companionship,
respect and dignity and I am also grateful we have a specific team allocated to us for continuity. Their help goes above and beyond and they can deal with even the most minor of jobs, jobs I would have done without thinking in the past, before my injury or my husband's Alzheimer's Disease and Vascular Dementia. Our care plan is only 4 x 1 hour sessions per week so with their help and advice, we are able to tailor help where and when needed. No doubt we will need more specific help with personal care as time goes on and I am confident Assist and Care will be there for us. Thank you all, management and carers for everything.

Assist and Care have been supporting our mother at home since 2018. As her needs have changed and she has required more help, they have worked with us to find solutions and have given lots of helpful advice. She now needs 2 carers per call and the agency has provided a consistent team of staff so that
she knows everyone who visits. New staff are introduced by shadowing familiar carers. We really appreciate the flexibility offered when we have to alter call times, sometimes at short notice, and the good communication from Assist and Care staff. Highly recommended.

We are so grateful for the care we received for our mum from Assist and Care. Everything about the service was great. On the management side, we felt that our needs were met with understanding and efficiency. In terms of the care itself, three members of staff in particular were wonderful with Mum.
They made her feel safe, cared for and happy and helped her to live independently and safely. She often referred to them as her friends. Assist and Care responded to all our requests with flexibility and the utmost helpfulness. I would recommend them to anyone who needs support with an elderly or vulnerable person. Thank you!

Mum and I have been very pleased with the service from the care team at Assist and Care. I have been able to book extra shifts when needed. The team have always treated Mum with respect and it is a great relief to me to see she is in safe hands. I have been very grateful for them taking on personal
care such as washing and dressing.

Assist and Care have been looking after my parents for many years now. They cared for my father when he was bed-bound during his final year, and are currently looking after my mother three days a week. She gets on very well with her carers, who aren't just there to do the cooking and pop out to the
shops, but also give her some company and a nice chat. The management are very professional and are at the other end of the phone if my mum needs help day or night. I can thoroughly recommend Assist and Care if you are at that stage where you or your loved ones need some assistance or general care with everyday tasks.

Yes! we have been around for a few years. It is an absolute pleasure to support your mum, any way we can. She has an amazing relationship with her carers and also the office staff. We love listening to her stories and having meaningful conversations. The companionship part of her package is something we know your Mum values a lot. As you know, we are only a phone call away if she needs us.
Kindest regards.

Assist and Care are delivering an excellent service for my husband. At the moment we use them for a sitting service but would not hesitate in using them if our care needs change. The manager came with the carer on the first visit to introduce us to her. She matched the carer to suit my husband’s personality.
We both took to the carer straight away. Her communication skills are excellent. She treats my husband with kindness, dignity and respect. It gives me peace of mind to have some time for myself.
Our daughter is over from Australia at the moment and they have responded to our requests for extra shifts. Thank you, team.

It's been a pleasure to support you and your husband so you can get some respite. It's extremely important that you get some time to recharge. I'm so glad the match was perfect! The carer loves visiting and I know they have a good laugh too.
Kindest Regards Tracey.

There aren't enough compliments I can give to Assist and Care.
From day one of them caring for Mum it has changed our lives for the better. The carers are professional, caring and compassionate. They treat Mum with the utmost respect especially when she repeats the same question over and over! Nothing
is too much trouble, having help with the housework has made a huge difference! I can now spend quality time with Mum rather than having to spend each evening cleaning!
Management goes above and beyond to ensure everything runs seamlessly always ensuring all care needs are met. They communicate with me always and if ever a replacement carer is needed in times of annual leave a new carer is introduced first with her regular carer so that it's never a stranger attending which is so important to someone with dementia.
Mum classes her carers as her friends and tells everyone how wonderful they are. I go to work knowing she is getting the same level of care I give to her.

Professional in the best sense - organised and controlled, and with really human care from people who really care. My dad - who lives with home-share tenants but is otherwise alone, and has memory problems - has got secure support from an organisation and lead carer who makes him light up whenever they
come in the house. He has been supported to engage with exercise and things important to him and has a much better quality of life, as well as support for personal care and minor health issues, appointments, aids and adaptations etc.

Thank you Benjamin for your review. It is always a pleasure to support clients that need our help. Your Dad has built up fantastic relationships with his carers. I am so glad it has given him a better quality of life..so to speak. Also allowing you and the family more quality time with him.

I'm very pleased to have found Assist and Care two and a half years ago. They have been helping me look after my mother. I need a flexible care regime to dovetail with what my siblings and I can do as we live hundreds of miles away but visit frequently for several days. Assist and Care management is
truly helpful, responsive, and caring. They provide a guiding, knowledgeable and experienced service. Any issues are easily, speedily, and helpfully resolved. The care staff cope well with my mother's complex needs providing not just assistance with daily living but a friendly and caring face once or twice most days. Without such a comprehensive and flexible service my mother could not continue to live at home.

Since your care company started to provide daily morning care for my friend I have noticed a clear improvement in his general appearance and level of comfort and health. He is pleased with the care provided and the continuity of carers and I know we can rely on their regular and timely attendance. Thank
you.

My mother is 87, partially sighted, and lives alone since my father died nearly two years ago. This would not be possible without Assist and Care. They visit four times a week and help with shopping, medical appointments, reading instructions, and letters. Most importantly they are good company and
are a good judge of my mother's mental and physical health. Peace of mind for distant relatives.

Completely disingenuous. Management is not on top of carers, some of whom are just bone idle and tell lies. I had to collect evidence and present it to them before they did anything about the poor service they provided to my parents. Even then, they initially tried to talk their way out of it. Took
weeks to get a simple apology.
Fair enough if they were inexpensive, but they charge more or less the same as another provider. Better to pay a few pounds more for a decent service.

Dear Jennifer,
It is such a shame that you felt you had to write such a slandering review when our Manager and Staff went above and beyond not only for your parents but also for your other siblings. So much so your sister has left an honest review. The team who cared for your parents did so with dignity, respect and compassion. We cared for your parents for 14 months and your sister was the prime carer. You did engage with the care for a few weeks. I am sorry to say I have no idea what you refer to in your review. Please do not hesitate to contact me to discuss further, if you feel the need to. We always go the extra mile whilst delivering excellent care. During your parent's end of life, which you were not present for Social workers, district nurses and the like were more than happy with the service we delivered.
Once again I'm sorry you felt the need to write such a review, when in fact it was your sister who we liaised with throughout our time with your Parents.
Regards

My sisters and I have used Assist and Care for over twelve months. I’ve been principal carer for my father for over ten years, with the assistance of professional carers once more personal care was required and two carers to assist with moving and handling. My mother’s care needs have increased over
the last twelve months. The carers have always treated Mum and Dad with the utmost respect, care, and dignity. I’ve always found the management professional and helpful, nothing has ever been too much trouble. The local council social workers and district nurses have had experience of the carers at the house and have commented to me as to the excellent level of care Mum and Dad were receiving. Sadly they have both recently died within two weeks of one another and I must stress that the end-of-life care, attention, and love shown to them, me, and other members of my family was beyond expectations.

Thank you Angela for your lovely review. It was an honour to care for your parents after they had reached well into their nineties. The staff built very good relationships with your Mum and Dad, also other members of your Family. Our Manager was more than happy to go out frequently and check on them. Our managers end of life care is exceptional. She always says its a privilege to care for end of life clients .We often have other professionals commenting on our excellent level of care. I am so pleased you were happy with our support and pleased we were there for you too
Kindest Regards
Tracey

Job Title: Care Manager

Tracey is the founder of Assist and Care, setting up the company in 2010.

Her own experience of caring began at the age of just 15 when her mother was diagnosed with a benign brain tumour, Tracey cared for her mother throughout her life, she also cared for her father at home during his battle with cancer. Her Aunty with Dementia. Tracey gained first-hand experience of the lack of help that was available to the family during these times. The service that was provided was very generic and did not always meet the holistic needs of her loved ones or the rest of the family's needs Tracey decided after the death of her parents to take up a career in caring as it was something she felt extremely passionate about, determined that community care could be delivered to a high standard.

Tracey’s professional career as a carer included working in individual homes, nursing homes, hospitals and also with a local trust providing care for adults with learning disabilities, Tracey works with a holistic approach.

It is a personal mission for Tracey and her daughter Keera to provide the best care and helping hands. A lifelong passion to care for others with dignity and respect and always going the extra mile is at the heart of the company. Consequently, they have grown the business by introducing other key staff members.

Keera grew up spending many hours with her Grandparents, especially with her Grandma who was in a wheelchair. It became second nature for Keera to assist them whenever she could. This childhood experience motivated Keera to achieve a degree in Health and Social Care. Keera has worked alongside her Mother, Tracey at Assist and Care since 2014, not only bringing her organisation skills to the company but also her empathy, sensitivity and understanding that she learnt growing up and beyond helping others when needed.

Job Title: Assistant Manager

Susan started her caring journey age just 19 when she cared for her grandmother in the final year of her life, as she felt the care provided lacked dignity and compassion.

In 2006 Sue's eldest son aged 15 was rushed into hospital with an acquired brain injury.

He spent 6 months in the hospital on life support machines. Sue was overjoyed to learn he would be going back home with her, however following his discharge there was little support from the health care system and what was available was inadequate and did not meet the family's needs.

Sue began working for a small domiciliary care company and her passion for care grew.

Wanting to challenge herself further she changed career direction and started working with children/ adults with complex needs.

Then she returned back to elderly care as this is where her heart is.

Sue loves working with older clients and admires their determination and strength and what a joy it is to listen to the stories they tell.

Sue says her dream and goal for the future is that every person receiving care is given the highest standard of care, moulded around their needs and wishes and not around the needs of a care system. Sue joined the company in May 2023, it is a pleasure to have her on our team. Although office based she enjoys regularly going out to meet and work with our clients.
