Carefound Home Care in Harrogate provides highly personalised home care services to older people so that they can enjoy a better quality of life at home with the support of an expert carer when they need it.

Their home care service is rated 'Outstanding' by the Care Quality Commission (November 2017) and they part of a small group of care providers in the country to have achieved this prestigious rating for a second time (previous inspection date June 2015).

Their local team will work with you and your family to develop a bespoke care package to meet your needs, which can involve hourly home care, 24-hour live-in care, or short-term respite care. Care can include anything from companionship, cooking, cleaning through to personal care, medication management or more complex support for specialist conditions such as dementia care, Parkinson’s care or post stroke care.

All of their carers are recruited locally and undergo an extensive recruitment process including interviews, reference checks and an Enhanced DBS Check. They then complete a leading training programme which goes beyond mandatory requirements and includes supporting specialist health conditions.

Importantly, your care is managed by their local branch in Harrogate (24 hours a day, 7 days a week), which ensures that they maintain exceptional levels of support for their carers, clients and their families.

Carefound Home Care is outstanding. Their staff are caring, professional, well trained and skilled. They go over and above the parameters of the job, treating their clients kindly and professionally. Everything they do is in beta practice. The office staff are professional, kind and flexible in arranging

The caring situation must be one of the most difficult to get right. Often a relationship must be struck with the client and their next of kin. The difficulties of age impairments can complicate this. My Careford carers are empathetic, conveying warmth and interest whilst respecting boundaries. They
have my respect and gratitude my husband responds well to them.

Most helpful in arranging an hourly visit per day whilst we took a holiday. No hassle to set up, carers took the time to introduce themselves to us before the service commenced so my mother could be confident with them. Grateful that such ad-hoc support can be offered.

Carers have a pleasant, cheerful disposition and treat my wife and myself with politeness and dignity. They help with choices but allow us to maintain control. The standard of service has enabled us to relax and feel secure. Meals are attractively presented. Given the ingredients, the carers will provide

I have received help in maintaining the care of my wife, her cleanliness and skincare. My carer comes once a week to shower my wife. I use suitable emollient creams to maintain her skin integrity. My carer is fantastic and I often hear my wife and her laughing in the bathroom. She goes the "extra mile"
to ensure that my wife is well cared for and she is fantastic.

Carla Hainsworth

Job Title: Registered Branch Manager

Joined: 2012

I joined Carefound in 2012 as a Home Carer with no prior professional care experience, although I had supported elderly family members. In 2013, I won the Great British Care Awards for Yorkshire and Humberside in the Newcomer to Care category and went on to win the National Newcomer to Care award in 2014.


Following this, I progressed to a Senior Carer role after completing my Level 2 qualification in Health and Social Care and began working towards my Level 3 qualification. In 2017, I advanced to the role of Care Coordinator and subsequently became a Care Manager. I later undertook my Level 5 qualification in Health and Social Care, which I completed in 2021. That same year, I was highly commended at the Yorkshire and Humberside Great British Care Awards for Care Assessor of the Year.


I progressed to Deputy Branch Manager at the end of 2021 and was appointed as Registered Branch Manager in 2023, overseeing the Harrogate Branch.


Outside of work, I enjoy walking and competing with my horse. Recently, I won the Show Cob of the Year 2024 at the Horse of the Year Show.

I began my journey with Carefound as an hourly Carer, progressed to a Senior Carer a year later, and became a Care Manager in January 2023. I am currently working towards completing my Level 5 qualification in Leadership and Management.


I thoroughly enjoy my role as a Care Manager, as no two days are ever the same. I value building relationships with clients, their loved ones, and other healthcare professionals, as I believe we can learn so much from one another.


When I am not at work, you'll likely find me outdoors with my children and two rescue dogs, exploring the local area

I joined Carefound in 2021 as an hourly carer, with no prior experience in the care sector, and quickly realised I had found a job I loved. For two years, I worked as an hourly carer, enjoying the opportunity to build professional relationships with clients and colleagues. I appreciated how much of a difference you can make in someone’s life through caring, and no two clients or visits were ever the same.


In 2023, I progressed to the senior team, where I continued to carry out visits while taking on additional responsibilities. By 2024, I advanced further to become a Care Manager, transitioning to a permanent office-based role.


Outside of work, we have a busy household with children and a dog, we are often involved in various sports activities for the kids. I also enjoy baking birthday cakes for friends and family.

I have been with Carefound for just over two years, initially starting as an hourly carer before progressing to my current role as Recruitment & Community Manager. I work with a fantastic team, and I thoroughly enjoy my job. It offers a lot of variety, with many different aspects to the role—from meeting new people during the recruitment process to organising coffee mornings and events.


I am very family-oriented and come from a large family, so when I'm not working, I spend my time with them, catching up with friends, and taking my 18-month-old Labrador, Charlie, out and about. I also support my partner in his various hobbies, with rallying being the biggest one.
