I cannot speak highly enough of the ongoing, and increasing, care my Mum is receiving from Candlelight. All the carers who visit Mum are not only professional, caring, supportive, and friendly, but they always go above and beyond if Mum is having a difficult day. I am also kept in touch with what's
going on if Mum isn't doing so well (as I live a little distance from Mum) and am happy to chat if I'm having any problems communicating with her because of her dementia.
You are all amazing people and I cannot adequately express my gratitude for the care Mum is receiving. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

My chief carer is so good, that nothing escapes her, invaluable. When I ask for advice I know she will tell me the correct path to take. I have learnt this over the last 7 years and I trust her completely. This does not mean the other staff are not good, it means she stands out and is genuinely caring.

We always look forward to the carer's visits. They are very friendly, kind people and do a good job sorting out my husband with washing, dressing him in the mornings, changing the catheter leg bag when necessary and lesser jobs on the evening visits.

Staff are courteous and respectful. Dad is comfortable with the care he receives. There has been a struggle to get the time that most suits Dad's (and my) routines, this has now been resolved. Office staff are friendly, reliable and mostly ring is there is a problem. The email of who is coming and when
to expect them is invaluable, helps prepare Dad and plan my day.

My mum is a relatively new client of Candlelight Care. Mum is elderly, blind and has very limited mobility. I live in Portugal, so far away. Mum had experienced some problems with a previous company but I managed to get her in with the Candlelight team and she is so happy now, they are all very loving,
caring, hard-working and give Mum a sense of security. They offer such a professional service, Mum is looking forward to her first hairdo from the team soon, they can even do her nails. She says nothing is too much trouble to ask, she sounds so different when I talk with her over the phone, back to her cheerful self. Thank you Candlelight, you are all amazing.

The care my husband received from the first day was extremely gentle and caring. He had been apprehensive but from the first moment, he was put at ease and now looks forward to someone coming as do I! I also appreciate their tidiness and cleanliness.

The carers are largely really helpful and go above and beyond and Mum looks forward to them arriving. There is occasionally one who does the absolute minimum and rarely speaks. I appreciate they have a job to do but, when dealing with the elderly living alone, a large part of that job must be just talking
to them.

Mandy was previously the Registered Manager of the Uckfield Branch in East Sussex. In June 2022 Mandy brought our Wimborne Branch under her CQC Registered Manager's registration and the Wimborne branch is now getting her expertise to take the branch from strength to strength.

Cheree joined Candlelight Care in September 2023 as one of 13 staff TUPE’d from another company. She had worked for her previous company for 14 years and had gained extensive knowledge in all areas of Domiciliary Care. In March 2023 she was promoted to Deputy Manager and in September 2023 was further promoted to Branch Manager, she is currently awaiting her Registered Manager confirmation.


Outside of work, Cheree likes to spend time with her Grandchildren.

As our Recruitment Officer, Roxanne (Roxy) helps us to find new care and support staff to look after our clients in their own homes. In addition to posting new jobs on job sites, social media, and other outlets, she attends recruitment fairs and is constantly looking for ways to improve our recruitment process. She supports our potential new employees from the moment they apply for a job until they are invited for an interview, answering their questions, chasing up CVs and applications, and sometimes meeting for an informal chat in person or on the phone.


Prior to joining Candlelight Care Roxy provided private care on a 1:1 basis for an individual with Downs Syndrome and Dementia in Cornwall, and she has also worked as a ‘Field Supervisor’ (CTM) for a care company in Torbay, supporting a team of care workers with supervisions, spot-checks and medication sign-offs. So she understands the rewards and challenges of care work!

Away from the office, Roxy is a member of the Mere Amateur Dramatics society, which put on two productions a year in the Spring and Autumn. She has always loved performing and studied Acting at University, where she was able to tour regionally and Internationally in their productions.
