Home Instead Wetherby and North Leeds offer tailor-made home care and specialist dementia support to people living in their own homes.

Services including companionship, home help, personal care, medication support, postoperative, respite and rehabilitation, are personalised to the individual.

Specialist dementia and palliative care service work closely with local health care providers to enable non-medical support to reflect the individual’s needs and be of the highest quality.

Visits can be from one hour to 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and are provided by a team of professional CAREGivers who have undergone comprehensive training including City & Guilds accredited Alzheimer’s and dementia specialist training.

The CAREGivers are compassionate, skilled and trustworthy and the selection process ensures this as six references are obtained instead of the two required as an industry standard.

In addition, the CAREGivers have an enhanced (DBS) background check before they begin their employment.

CAREGivers are individually matched to clients on the basis of personality, interests and skills required.

The relationship of trust between the client and CAREGiver is fundamental to the provision of high-quality care so clients have a named CAREGiver at every visit.

On the first visit, a member of the management team will introduce the CAREGiver to the client and visits are arranged at a time convenient to the client.

The Management team makes regular quality assurance visits to ensure that the care being delivered matches the care plan. This ensures that they are able to react quickly to any change in clients circumstances or condition.

Have a look at the recommendations from clients and family members to see what people think and please do not hesitate to contact Home Instead Senior Care for further details and no obligation care consultation.

During the 3+ years we have benefitted from help provided by Home Instead Senior Care, we have had one main carer who is calm, sensitive, very supportive and extremely observant. The three other carers who have helped out during holidays/illness have all displayed desirable qualities and shown initiative
and concern.
The management and administrative staff have sound knowledge and recognition of individuals. My husband was recognised whilst walking alone and our regular carer was informed by a colleague, then she made contact with me to ensure I knew.

Mum only used Home Instead for one month before she was admitted to hospital after a fall. They were very professional. I liked the hour-long visits it meant mum wasn't rushed. Management caring, they rang several times to see how mum was in hospital.

I would like to say the company was extremely professional and helpful. On occasions when I needed cover at short notice (ie 24 hours) to look after my mum they nearly always managed to provide it which was very commendable as I know it is not easy having to juggle carers shifts about so other clients
are not affected. I was also very happy about leaving my mum in the hands of these caring and knowledgeable carers who my mum enjoyed having look after her.

This senior care provider always achieved the highest standards from first to the last contact continuously. They treated and cared for my mother better than I could have done. It was overwhelmingly obvious that they are an extremely well organised and totally professional firm displaying consideration
compassion and empathy for the client at all times. They are not the cheapest of providers but provide excellent value for money in other words "they do exactly (and more) what it says on the tin".

Home Instead provided a supportive and flexible care package for my mother, which enabled her to stay in her own home. The carers were kind and helpful and provided Mum with a high standard of care. The office staff were very considerate and accommodating.

Home Instead was excellent in every respect. The care they provided made all the difference in enabling my mother to stay at home rather than going into a nursing home.

Our experience with Home Instead is more than first class. We have used this service on and off for the last few years and everyone has been so helpful and kind to both my husband and myself, supporting me and treating my husband with respect and dignity.
The young lady we had last time put herself
out to make sure we were both okay. Sadly, my husband has had to go into a nursing home as I can no longer deal with him. Your staff are all wonderful.

We engaged a Home Instead carer early in 2016 to visit my mother at home a couple of times a week for social contact, outings and light housework. Mummy had been diagnosed with Parkinson's in 2014 and increasing dementia was making it difficult for her to manage her home. We met the Home Instead manager
and were impressed by how she wanted to know mummy as a person - her interests, lifestyle and likes/dislikes. She found a super carer with whom mummy quickly built up a rapport.

In the summer of 2016, mummy was hospitalised for an infection causing a deterioration in her mental capacity so she could no longer safely live at home; her Home Instead carer visited her in hospital in her own unpaid time. We were impressed and organised with Home Instead for the carer to visit mummy weekly at the care home. She sets up FaceTime so mummy gets to see our faces; she takes mummy out, reads to her and takes an interest in her wellbeing. I live 5 hrs away - this weekly update is invaluable.

Home Instead have provided care at home for both my parents over the past 5 years. The service has always been excellent and they have gone above and beyond my expectations. They are very caring, friendly and easy to work with. Their service was initially tailored to my late father's needs and is now
tailored to my mother's needs, as she suffers from Alzheimer's. They have adapted their service as our needs have changed and are extremely proactive, flexible and supportive when urgent and unexpected health issues arise. They enable my mother to continue living happily at home and are invaluable to us as a family.

As a family, we are indebted to Home Instead. From the first contact, the service has been outstanding. Everyone involved is warm, friendly, courteous, caring and competent. The admin staff answer quickly and always callback if they have promised to do so. The carers are just wonderful. We could not
have managed without them and we will always be grateful to them.

Home Instead have been caring for my father in law since September 2016. He has mobility issues and dementia and his wife was in the hospital. All the caregivers have been wonderful with him, and his wife when she returned home. We have found Home Instead to be more than willing to accommodate their
needs and they have kept us updated at all times. We are particularly grateful for the vigilance of the caregivers, who have been quick to alert us when there is cause for concern. We have found that the caregivers use their initiative to provide appropriate support for him, by involving him in the day to day tasks and by planning activities that will interest him.
As a family, we are enormously grateful to Home Instead for giving us peace of mind. We know that my parents in law are safe and happy.

Home Instead (HI) and the Wetherby team have been fantastic since first approached, caring, attentive and professional - we contacted other agencies however HI are by far the best, once a proposal was in place, it was an easy decision to have Dad's care with them.

Over 6 months HI has stepped up

to every challenge where we have asked for help, quickly putting in place great staff, all with a quiet and efficient backroom support and logistics. We would not have been able to keep Dad at home in comfort, with the other NHS agencies around him, without the care and attention to detail that HI has provided.

All these scenarios with Dads care have been new to us and at each level HI has been able to guide us forward with Dovetail with all Dad's medical care, we have always felt confident with HI.

All the HI staff are brilliant in their approach to Dad, he has been able to take step by step, all the care and help he has needed, he says "I'm so lucky I only meet nice people" a testament to the HI ethos.

I recently arranged care for an elderly couple who live next door to me. They were both in their 90's and required companionship and personal assistance. The Home Instead team were incredible, nothing was ever too much trouble and they were always flexible and efficient whenever I needed to change
times of visit. The staff who visited were always professional and courteous to my elderly neighbours and I know they were well like and well thought of by both clients. The office staff were always polite and accommodating. Without the input of the Home Instead team I don't know how I would have managed. I would have no hesitation in recommending this company and would certainly use them again if the need ever arises.

My thanks to everyone for the patience and help.

Job Title: Director

Following 35 years of business experience in corporate roles with well-known brands working largely in the retail sector, I wanted to do something that would make a difference.

After experiencing the difficulty of finding high-quality care for my immediate family, I very much value the approach to senior care and independence that Home Instead offers so I joined the Home Instead Wetherby office in 2016. My role is to lead the Wetherby & North Leeds team, spread the word about the Home Instead experience, and run the business aspects of the operation.

Job Title: Care Manager

After previously working in adult social care for over 30 years, I took early retirement to care for a family member. I then decided to join Home Instead as a CAREGiver and loved the role so much that I wanted to develop my career. I used my skills to become a Care Service Manager looking after the Leeds area. I am now the Care Manager, overseeing all aspects of our car across Wetherby & Leeds. I really enjoy the contact with our clients and their families, so I can tailor the service we provide to their needs.

Job Title: Client Advisor

I have worked in the care my whole life - my first job at 14 years old was caring for those who need extra help. I took a break from care to try something different, raise my children and take care of ailing parents. However, care always called me back.

After settling for a few years after an international move with my two children from the United States to gap the distance to be with my husband, I started in care again with Home Instead. Now, two years on, I'm enjoying my new position as Client Advisor. In this role, I hope I can make your first steps into care at home more comfortable and eased.
