The lady that came today was extremely efficient and charming. I would be pleased if we had her all the time.

As mentioned before mum would appreciate a regular carer, but she understands the difficulties with staff due to holidays, sickness etc. She would appreciate being informed if the carer is running late, although I've tried to explain it's not always possible. She said carers are helpful and kind.

Reply from Michelle Johnson, Director at Bluebird Care Lewes District, Brighton & Hove

Thank you so much for your feedback, which is important. I have asked our team to review our communications with you and your mum to ensure that they are consistent. I have also asked the team to look again at the continuity of carers which we know is very important. Thank you though for your understanding as we are still grappling with carers needing to be off for overdue operations and Covid isolations.

Very good care, friendly carers, chatty. Gentle with the manhandling required. Sometimes a bit later than planned in their timekeeping but they always turn up in the end. Reliable, thank goodness, even in challenging circumstances.

Reply from Michelle Johnson, Director at Bluebird Care Lewes District, Brighton & Hove

Thank you so much for taking the time to write. We are sorry we have been late on occasion and working really hard to ensure these instances are kept to a minimum. Thank you for your understanding though.

Bluebird has provided care for my 95-year-old mother following discharge from a stay in hospital and then a stay in a nursing home. Care has been provided 3 x a day, washing, dressing and personal care. This involved the use of hoists. The initial assessment was very thorough and extensive and the early
visits were sensitive and patient until the care carers became more familiar with my mother's needs. The pressure of work means the visits are not at the arranged times but the carers endeavour to come as planned.

Thank you for your honest review and information. We continue to work very hard to increase our capacity so that we are able to provide more care for our community. Our wonderful carer teams have worked so very hard over the last 2 years to ensure that we are there for everyone.

Arrives promptly at 18.45 wearing PPE, she is very nice and gentle with me helping me shower. She is patient with me and makes sure I am steady at all times. What could be embarrassing she makes very easy. I am comfortable with her.

We have found Bluebird to be reliable and flexible and dedicated to my mum’s needs. All the carers are excellent but in particular, one member of staff has been fantastic and extremely helpful in looking after my mum.

Bluebird Care is a very reliable service, on occasions when staff are late we always receive a phone call beforehand to explain lateness. Over eight or so years we have only been let down a couple of times. Overall, a caring and efficient service.

Reply from Gary Johnson, Owner at Bluebird Care Lewes District, Brighton & Hove

Thank you for your review and also for understanding how difficult the last two years have been with staff having to self-isolate. We continue to work hard to improve the things which are within our control and work to help alter things that are more difficult for us to influence.

I've been with many agencies over the years and Bluebird is by far the best. I feel reassured that everyone from carers to management are both for me as a customer and for each other as colleagues, this makes such a difference. I feel safe and well looked after even when my health is unstable. They
have been great during Covid-19 at adapting to changing needs (adding in shopping calls etc) and ensuring I am as safe and protected as possible.

Thank you so much, for such positive comments. We really do try our best even during such trying times. Thank you for taking the time to write, as ever please let us know if you need anything, always happy to help where we can.

Since my mother started using Bluebird 6/8 years ago, I have had peace of mind knowing they will never let us down, and she will always get the best care. Especially over the last year when covid restrictions have meant, I have not been able o visit her much myself. They are very kind and professional
and keep me informed of any problems she has - health or otherwise. She has used two other compies over the last 10-years and Bluebird is the best.

The care my cousin has is excellent. Although only in his 70's, he lives alone and is very inactive. He demands a lot of attention and reassurance, and as visiting hi, due to covid has been difficult, the Bluebird Care has been a great comfort to him. In turn, it has allowed us to isolate from him,
but know he is happy.
