The carers that attend my in-laws are all very professional, kind, supportive and above caring. As a family over the communications I receive from Support at Home and the carers themselves is both helpful and enders me to maintain the standard of care needed and continue with supporting my in-laws at

Support at Home provided care for my mum over the last few years. The ladies were so kind and lovely to her and she was able to build good relationships, even friendships with them. The team were an amazing support to the family during Mum's last few weeks and went above and beyond to make sure Mum
had the care she needed, in order to remain at home. Massive thanks to all the carers and the office staff. Keep up the good work!

I have been with Support at Home since 2018, I love all my carers, they have given me lots of support with day-to-day things and things I struggle with. The office staff and owners are amazing and I hope I'm with them for a long time. I see them all like family as I don't have any. I look forward to
them coming to brighten up my day and hope I never lose them as I struggle a lot. Always there to help and on the phone if I need then in the office.

Overall the care standard is good and the continuity of staff is better than the previous agency we used. The things that make me give a 3-star rating are that one of the carers really clashes with my Mum and though I have repeatedly asked for her to be minimised or removed she hasn't been. I know this
is not easy if there are staff shortages or people on holiday but it is frustrating to have my Mum repeatedly distressed by what should be a care visit. Also, I was promised that I could communicate with the carers and office via an app and a communication book left at the property. Neither of these have turned out to be reliable and the only way I can communicate efficiently seems to be by phone call to the office. This too is frustrating. Other than that I believe my Mum is happy with the care received, I find the office staff friendly to deal with and the prices are competitive.

Reply from Wayne Beal, Director at Support at Home

Thank you for your review. We're pleased that you find our care standards good and that the continuity of staff has improved compared to your previous agency. We regret the challenges you've faced with care and communication tools. We understand the importance of your mum feeling comfortable with her care team. Thank you for acknowledging staffing difficulties, especially during the holiday period. We appreciate your patience as we address the issue with the carer not well-matched to your mum. Regarding communication, Openpass is an additional tool for real-time care notes, with messages screened by the Care Manager before being shared. We aim to respond to Openpass messages the same working day or the next day if out of hours. For more info please ask. As a family-run business, we keep fees competitive while ensuring our carers receive a Real Living Wage. We are committed to improving and would love for you to re-review us once you see the changes.

One of my PAs went on long-term sick, so I had to get an agency to cover the sick PA. Therefore, my social worker suggested that I should go with Support at Home, who has been awfully helpful. Especially three ladies, as my care, is somewhat rare because I work, go to pubs, and go to meetings, which
have caused a few teething problems with setting up my care plan. We are actively working through these teething problems and it would be unfair of me to comment on the possible conclusion of these teething problems as they are still ongoing. However, I can comment on the niceness of the Support at Home staff, who are always happy to help where they can. They are surprised that they do not have many clients like me, so they must get to know me, which takes some time. Considering that I am new to Support at Home, so they are doing tremendously well.

Reply from Wayne Beal, Director at Support at Home

Thank you so much for sharing your experience with Support at Home. We truly appreciate your understanding and patience as we work through the initial setup of your care plan. We have been using Support at Home for a few years now with varying levels of care and support required for Mum. Initially Mum required a new hip so was not very mobile. Support at Home came and prepared breakfast/evening meal for Mum and did some general tidying up. The carers were cheerful, talked
to Mum, had a laugh with Mum and generally looked after her very well. In the last month the care has become a bit more complicated with a catheter involved in the morning and draining it on day visit. The carers have taken on this responsibility and have sometimes had to go beyond when accidents have happened. They have performed these tasks willingly, ably and cheerfully. I know there are a few family members working for the organisation and I feel this makes them all want to do a good job looking after their clients and making the business work well.

I have only been with Support at Home for a few weeks and just wanted to say all the carers are lovely, trained well, and come on time to do all the tasks I need. I have had carers for 23-years, and Support at Home is by far the best. They have made me feel so much better.

Support at Home has been looking after my client (I’m her personal assistant) for just over 12-months now. During this time, my clients need have changed dramatically, but Support at Home have adapted to these changes to ensure my client is getting the best possible service, and all of her needs are
met. Each of the carers allocated to my client is very caring and patient. The carers often have to deal with difficult or challenging situations, which they overcome with my clients best interests at the forefront. There is a strong admin team who are always on hand to resolve any problems or issues. I would have no hesitation in recommending Support at Home to potential future clients.

It has been a pleasure getting to know our mutual client and working with you and other professionals in order to find a way to best support her. We are so pleased to have such lovely feedback about our Support Workers; it is lovely to know that they are as highly thought of in the community as we think of them.

It is also great to have the feedback about our office team resolving issues - this is exactly what we aim to do, without delay, so it's lovely to know that it works well for our client's and their support networks too.

Thanks again for such a lovely review and for the recommendation too.

The carer my mum has been attended has been excellent, and they have formed a close bond. Support at Home has been very proactive since the pandemic and has taken all necessary steps to provide PPE and any other relevant safety measures for carers when attending calls. Any issues we’ve had have been
dealt with professionally and resolved quickly.

We are so pleased to hear what a fabulous professional relationship our support worker and your mum have - this is really important to us, and we are thrilled to have matched your mum with a staff member so well.
Staff and client safety has always been really important to us, and especially so during the pandemic - ensuring that PPE has been readily available to all staff members has been essential for us throughout, and it's great to know that this is acknowledged, appreciated and just as important to you - thank you for this.
We are also really glad to know that you have been able to raise any issues that you have encountered and that the processes that we have in place mean that we have been able to resolve them for you quickly. We will always welcome all feedback, both positive and negative.
Thanks again for leaving us such a brilliant review.

Because my mum is very vulnerable, I have peace of mind knowing her carer will be there twice a day to assist her with all her needs.
This means my mum can carry on living in her own home independently, which is very important to her and to us, her family.
The last few months have been unprecedented
and very difficult I know, for all care companies and staff, there has only been one time that her carer didn’t arrive, and this was quickly addresses when I contacted you.
Mum has had a dedicated carer for some time now and is very happy knowing that the same carer attends most days.
Both mum and I are wary of ‘new’ carers who are unsure of what they need to do as Mum expects them to know about her care plan.
I like the fact that each visit is an hour slot, and we have found that all of Mums carers are really good, kind, very helpful, caring and trustworthy people.
If I have any issues, I know I can ring the office, and they will resolve it. I highly recommend your company.

Thank you so much for such a wonderful review and the recommendation that you have made.
We are so pleased that you are happy with the service and the support provided and that the continuity (which is so important to us) is working so well for you and for your Mum too. We are so proud when we read the lovely qualities that you tell us that you have found in your Mum's Support Worker's - thank you for this feedback. To know that we are supporting your Mum to maintain her independence means everything t us.
Although we are always disappointed to hear if something hasn't been right, we are always really glad to hear that our processes have worked well and to know that the issue was resolved so quickly. We are just so sorry that there was such a concern to start with - as you will know from all of your other experience with us, it's not how we operate and definitely isn't usual practice for us.
Thank you again; your review was just lovely to read.

Despite a few new faces over the last few months, the care staff complement has always included at least one familiar face for continuity.
All staff have conducted themselves professionally and provide an excellent, caring service. They take an interest in him and always attempt to engage with him
whilst involved in their caring duties. I am grateful for their bright, positive approach and hope this will continue as they continue to support me in caring for him.

Thank you so much, Alison, for such a great review.
We are absolutely thrilled to know that you are so pleased with the care and support provided to him, and we are so grateful for your understanding with regards to new Support Workers being introduced to him as our team in your area grows - we are really happy to note the continuity with existing staff members though... this is something that we pride ourselves on, and we know that it is important to you both.
He is a very special man, and we are honoured to be supporting him in the dignified, positive, caring way that he deserves. We are also grateful for the way that you welcome our Support Worker's into your home and chat to them like they are long lost friends, usually, while you are preparing whichever amazing foods you are baking that day... this is lovely to hear of and makes us know that we have got the correct Support Worker's matched with the correct families!

Thank you again.

From our initial enquiry to putting a care plan in place for Mum, I found Support at Home helpful, professional and open to listen to Mum and the family's needs. Nothing was too much trouble. We were able to meet some of the carers who would look after Mum, all in line with Covid regulations.
Since
care began, small tweaks and teething problems to the care plan have been rectified immediately. Support at Home has been responsive to any changes needed.
We have electronic access to Mum's care plan, and carers notes are provided with mum's rota of carers the week before; so that we know who is due to visit Mum the following week.
I would certainly recommend Support At Home, special recognition to one lady for her help and support.
