Home Instead, Rochdale, specialises in the provision of quality person-centred care and support for adults who want to remain living independently in the comfort of their own homes. Services are extremely flexible, ranging from 1-hour visits to full time care. A provider of specialist services, which include Alzheimer’s and Dementia care.

All clients are matched with Care Professionals based on their personal preferences, interests, experiences and individual needs.

The diverse team of professional care staff are carefully selected through a robust recruitment process that includes an enhanced DBS check and a minimum of four references. Ongoing training and development follows an extensive induction programme to ensure clients experience safe, effective care.

Home Instead have a current Care Quality Commission rating of Good (April 2018) and a recent inspection (December 2022) found all compliance standards continue to be met to an excellent level.

The team have worked with me to try and get some companionship in for my mum who has dementia and they have been amazing. It’s not an easy situation and the manager and her team have stuck with me and understand what is needed, which has been a massive support to ensure my mum and dad both get the best
out of the service. Thank you all. You can’t imagine how special what you all do, is.

Home Instead have been brilliant in helping us deal with a hugely stressful process. All the carers have been wonderful and prepared to go the extra mile to help in in times of crisis (of which there have been a few!) The admin has been equally seamless and stress free and they've all done such a lot
to make our complicated situation completely manageable.

My feedback relates to one carer in particular for taking decisive actions last Thursday, when my father had a mini-stroke.
She recognised the potential symptoms, arranged for an ambulance and waited until it (and I) arrived. As a result, my father made a full recovery and was allowed to return home
the same day.
Personally, I wouldn't have recognised the symptoms, so her actions avoided my father having to have a longer hospital stay, or worse.
We are in awe of the care provided by all your team, but last Thursday she really did go that extra mile

From the initial assessment in December 22, everything that was explained to mum and me has been followed to the letter.
All staff who I and Mum have met and spoken to on the phone, have been very helpful. Pleasant and caring, 100% commitment from all staff.
Thank you you have made Mum much happier
and she feels more secure, so in turn, that makes things less stressful for me. As anyone who is an unpaid carer will know.
A follow up assessment was done last week which was really helpful.

I was very impressed by the way the Rochdale manager dealt with my aunt in the initial meeting. The manager put my aunt completely at ease and offered her important reassurance at what has to count as a difficult moment in her life. The manager left my aunt with "a good feeling" that has now been built
on by the quality of the two carers who have attended her since that initial meeting. Having someone come into your home to take care of you because you've finally got to the stage of life when you need a bit of extra help is a big deal. The situation obviously requires handling with kindness and sensitivity, and this is precisely what the Home Instead carers have provided. In the space of only a few days, the daily visit from her carer is making a very positive difference to my aunt. She is receiving not just excellent practical help from her regular carer but genuine humanity and warmth.

I am an elderly man with health issues. When initially meeting the franchise owner of Home Instead (Rochdale), he sat with my family and me to discuss the carer that Home Instead had chosen for me after assessing my needs. They chose someone that would be comparable to my needs and personality. Their
decision has been beneficial to me, and I am completely satisfied with my carer's service and my overall relationship with my carer and the organisation. Home Instead provides a professional home care service and takes each service user's personal and medical needs into consideration. My standard of care is excellent, and my carer is friendly, professional and thoughtful.

Home instead has enabled us to keep dad in his own home rather than a care home.
The carers are kind and patient and want him to be happy.
Home instead has helped us for about five years now as dad is 94.
There is always someone on call out of hours to answer the phone if there are any problems.
They
are keen to update and keep the care plan relevant and accurate.
They have always helped and supported us in our efforts to give dad the best one-to-one care.

As a family, we had visits from home instead Rochdale for my disabled son. The care professionals that came formed a great bond with my son. In time we felt comfortable leaving my son in their care and they always showed patients and care towards him. It enabled the family a chance to take a step back
and a much needed break. I'd be confident in recommending home instead to friends and family.

From my first contact with Home Instead, I have been very pleased with their very professional service. Home Instead has been providing care for my mum for the past 18 months, and the staff have always been friendly and professional throughout any dealings I have had with them. Despite the difficulties in Mum accepting the need for support, the staff who visit her daily have always been respectful and
patient with her, engaging her in much-needed conversation and encouraging her to accompany them on weekly shopping trips. I know that I can contact the office should I have any concerns and more importantly it is reassuring to know that Home Instead are proactive in seeking opinions about the service they provide and promptly addressing any issues, by initiating regular service reviews with their clients and/or family. I would not hesitate to recommend this company for home care.

As a wife of the service user, my stress levels have reduced significantly. As well as my husband getting excellent care I have some time to myself to recharge my batteries.


It has taken a while to settle into a routine that suits us but Home Instead has been really patient as we have made changes.

The last few months have been a lot easier generally. My husband looks forward to the visits even though he finds the process of getting showered and dressed very tiring. The carers work at his pace, are kind and we are never aware of them having to rush to the next visit. They turn up exactly when they should and we have had the same two carers throughout which helps enormously

My elderly friend has been receiving care for the past 3 years, the carer's are all very friendly, helpful, caring and do take the time each day to ensure she feels safe and cared for.
We have a system of keeping notes in a diary so we can all keep up to date, this is really important for me as a friend
- (only relatives are in Canada) and it really does make a difference and is helpful to everyone.
The Home Instead team in the office are all really helpful as well, I feel we can ask them any questions or queries we may have and they will always 'go the extra mile' to answer/sort anything we have asked about.
I would/have recommended Home Instead to anyone who requires care at Home, they provide an excellent service which is caring, friendly and professional.

From the outset Home Instead has been professional in their dealings with us. The staff seem well trained and genuinely interested in the welfare of my mother. Communication has been good and access to the care plans has been provided so that we can review daily activities - which is useful. We requested
changing days to allow for more care and they acted quickly to accommodate the changes. I would certainly recommend Home Instead to others looking at this type of home care.

My husband has used this service for over five years. It is the best care provider, the carers are excellent. If he has a problem he can ring and talk to the office. The management do try very hard to sort any problems. There are times though when they are short-staffed but they do try to send carers
who have visited the house, who are familiar. I would definitely recommend Home Instead to anyone looking for home care. More expensive but worth it.

My carer works hard and always requests work. She never avoids tasks and is always pleasant and anxious to please. She is polite and friendly, and if we use her care, she makes sure I am comfortable and safe.

My carers are compassionate, caring, always ready to listen to any concerns I have. They work very hard and always try to stop me doing jobs that are heavy and/or demanding.
My main problem has been being charged when my husband (who was the client then) was admitted to hospital where it was an impossibility
to give two weeks' notice which is required, by definition no one can give two weeks' notice when an emergency occurs.

Thank you for your review of our service. We do charge for cancellations that are within 14-days of the scheduled visit, and we understand that it is not always possible to know in advance if a visit has to be cancelled. However, if we did not require the 14-day notice period and we did not have alternative work that we can provide to our staff for a relatively short period of time, then the carer would lose a part of their monthly salary as a result. Because Home Instead charges, we are able to pay the carer, and we are also able to guarantee continuity of staff with the client that they have been visiting in the past.

All my carers were first class, but I must mention in particular my most regular carer for a pleasant and cheery overlook. She was at all times very quick, very efficient and soon adapted to our ways.
She was also very helpful to us with a temporary eye problem.

As the owner of Home Instead Rochdale, my focus is on the service first and the business second as I want to provide a quality service that I would be happy to use for myself and my family.


I have a daughter who used to live with me in Hebden Bridge but she has now flown the nest. When I am not dedicating my time to Home Instead, I enjoy hill walking- especially in the Lake District, spending time in my vegetable garden and looking after my chickens. I also love cooking, but it is really just an excuse to listen to football on the radio and to drink red wine!

I have always worked directly with the public. I have spent the last 16 years of my career working in the care sector with varied experience in Learning Disabilities, Mental Health and Carer Support. I find my role exciting and rewarding, particularly engaging with the whole community and providing support wherever I can.


I was born in Rochdale and live locally. I have two teenage daughters and a cat, they all keep me very busy. When I get a chance to relax (in between being a mum taxi) I enjoy going to the theatre and I also volunteer at local am-dram societies.
