Home Instead - Exeter & East Devon, with an office and training and development centre on the outskirts of Exeter, East Devon, is a family-owned, local care provider devoted to providing the highest-quality care for older people in the comfort of their own homes. The dedicated team support older and vulnerable persons across the Exeter and east Devon region, up to and including those in the Tiverton and Cullompton communities.

In May 2016, Home Instead (East Devon) became the first home care provider in the South West to be rated overall Outstanding by the CQC, and upon re-inspection was rated 5 Star Outstanding by the CQC in December 2018, a rating shared by less than 0.5 per cent of care providers nationwide.

Home Instead offer a wide range of one-to-one services tailor-made to the needs of the individual - and home visits can be from 1-2 hours a day up to 24-7 care that includes weekends and holidays and Live-In care options.

Services are flexible to the needs of each client. These can include personal care such as assistance with bathing, dressing, eating and medication; home help covering all aspects of day-to-day housework, shopping, meal preparation and household duties; and companionship services that can involve everything from accompanying clients on visits or appointments to simple conversation and good company.

Specialist Alzheimer’s and memory care available with continuity of Care Professional, are at the heart of services. Care Professionals are carefully matched to every client. Specialist Parkinson's Care also available.

I am very pleased with the service that I receive from Home Instead. All the staff are very caring and supportive and they arrive on time. I get on well with all the staff and look forward to them visiting me and they always put a smile on my face. I am kept well informed by the office of any changes
that affect me.

My father received care from Home Instead for the past year. At all times he was treated with dignity. Accepting care had been difficult for my parents but the staff who attended him were just wonderful with both him and my mother. They have moved to live with me and I am not sure that I will be as
lucky finding carers as good as those who came to see my dad. Thank you to them all.

I have found the carers provided by home instead to be helpful, speedy workers who are friendly as well. I did not think I would be able to find such an ideal care provider, but I have done so and would recommend Home Instead without hesitation.

Mum has a team of care givers who give her the best possible care. They all have a good relationship with mum and make sure she is always smart and they follow the routine she always used when she could. The caregivers turn up on time and as it is a busy family home they all fit in well with our routine.
Can't praise them enough all fantastic.

What day is it today? In days gone by, when folk grew old, there was no one to care, but here and now, a helping hand, meets my needs on her rounds. To get me up, wash me down or tuck me up in bed, help me make a cup of tea, or turn my vest the right way round. Rescue comes fast at times of great need,

Laura

Laura Grant

Job Title: General Manager and Registered Manager

Joined: 2012

Laura joined Home Instead in December 2012 in the position of Care Coordinator & Payroll Support about 18 months after the company was formed. She had already achieved her NVQ level 2 & 3 in Health & Social Care in 2011. Laura was quickly promoted to Office Manager in June 2013 where she achieved her NVQ Level 3 in Leadership and Management award at the end of 2013.


Laura accepted the role of Registered Manager in October 2015 following an interview and approval by the Care Quality Commission.


Following the birth of her child and her return from maternity leave, Laura was promoted to Operations Manager in April 2017 alongside continuing her position as the Registered Manager.


In April 2020 she was promoted to General Manager after being interviewed by the Home Instead National Office.


As well as achieving her NVQ's Laura is also a trained trainer in:

   Parkinson's Care
   City and Guilds in Alzheimer’s and other Dementia training
   End of Life Care
   Mental Health First Aid
