Home Instead (Reading) provides a high quality, reliable and truly personal service to help older people be safe, secure and independent in their own homes. With provision ranging from as little as a few hours each week up to seven days a week including weekends and holidays, Home Instead provides a flexible and responsive service.

Home Instead match clients to individual caregivers based on personality and shared interests, and personally introduce clients to caregivers so that clients never have to admit a stranger to their home. All Home Instead caregivers have completed the Home Instead induction programme, provided 6 references and they have been subject to an Enhanced Criminal Records Bureau check prior to supporting any clients.

Home Instead offers companionship, medication reminders, respite care, light housekeeping, meal preparation, personal care, shopping and much more.

I have been with Home Instead for over 2 years. I am very happy with their services, the carers are great, friendly and professional and know what they are doing.

I find Home Instead Senior Care (Reading) to be very kind and professional. The staff that have attended to my mother are fantastic, warm, friendly and caring. I can relax when I know they are with my mum because I know she enjoys their company. Also, the management are always at the end of the phone
to address any problems that may crop up, so I would recommend them to anyone who needs some helping hands and to feel their parents are cared for.

I cannot fault the care that everyone in Home Instead Reading has given my mother over the last month. They are professional and go beyond their remit to ensure she is safe and comfortable at home. We have been having the same carer for quite a long while now and she is fantastic.
My mother can be quite difficult but she manages her behaviour extremely well. She does an excellent job.
We had tried several agencies before Home Instead and none of them were adequate, they wouldn't clean my mother
properly which resulted in infection after infection.
We are so happy with Home Instead, or more importantly the carer she now has.

When I was told by the hospital I had to get carers, I had no idea where to look until I was given a book to look at of all caring professions around the country. I wanted a local company and found Home Instead and called them first. The next day the owner came to visit me in rehab hospital.
I was
reluctant to have carers in my home for me (due to major multi pull hip operations), my husband was also very uneasy about having people coming into his house 3 times a day. This didn't last long, because he knew the carers did a better job than he could.

I have now been receiving care from Home Instead for approx 4 months. My carers are not only professional, they are like my new friends. Every day it's like a friend dropping in, always ready to listen to any of my problems but mainly while doing their work we have a laugh. This makes me happy.

I started working in the healthcare sector 12+ years ago as a carer when my children didn’t need me around so much. What was just a job to fit in around the school run has turned into a passion. I have worked my way up from carer to senior carer, to therapy assistant within the NHS supporting physios and OTs, to then moving into the office to utilise my admin skills (PA/secretary before children) as a care coordinator, then care manager and have been a Registered Care Manager for 4 years.


I am a registered healthcare trainer, and have recently attained my level 5 diploma in Health and Social Care Leadership and Management and am about to start work to attain a Masters's Degree in the same subject. At home, I live with my partner, my 21-year-old son and 16-year-old daughter, 3 dogs, 2 guinea pigs and 2 ridgeback musk turtles and in my spare time I am a Samaritans volunteer. I am passionate about delivering high-quality care to our clients

Prior to becoming a Home Instead owner here in Reading in 2011, I had previously worked in and around the healthcare sector for over 10 years. The poor experiences that my parents had with caring for my father in the family home lead me to believe that there must be a better way of supporting people to continue living meaningful lives at home. Home Instead’s vision of what good care should look like mirrors my own personal values so the last 10 years have been a truly gratifying experience.


We have a fantastic team of Care Professionals that I am immensely proud of. They share a common desire to support our clients as individuals, giving them the best care possible. They in turn are supported by an enthusiastic and well-led team of supervisors, administrators, and care management.


Here in Reading, Home Instead has been operating under my stewardship for over 10 years. We are firmly embedded within the local community, supporting other organisations such as the Reading Dementia Action Alliance, local community projects and Tilehurst Bowls Club where we are a sponsor and trough that hold activities which our clients and their family carers attend.
